1st-Peter 5:1I who am myself one of the rulers of the church, and a witness of the death of Christ, having my part in the coming glory, send this serious request to the chief men among you:I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and who will also share in the glory that will be revealed.The elders who are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:
1st-Peter 5:2Keep watch over the flock of God which is in your care, using your authority, not as forced to do so, but gladly; and not for unclean profit but with a ready mind;Tend the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not under compulsion, but voluntarily, not for dishonest gain, but willingly;Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight of it, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but from a ready mind;
1st-Peter 5:3Not as lords over God's heritage, but making yourselves examples to the flock.neither as lording it over the charge allotted to you, but making yourselves examples to the flock.Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock.
1st-Peter 5:4And at the coming of the chief Keeper of the sheep, you will be given the eternal crown of glory.When the chief Shepherd will be revealed, you will receive the crown of glory that doesn't fade away.And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
1st-Peter 5:5And in the same way, let the younger men be ruled by the older ones. Let all of you put away pride and make yourselves ready to be servants: for God is a hater of pride, but he gives grace to those who make themselves low.Likewise, you younger ones, be subject to the elder. Yes, all of you gird yourselves with humility, to subject yourselves to one another; for "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves to the elder. Yes, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
1st-Peter 5:6For this cause make yourselves low under the strong hand of God, so that when the time comes you may be lifted up;Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time;Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
1st-Peter 5:7Putting all your troubles on him, for he takes care of you.casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
1st-Peter 5:8Be serious and keep watch; the Evil One, who is against you, goes about like a lion with open mouth in search of food;Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary the devil, walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
1st-Peter 5:9Do not give way to him but be strong in your faith, in the knowledge that your brothers who are in the world undergo the same troubles.Withstand him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings.Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
1st-Peter 5:10And after you have undergone pain for a little time, the God of all grace who has given you a part in his eternal glory through Christ Jesus, will himself give you strength and support, and make you complete in every good thing;But may the God of all grace (who called you to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus), after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.But the God of all grace, who hath called us to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle you.
1st-Peter 5:11His is the power for ever. So be it.To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
1st-Peter 5:12I have sent you this short letter by Silvanus, a true brother, in my opinion; comforting you and witnessing that this is the true grace of God; keep to it.Through Silvanus, our faithful brother, as I consider him, I have written to you briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God in which you stand.By Silvanus, a faithful brother to you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God in which ye stand.
1st-Peter 5:13She who is in Babylon, who has a part with you in the purpose of God, sends you her love; and so does my son Mark.She who is in Babylon, elect together with you, greets you; and so does Mark, my son.The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you; and so doth Mark my son.
1st-Peter 5:14Give one another the kiss of love. Peace be to you all in Christ.Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace be to you all who are in Christ Jesus. Amen.Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity. Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen.
