| John 16:1 | I have said these things to you so that you may not be in doubt. | `These things I have spoken to you, that ye may not be stumbled, | These things I have spoken unto you that ye may not be offended. |
| John 16:2 | They will put you out of the Synagogues: yes, the time is coming when whoever puts you to death will have the belief that he is doing God's pleasure. | out of the synagogues they will put you; but an hour doth come, that every one who hath killed you, may think to offer service unto God; | They shall put you out of the synagogues; but the hour is coming that every one who kills you will think to render service to God; |
| John 16:3 | They will do these things to you because they have not had knowledge of the Father or of me. | and these things they will do to you, because they did not know the Father, nor me. | and these things they will do because they have not known the Father nor me. |
| John 16:4 | I have said these things to you so that when the time comes, what I have said may come to your mind. I did not say them to you at the first, because then I was still with you. | `But these things I have spoken to you, that when the hour may come, ye may remember them, that I said [them] to you, and these things to you from the beginning I did not say, because I was with you; | But I have spoken these things to you, that when their hour shall have come, ye may remember them, that I have said [them] unto you. But I did not say these things unto you from [the] beginning, because I was with you. |
| John 16:5 | But now I am going to him who sent me; and not one of you says to me, Where are you going? | and now I go away to Him who sent me, and none of you doth ask me, Whither dost thou go? | But now I go to him that has sent me, and none of you demands of me, Where goest thou? |
| John 16:6 | But your hearts are full of sorrow because I have said these things. | but because these things I have said to you, the sorrow hath filled your heart. | But because I have spoken these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. |
| John 16:7 | But what I am saying is true: my going is for your good: for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. | `But I tell you the truth; it is better for you that I go away, for if I may not go away, the Comforter will not come unto you, and if I go on, I will send Him unto you; | But I say the truth to you, It is profitable for you that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I go I will send him to you. |
| John 16:8 | And he, when he comes, will make the world conscious of sin, and of righteousness, and of being judged: | and having come, He will convict the world concerning sin, and concerning righteousness, and concerning judgment; | And having come, he will bring demonstration to the world, of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: |
| John 16:9 | Of sin, because they have not faith in me; | concerning sin indeed, because they do not believe in me; | of sin, because they do not believe on me; |
| John 16:10 | Of righteousness, because I go to the Father and you will see me no more; | and concerning righteousness, because unto my Father I go away, and no more do ye behold me; | of righteousness, because I go away to [my] Father, and ye behold me no longer; |
| John 16:11 | Of being judged, because the ruler of this world has been judged. | and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world hath been judged. | of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. |
| John 16:12 | I have still much to say to you, but you are not strong enough for it now. | `I have yet many things to say to you, but ye are not able to bear [them] now; | I have yet many things to say to you, but ye cannot bear them now. |
| John 16:13 | However, when he, the Spirit of true knowledge, has come, he will be your guide into all true knowledge: for his words will not come from himself, but whatever has come to his hearing, that he will say: and he will make clear to you the things to come. | and when He may come the Spirit of truth He will guide you to all the truth, for He will not speak from Himself, but as many things as He will hear He will speak, and the coming things He will tell you; | But when *he* is come, the Spirit of truth, he shall guide you into all the truth: for he shall not speak from himself; but whatsoever he shall hear he shall speak; and he will announce to you what is coming. |

| John 16:19 | Jesus saw that they had a desire to put the question to him, so he said to them, Is this what you are questioning one with another, why I said, After a little time, you will see me no longer; and then again, after a little time, you will see me? | Jesus, therefore, knew that they were wishing to ask him, and he said to them, `Concerning this do ye seek one with another, because I said, A little while, and you do not behold me, and again a little while, and ye shall see me? | Jesus knew therefore that they desired to demand of him, and said to them, Do ye inquire of this among yourselves that I said, A little while and ye do not behold me; and again a little while and ye shall see me? |
| John 16:20 | Truly I say to you, You will be weeping and sorrowing, but the world will be glad: you will be sad, but your sorrow will be turned into joy. | verily, verily, I say to you, that ye shall weep and lament, and the world will rejoice; and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow joy will become. | Verily, verily, I say to you, that ye shall weep and lament, ye, but the world shall rejoice; and ye will be grieved, but your grief shall be turned to joy. |
| John 16:21 | When a woman is about to give birth she has sorrow, because her hour is come; but when she has given birth to the child, the pain is put out of her mind by the joy that a man has come into the world. | `The woman, when she may bear, hath sorrow, because her hour did come, and when she may bear the child, no more doth she remember the anguish, because of the joy that a man was born to the world. | A woman, when she gives birth to a child, has grief because her hour has come; but when the child is born, she no longer remembers the trouble, on account of the joy that a man has been born into the world. |
