| James 4:1 | What is the cause of wars and fighting among you? is it not in your desires which are at war in your bodies? | Where do wars and fightings among you come from? Don't they come from your pleasures that war in your members? | Whence [come] wars and whence fightings among you? [Is it] not thence, from your pleasures, which war in your members? |
| James 4:2 | You are burning with desire, and have not your desire, so you put men to death; you are full of envy, and you are not able to get your desire, so you are fighting and making war; you have not your desire, because you do not make request for it. | You lust, and don't have. You kill, covet, and can't obtain. You fight and make war. Yet you don't have, because you don't ask. | Ye lust and have not: ye kill and are full of envy, and cannot obtain; ye fight and war; ye have not because ye ask not. |

| James 4:14 | When you are not certain what will take place tomorrow. What is your life? It is a mist, which is seen for a little time and then is gone. | Whereas you don't know what your life will be like tomorrow. For what is your life?
