Philippians 4:1 | So my brothers, well loved and very dear to me, my joy and crown, be strong in the Lord, my loved ones. | So then, my brethren, beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand ye in the Lord, beloved. | Therefore, my brethren, dearly loved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand firm in the Lord, my dearly-loved ones. |
Philippians 4:2 | I make request to Euodias and Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord. | Euodia I exhort, and Syntyche I exhort, to be of the same mind in the Lord; | I entreat Euodia, and I entreat Syntyche, to be of one mind, as sisters in Christ. |
Philippians 4:3 | And I make request to you, true helper in my work, to see to the needs of those women who took part with me in the good news, with Clement and the rest of my brother-workers whose names are in the book of life. | and I ask also thee, genuine yoke-fellow, be assisting those women who in the good news did strive along with me, with Clement also, and the others, my fellow-workers, whose names [are] in the book of life. | Yes, and I beg you also, my faithful yoke-fellow, to help these women who have shared my toil in connection with the Good News, together with Clement and the rest of my fellow labourers, whose names are recorded in the Book of Life. |
Philippians 4:4 | Be glad in the Lord at all times: again I say, Be glad. | Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice; | Always be glad in the Lord: I will repeat it, be glad. |
Philippians 4:5 | Let your gentle behaviour be clear to all men. The Lord is near. | let your forbearance be known to all men; the Lord [is] near; | Let your forbearing spirit be known to every one the Lord is near. |
Philippians 4:6 | Have no cares; but in everything with prayer and praise put your requests before God. | for nothing be anxious, but in everything by prayer, and by supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God; | Do not be over-anxious about anything, but by prayer and earnest pleading, together with thanksgiving, let your request be unreservedly made known in the presence of God. |
Philippians 4:7 | And the peace of God, which is deeper than all knowledge, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. | and the peace of God, that is surpassing all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. | And then the peace of God, which transcends all our powers of thought, will be a garrison to guard your hearts and minds in union with Christ Jesus. |
Philippians 4:8 | For the rest, my brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things have honour, whatever things are upright, whatever things are holy, whatever things are beautiful, whatever things are of value, if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, give thought to these things. | As to the rest, brethren, as many things as are true, as many as [are] grave, as many as [are] righteous, as many as [are] pure, as many as [are] lovely, as many as [are] of good report, if any worthiness, and if any praise, these things think upon; | Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever wins respect, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovable, whatever is of good repute if there is any virtue or anything deemed worthy of praise cherish the thought of these things. |
Philippians 4:9 | The things which came to you by my teaching and preaching, and which you saw in me, these things do, and the God of peace will be with you. | the things that also ye did learn, and receive, and hear, and saw in me, those do, and the God of the peace shall be with you. | The doctrines and the line of conduct which I taught you both what you heard and what you saw in me hold fast to them; and God who gives peace will be with you. |
Philippians 4:10 | But I am very glad in the Lord that your care for me has come to life again; though you did in fact take thought for me, but you were not able to give effect to it. | And I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at length ye flourished again in caring for me, for which also ye were caring, and lacked opportunity; | But I rejoice with a deep and holy joy that now at length you have revived your thoughtfulness for my welfare. Indeed you have always been thoughtful for me, although opportunity failed you. |
Philippians 4:11 | But I will not say anything about my needs, for I am able, wherever I am, to be dependent on myself. | not that in respect of want I say [it], for I did learn in the things in which I am to be content; | I do not refer to this through fear of privation, for (for my part) I have learned, whatever be my outward experiences, to be content. |
Philippians 4:12 | It is the same to me if I am looked down on or honoured; everywhere and in all things I have the secret of how to be full and how to go without food; how to have wealth and how to be in need. | I have known both to be abased, and I have known to abound; in everything and in all things I have been initiated, both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in want. | I know both how to live in humble circumstances and how to live amid abundance. I am fully initiated into all the mysteries both of fulness and of hunger, of abundance and of want. |
Philippians 4:13 | I am able to do all things through him who gives me strength. | For all things I have strength, in Christ`s strengthening me; | I have strength for anything through Him who gives me power. |
Philippians 4:14 | But you did well to have care for me in my need. | but ye did well, having communicated with my tribulation; | Yet I thank you for taking your share in my troubles. |
Philippians 4:15 | And you have knowledge, Philippians, that when the good news first came to you, when I went away from Macedonia, no church took part with me in the business of giving to the saints, but you only; | and ye have known, even ye Philippians, that in the beginning of the good news when I went forth from Macedonia, no assembly did communicate with me in regard to giving and receiving except ye only; | And you men and women of Philippi also know that at the first preaching of the Good News, when I had left Macedonia, no other Church except yourselves held communication with me about giving and receiving; |
Philippians 4:16 | Because even in Thessalonica you sent once and again to me in my need. | because also in Thessalonica, both once and again to my need ye sent; | because even in Thessalonica you sent several times to minister to my needs. |
Philippians 4:17 | Not that I am looking for an offering, but for fruit which may be put to your credit. | not that I seek after the gift, but I seek after the fruit that is overflowing to your account; | Not that I crave for gifts from you, but I do want to see abundant fruit bring you honour. |
Philippians 4:18 | I have all things and more than enough: I am made full, having had from Epaphroditus the things which came from you, a perfume of a sweet smell, an offering well pleasing to God. | and I have all things, and abound; I am filled, having received from Epaphroditus the things from you an odour of a sweet smell a sacrifice acceptable, well-pleasing to God: | I have enough of everything and more than enough. My wants are fully satisfied now that I have received from the hands of Epaphroditus the generous gifts which you sent me they are a fragrant odor, an acceptable sacrifice, truly pleasing to God. |
Philippians 4:19 | And my God will give you all you have need of from the wealth of his glory in Christ Jesus. | and my God shall supply all your need, according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus; | But my God so great is His wealth of glory in Christ Jesus will fully supply every need of yours. |
Philippians 4:20 | Now to God our Father be glory for ever and ever. So be it. | and to God, even our Father, [is] the glory to the ages of the ages. Amen. | And to our God and Father be the glory throughout the Ages of the Ages! Amen. |
Philippians 4:21 | Give words of love to every saint in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me send you their love. | Salute ye every saint in Christ Jesus; there salute you the brethren with me; | My Christian greetings to every one of God's people. The brethren who are with me send their greetings. |
Philippians 4:22 | All the saints send their love to you, specially those who are of Caesar's house. | there salute you all the saints, and specially those of Caesar`s house; | All God's people here greet you especially the members of Caesar's household. |
Philippians 4:23 | The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. | the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [is] with you all. Amen. | May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirits. |
