| Romans 13:1 | Let everyone put himself under the authority of the higher powers, because there is no power which is not of God, and all powers are ordered by God. | Let every soul to the higher authorities be subject, for there is no authority except from God, and the authorities existing are appointed by God, | Let every soul be subject to the authorities that are above [him]. For there is no authority except from God; and those that exist are set up by God. |
| Romans 13:2 | For which reason everyone who puts himself against the authority puts himself against the order of God: and those who are against it will get punishment for themselves. | so that he who is setting himself against the authority, against God`s ordinance hath resisted; and those resisting, to themselves shall receive judgment. | So that he that sets himself in opposition to the authority resists the ordinance of God; and they who [thus] resist shall bring sentence of guilt on themselves. |
