| Jonah 2:1 | Then Jonah made prayer to the Lord his God from the inside of the fish, and said, | Then Jonah prayed to Yahweh, his God, out of the fish's belly. | And Jonah prayeth unto Jehovah his God from the bowels of the fish. |
| Jonah 2:2 | In my trouble I was crying to the Lord, and he gave me an answer; out of the deepest underworld I sent up a cry, and you gave ear to my voice. | He said, "I called because of my affliction to Yahweh. He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol I cried. You heard my voice. | And he saith: I called, because of my distress, to Jehovah, And He doth answer me, From the belly of sheol I have cried, Thou hast heard my voice. |
| Jonah 2:3 | For you have put me down into the deep, into the heart of the sea; and the river was round about me; all your waves and your rolling waters went over me. | For you threw me into the depths, In the heart of the seas. The flood was all around me. All your waves and your billows passed over me. | When Thou dost cast me [into] the deep, Into the heart of the seas, Then the flood doth compass me, All Thy breakers and Thy billows have passed over me. |
| Jonah 2:4 | And I said, I have been sent away from before your eyes; how may I ever again see your holy Temple? | I said, 'I have been banished from your sight; Yet I will look again toward your holy temple.' | And I I said: I have been cast out from before Thine eyes, (Yet I add to look unto Thy holy temple!) |
| Jonah 2:5 | The waters were circling round me, even to the neck; the deep was about me; the sea-grass was twisted round my head. | The waters surrounded me, Even to the soul. The deep was around me. The weeds were wrapped around my head. | Compassed me have waters unto the soul, The deep doth compass me, The weed is bound to my head. |
| Jonah 2:6 | I went down to the bases of the mountains; as for the earth, her walls were about me for ever: but you have taken up my life from the underworld, O Lord my God. | I went down to the bottoms of the mountains. The earth barred me in forever: Yet have you brought up my life from the pit, Yahweh my God. | To the cuttings of mountains I have come down, The earth, her bars [are] behind me to the age. And Thou bringest up from the pit my life, O Jehovah my God. |
| Jonah 2:7 | When my soul in me was overcome, I kept the memory of the Lord: and my prayer came in to you, into your holy Temple. | "When my soul fainted within me, I remembered Yahweh. My prayer came in to you, into your holy temple. | In the feebleness within me of my soul Jehovah I have remembered, And come in unto Thee doth my prayer, Unto Thy holy temple. |
| Jonah 2:8 | The worshippers of false gods have given up their only hope. | Those who regard lying vanities forsake their own mercy. | Those observing lying vanities their own mercy forsake. |
| Jonah 2:9 | But I will make an offering to you with the voice of praise; I will give effect to my oaths. Salvation is the Lord's. | But I will sacrifice to you with the voice of thanksgiving. I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation belongs to Yahweh." | And I with a voice of thanksgiving I sacrifice to Thee, That which I have vowed I complete, Salvation [is] of Jehovah. |
| Jonah 2:10 | And at the Lord's order, the fish sent Jonah out of its mouth on to the dry land. | Yahweh spoke to the fish, and it vomited out Jonah on the dry land. | And Jehovah saith to the fish, and it vomiteth out Jonah on the dry land. |
