Romans 1:1Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, an Apostle by the selection of God, given authority as a preacher of the good news,Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God,Paul, bondman of Jesus Christ, [a] called apostle, separated to God's glad tidings,
Romans 1:2Of which God had given word before by his prophets in the holy Writings,which he promised before through his prophets in the holy scriptures,(which he had before promised by his prophets in holy writings,)
Romans 1:3About his Son who, in the flesh, came from the family of David,concerning his Son, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh,concerning his Son (come of David's seed according to flesh,
Romans 1:4But was marked out as Son of God in power by the Holy Spirit through the coming to life again of the dead; Jesus Christ our Lord,who was declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,marked out Son of God in power, according to [the] Spirit of holiness, by resurrection of [the] dead) Jesus Christ our Lord;
Romans 1:5Through whom grace has been given to us, sending us out to make disciples to the faith among all nations, for his name:through whom we received grace and apostleship, to obedience of faith among all the nations, for his name's sake.by whom we have received grace and apostleship in behalf of his name, for obedience of faith among all the nations,
Romans 1:6Among whom you in the same way have been marked out to be disciples of Jesus Christ:Among whom you are also called to be Jesus Christ's.among whom are *ye* also [the] called of Jesus Christ:
Romans 1:7To all those who are in Rome, loved by God, marked out as saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.To all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.to all that are in Rome, beloved of God, called saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and [our] Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 1:8First of all, I give praise to my God through Jesus Christ for you all, because news of your faith has gone into all the world.First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, that your faith is proclaimed throughout the whole world.First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is proclaimed in the whole world.
Romans 1:9For God is my witness, whose servant I am in spirit in the good news of his Son, that you are at all times in my memory and in my prayers,For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit in the gospel of his Son, how unceasingly I make mention of you always in my prayers,For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit in the glad tidings of his Son, how unceasingly I make mention of you,
Romans 1:10And that I am ever making prayers that God will give me a good journey to you.requesting, if by any means now at length I may be prospered by the will of God to come to you.always beseeching at my prayers, if any way now at least I may be prospered by the will of God to come to you.
Romans 1:11For I have a strong desire to see you, and to give you some grace of the spirit, so that you may be made strong;For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, to the end you may be established;For I greatly desire to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to establish you;
Romans 1:12That is to say, that all of us may be comforted together by the faith which is in you and in me.that is, that I with you may be comforted in you, each of us by the other's faith, both yours and mine.that is, to have mutual comfort among you, each by the faith [which is] in the other, both yours and mine.
Romans 1:13You may be certain, my brothers, that it has frequently been in my mind to come to you (but till now I was kept from it), so that I might have some fruit from you in the same way as I have had it from the other nations.Now I don't desire to have you unaware, brothers, that often I planned to come to you, and was hindered so far, that I might have some fruit in you also, even as in the rest of the Gentiles.But I do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, that I often proposed to come to you, (and have been hindered until the present time,) that I might have some fruit among you too, even as among the other nations also.
Romans 1:14I have a debt to Greeks and to the nations outside; to the wise and to those who have no learning.I am debtor both to Greeks and to foreigners, both to the wise and to the foolish.I am a debtor both to Greeks and barbarians, both to wise and unintelligent:
Romans 1:15For which reason I have the desire, as far as I am able, to give the knowledge of the good news to you who are in Rome.So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome.so, as far as depends on me, am I ready to announce the glad tidings to you also who [are] in Rome.
Romans 1:16For I have no feeling of shame about the good news, because it is the power of God giving salvation to everyone who has faith, to the Jew first, and then to the Greek.For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation to everyone who believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.For I am not ashamed of the glad tidings; for it is God's power to salvation, to every one that believes, both to Jew first and to Greek:
Romans 1:17For in it there is the revelation of the righteousness of God from faith to faith: as it is said in the holy Writings, The man who does righteousness will be living by his faith.For therein is revealed a righteousness of God from faith to faith. As it is written, "But the righteous shall live by faith."for righteousness of God is revealed therein, on the principle of faith, to faith: according as it is written, But the just shall live by faith.
