| Matthew 3:1 | And in those days John the Baptist came preaching in the waste land of Judaea, | And in those days cometh John the Baptist, proclaiming in the wilderness of Judea, | Now in those days comes John the baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, |
| Matthew 3:2 | Saying, Let your hearts be turned from sin; for the kingdom of heaven is near. | and saying, `Reform, for come nigh hath the reign of the heavens,` | and saying, Repent, for the kingdom of the heavens has drawn nigh. |
