Exodus 23:1Do not let a false statement go further; do not make an agreement with evil-doers to be a false witness.`Thou dost not lift up a vain report; thou dost not put thy hand with a wicked man to be a violent witness.Thou shalt not receive the voice of a lie: neither shalt thou join thy hand to bear false witness for a wicked person.
Exodus 23:2Do not be moved to do wrong by the general opinion, or give the support of your words to a wrong decision:`Thou art not after many to evil, nor dost thou testify concerning a strife, to turn aside after many to cause [others] to turn aside;Thou shalt not follow the multitude to do evil: neither shalt thou yield in judgment, to the opinion of the most part, to stray from the truth.
Exodus 23:3But, on the other hand, do not be turned from what is right in order to give support to a poor man's cause.and a poor man thou dost not honour in his strife.Neither shalt thou favour a poor man in judgment.
Exodus 23:4If you come across the ox or the ass of one who is no friend to you wandering from its way, you are to take it back to him.`When thou meetest thine enemy`s ox or his ass going astray, thou dost certainly turn it back to him;If thou meet thy enemy's ox or ass going astray, bring it back to him.
Exodus 23:5If you see the ass of one who has no love for you bent down to the earth under the weight which is put on it, you are to come to its help, even against your desire.when thou seest the ass of him who is hating thee crouching under its burden, then thou hast ceased from leaving [it] to it thou dost certainly leave [it] with him.If thou see the ass of him that hateth thee lie underneath his burden, thou shalt not pass by, but shalt lift him up with him.
Exodus 23:6Let no wrong decisions be given in the poor man's cause.`Thou dost not turn aside the judgment of thy needy one in his strife;Thou shalt not go aside in the poor man's judgment.
Exodus 23:7Keep yourselves far from any false business; never let the upright or him who has done no wrong be put to death: for I will make the evil-doer responsible for his sin.from a false matter thou dost keep far off, and an innocent and righteous man thou dost not slay; for I do not justify a wicked man.Thou shalt fly lying. The innocent and just person thou shalt not put to death: because I abhor the wicked.
Exodus 23:8Take no rewards in a cause: for rewards make blind those who have eyes to see, and make the decisions of the upright false.`And a bribe thou dost not take; for the bribe bindeth the open-[eyed], and perverteth the words of the righteous.Neither shalt thou take bribes, which even blind the wise, and pervert the words of the just.
Exodus 23:9Do not be hard on the man from a strange country who is living among you; for you have had experience of the feelings of one who is far from the land of his birth, because you yourselves were living in Egypt, in a strange land.`And a sojourner thou dost not oppress, and ye ye have known the soul of the sojourner, for sojourners ye have been in the land of Egypt.Thou shalt not molest a stranger, for you know the hearts of strangers: for you also were strangers in the land of Egypt.
Exodus 23:10For six years put seed into your fields and get in the increase;`And six years thou dost sow thy land, and hast gathered its increase;Six years thou shalt sow thy ground, and shalt gather the corn thereof.
Exodus 23:11But in the seventh year let the land have a rest and be unplanted; so that the poor may have food from it: and let the beasts of the field take the rest. Do the same with your vine-gardens and your olive-trees.and the seventh thou dost release it, and hast left it, and the needy of thy people have eaten, and their leaving doth the beast of the field eat; so dost thou to thy vineyard to thine olive-yard.But the seventh year thou shalt let it alone, and suffer it to rest, that the poor of thy people may eat, and whatsoever shall be left, let the beasts of the field eat it: so shalt thou do with thy vineyard and thy oliveyard.
Exodus 23:12For six days do your work, and on the seventh day keep the Sabbath; so that your ox and your ass may have rest, together with the son of your servant and the man from a strange land living among you.`Six days thou dost do thy work, and on the seventh day thou dost rest, so that thine ox and thine ass doth rest, and the son of thine handmaid and the sojourner is refreshed;Six days thou shalt work: the seventh day thou shalt cease, that thy ox and thy ass may rest: and the son of thy handmaid and the stranger may be refreshed.
Exodus 23:13Take note of all these things which I have said to you, and let not the names of other gods come into your minds or from your lips.and in all that which I have said unto you ye do take heed; and the name of other gods ye do not mention; it is not heard on thy mouth.Keep all things that I have said to you. And by the name of strange gods you shall not swear, neither shall it be heard out of your mouth.
Exodus 23:14Three times in the year you are to keep a feast to me.`Three times thou dost keep a feast to Me in a year;Three times every year you shall celebrate feasts to me.
Exodus 23:15You are to keep the feast of unleavened bread; for seven days let your bread be without leaven, as I gave you orders, at the regular time in the month Abib (for in it you came out of Egypt); and let no one come before me without an offering:the Feast of Unleavened things thou dost keep; seven days thou dost eat unleavened things, as I have commanded thee, at the time appointed [in] the month of Abib; for in it thou hast come forth out of Egypt, and ye do not appear [in] My presence empty;Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread. Seven days shalt thou eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, in the time of the month of new corn, when thou didst come forth out of Egypt: thou shalt not appear empty before me.
Exodus 23:16And the feast of the grain-cutting, the first-fruits of your planted fields: and the feast at the start of the year, when you have got in all the fruit from your fields.and the Feast of Harvest, the first fruits of thy works which thou sowest in the field; and the Feast of the In-Gathering, in the outgoing of the year, in thy gathering thy works out of the field.And the feast of the harvest of the firstfruits of thy work, whatsoever thou hast sown in the field. The feast also in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in all thy corn out of the field.