Romans 1:18For there is a revelation of the wrath of God from heaven against all the wrongdoing and evil thoughts of men who keep down what is true by wrongdoing;For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hinder the truth in unrighteousness,For there is revealed wrath of God from heaven upon all impiety, and unrighteousness of men holding the truth in unrighteousness.
Romans 1:19Because the knowledge of God may be seen in them, God having made it clear to them.because that which is known by God is revealed in them, for God revealed it to them.Because what is known of God is manifest among them, for God has manifested [it] to them,
Romans 1:20For from the first making of the world, those things of God which the eye is unable to see, that is, his eternal power and existence, are fully made clear, he having given the knowledge of them through the things which he has made, so that men have no reason for wrongdoing:For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity; that they may be without excuse.for from [the] world's creation the invisible things of him are perceived, being apprehended by the mind through the things that are made, both his eternal power and divinity, so as to render them inexcusable.
Romans 1:21Because, having the knowledge of God, they did not give glory to God as God, and did not give praise, but their minds were full of foolish things, and their hearts, being without sense, were made dark.Because, knowing God, they didn't glorify him as God, neither gave thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened.Because, knowing God, they glorified [him] not as God, neither were thankful; but fell into folly in their thoughts, and their heart without understanding was darkened:
Romans 1:22Seeming to be wise, they were in fact foolish,Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
Romans 1:23And by them the glory of the eternal God was changed and made into the image of man who is not eternal, and of birds and beasts and things which go on the earth.and traded the glory of the incorruptible God for the likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of birds, and four-footed animals, and creeping things.and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into [the] likeness of an image of corruptible man and of birds and quadrupeds and reptiles.
Romans 1:24For this reason God gave them up to the evil desires of their hearts, working shame in their bodies with one another:Therefore God also gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to uncleanness, that their bodies should be dishonored among themselves,Wherefore God gave them up [also] in the lusts of their hearts to uncleanness, to dishonour their bodies between themselves:
Romans 1:25Because by them the true word of God was changed into that which is false, and they gave worship and honour to the thing which is made, and not to him who made it, to whom be blessing for ever. So be it.who exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.who changed the truth of God into falsehood, and honoured and served the creature more than him who had created [it], who is blessed for ever. Amen.
Romans 1:26For this reason God gave them up to evil passions, and their women were changing the natural use into one which is unnatural:For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature.For this reason God gave them up to vile lusts; for both their females changed the natural use into that contrary to nature;
Romans 1:27And in the same way the men gave up the natural use of the woman and were burning in their desire for one another, men doing shame with men, and getting in their bodies the right reward of their evil-doing.Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error.and in like manner the males also, leaving the natural use of the female, were inflamed in their lust towards one another; males with males working shame, and receiving in themselves the recompense of their error which was fit.
Romans 1:28And because they had not the mind to keep God in their knowledge, God gave them up to an evil mind, to do those things which are not right;Even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting;And according as they did not think good to have God in [their] knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind to practise unseemly things;
Romans 1:29Being full of all wrongdoing, evil, desire for the goods of others, hate, envy, putting to death, fighting, deceit, cruel ways, evil talk, and false statements about others;being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil habits, secret slanderers,being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, malice; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil dispositions; whisperers,
Romans 1:30Hated by God, full of pride, without respect, full of loud talk, given to evil inventions, not honouring father or mother,backbiters, hateful to God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,back-biters, hateful to God, insolent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Romans 1:31Without knowledge, not true to their undertakings, unkind, having no mercy:without understanding, covenant-breakers, without natural affection, unforgiving, unmerciful;void of understanding, faithless, without natural affection, unmerciful;
Romans 1:32Who, though they have knowledge of the law of God, that the fate of those who do these things is death, not only go on doing these things themselves, but give approval to those who do them.who, knowing the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but also consent with those who practice them.who knowing the righteous judgment of God, that they who do such things are worthy of death, not only practise them, but have fellow delight in those who do [them].