Exodus 23:17Three times in the year let all your males come before the Lord God.`Three times in a year do all thy males appear before the face of the Lord Jehovah.Thrice a year shall all thy males appear before the Lord thy God.
Exodus 23:18Do not give the blood of my offering with leavened bread; and do not let the fat of my feast be kept all night till the morning.`Thou dost not sacrifice on a fermented thing the blood of My sacrifice, and the fat of My festival doth not remain till morning;Thou shalt not sacrifice the blood of my victim upon leaven, neither shall the fat of my solemnity remain until the morning.
Exodus 23:19The best of the first-fruits of your land are to be taken into the house of the Lord your God. The young goat is not to be cooked in its mother's milk.the beginning of the first-fruits of thy ground thou dost bring into the house of Jehovah thy God; thou dost not boil a kid in its mother`s milk.Thou shalt carry the firstfruits of the corn of thy ground to the house of the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not boil a kid in the milk of his dam.
Exodus 23:20See, I am sending an angel before you, to keep you on your way and to be your guide into the place which I have made ready for you.`Lo, I am sending a messenger before thee to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee in unto the place which I have prepared;Behold I will send my angel, who shall go before thee, and keep thee in thy journey, and bring thee into the place that I have prepared.
Exodus 23:21Give attention to him and give ear to his voice; do not go against him; for your wrongdoing will not be overlooked by him, because my name is in him.be watchful because of his presence, and hearken to his voice, rebel not against him, for he beareth not with your transgression, for My name [is] in his heart;Take notice of him, and hear his voice, and do not think him one to be contemned: for he will not forgive when thou hast sinned, and my name is in him.
Exodus 23:22But if you truly give ear to his voice, and do whatever I say, then I will be against those who are against you, fighting those who are fighting you.for, if thou diligently hearken to his voice, and hast done all that which I speak, then I have been at enmity with thine enemies, and have distressed those distressing thee.But if thou wilt hear his voice, and do all that I speak, I will be an enemy to thy enemies, and will afflict them that afflict thee.
Exodus 23:23And my angel will go before you, guiding you into the land of the Amorite and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Canaanite and the Hivite and the Jebusite, and they will be cut off by my hand.`For My messenger goeth before thee, and hath brought thee in unto the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Canaanite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, and I have cut them off.And my angel shall go before thee, and shall bring thee in unto the Amorrhite, and the Hethite, and the Pherezite, and the Chanaanite, and the Hevite, and the Jebusite, whom I will destroy.
Exodus 23:24Do not go down on your faces and give worship to their gods, or do as they do; but overcome them completely, and let their pillars be broken down.`Thou dost not bow thyself to their gods, nor serve them, nor do according to their doings, but dost utterly devote them, and thoroughly break their standing pillars.Thou shalt not adore their gods, nor serve them. Thou shalt not do their works, but shalt destroy them, and break their statues.
Exodus 23:25And give worship to the Lord your God, who will send his blessing on your bread and on your water; and I will take all disease away from among you.`And ye have served Jehovah your God, and He hath blessed thy bread and thy water, and I have turned aside sickness from thine heart;And you shall serve the Lord your God, that I may bless your bread and your waters, and may take away sickness from the midst of thee.
Exodus 23:26All your animals will give birth without loss, not one will be without young in all your land; I will give you a full measure of life.there is not a miscarrying and barren one in thy land; the number of thy days I fulfil:There shall not be one fruitless nor barren in thy land: I will fill the number of thy days.
Exodus 23:27I will send my fear before you, putting to flight all the people to whom you come; all those who are against you will go in flight, turning their backs before you.My terror I send before thee, and I have put to death all the people among whom thou comest, and I have given the neck of all thine enemies unto thee.I will send my fear before thee, and will destroy all the people to whom thou shalt come: and will turn the backs of all thy enemies before thee.
Exodus 23:28I will send hornets before you, driving out the Hivite and the Canaanite and the Hittite before your face.`And I have sent the hornet before thee, and it hath cast out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before thee;Sending out hornets before, that shall drive away the Hevite, and the Chanaanite, and the Hethite, before thou come in.
Exodus 23:29I will not send them all out in one year, for fear that their land may become waste, and the beasts of the field be increased overmuch against you.I cast them not out from before thee in one year, lest the land be a desolation, and the beast of the field hath multiplied against thee;I will not cast them out from thy face in one year: lest the land be brought into a wilderness, and the beasts multiply against thee.
Exodus 23:30Little by little I will send them away before you, till your numbers are increased and you take up your heritage in the land.little [by] little I cast them out from before thee, till thou art fruitful, and hast inherited the land.By little and little I will drive them out from before thee, till thou be increased, and dost possess the land.
Exodus 23:31I will let the limits of your land be from the Red Sea to the sea of the Philistines, and from the waste land to the river Euphrates: for I will give the people of those lands into your power; and you will send them out before you.`And I have set thy border from the Red Sea, even unto the sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness unto the River: for I give into your hand the inhabitants of the land, and thou hast cast them out from before thee;And I will set thy bounds from the Red Sea to the sea of the Palestines, and from the desert to the river: I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hands, and will drive them out from before you.
Exodus 23:32Make no agreement with them or with their gods.thou dost not make a covenant with them, and with their gods;Thou shalt not enter into league with them, nor with their gods.
Exodus 23:33Let them not go on living in your land, or they will make you do evil against me: for if you give worship to their gods, it will certainly be a cause of sin to you.they do not dwell in thy land, lest they cause thee to sin against Me when thou servest their gods, when it becometh a snare to thee.`Let them not dwell in thy land, lest perhaps thy make thee sin against me, if thou serve their god: which undoubtedly will be a scandal to thee.
