John 7:1And after these things Jesus walked in Galilee, for he would not walk in Judaea, because the Jews sought to kill him.And after these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Judaea, because the Jews sought to kill him. After this, Jesus went from place to place in Galilee. He did not go about in Judaea, because the Jews were looking for a chance to put him to death.
John 7:2Now the tabernacles, the feast of the Jews, was near. Now the feast of the Jews, the feast of tabernacles, was at hand. But the feast of the Jews, the feast of tents, was near.
John 7:3His brethren therefore said to him, Remove hence and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see thy works which thou doest; His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may behold thy works which thou doest. So his brothers said to him, Go away from here into Judaea so that your disciples may see the works which you do.
John 7:4for no one does anything in secret and himself seeks to be [known] in public. If thou doest these things, manifest thyself to the world:For no man doeth anything in secret, and himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou doest these things, manifest thyself to the world. Because no man does things secretly if he has a desire that men may have knowledge of him. If you do these things, let yourself be seen by all men.
John 7:5for neither did his brethren believe on him.For even his brethren did not believe on him. For even his brothers had no belief in him.
John 7:6Jesus therefore says to them, My time is not yet come, but your time is always ready.Jesus therefore saith unto them, My time is not yet come; but your time is always ready. Jesus said to them, My time is still to come, but any time is good for you.
John 7:7The world cannot hate you, but me it hates, because I bear witness concerning it that its works are evil. The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that its works are evil. It is not possible for you to be hated by the world; but I am hated by it, because I give witness that what it does is evil.
John 7:8Ye, go ye up to this feast. I go not up to this feast, for *my* time is not yet fulfilled.Go ye up unto the feast: I go not up unto this feast; because my time is not yet fulfilled. Go you up to the feast: I am not going up now to the feast because my time has not fully come.
John 7:9Having said these things to them he abode in Galilee. And having said these things unto them, he abode [still] in Galilee. Having said these things to them, he still kept in Galilee.
John 7:10But when his brethren had gone up, then he himself also went up to the feast, not openly, but as in secret. But when his brethren were gone up unto the feast, then went he also up, not publicly, but as it were in secret. But after his brothers had gone up to the feast, then he went up, not publicly, but in secret.
John 7:11The Jews therefore sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?The Jews therefore sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he? At the feast the Jews were looking for him and saying, Where is he?
John 7:12And there was much murmuring concerning him among the crowds. Some said, He is [a] good [man]; others said, No; but he deceives the crowd. And there was much murmuring among the multitudes concerning him: some said, He is a good man; others said, Not so, but he leadeth the multitude astray. And there was much discussion about him among the mass of the people. Some said, He is a good man; but others said, No, he is giving people false ideas.
John 7:13However, no one spoke openly concerning him on account of [their] fear of the Jews.Yet no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews. But no man said anything about him openly for fear of the Jews.
John 7:14But when it was now the middle of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple and taught. But when it was now the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught. Now in the middle of the feast Jesus went up to the Temple and was teaching.
John 7:15The Jews therefore wondered, saying, How knows this [man] letters, having never learned? The Jews therefore marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned? Then the Jews were surprised and said, How has this man got knowledge of books? He has never been to school.
John 7:16Jesus therefore answered them and said, My doctrine is not mine, but [that] of him that has sent me.Jesus therefore answered them and said, My teaching is not mine, but his that sent me. Jesus gave them this answer: It is not my teaching, but his who sent me.
John 7:17If any one desire to practise his will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is of God, or [that] I speak from myself. If any man willeth to do his will, he shall know of the teaching, whether it is of God, or [whether] I speak from myself. If any man is ready to do God's pleasure he will have knowledge of the teaching and of where it comes from from God or from myself.
John 7:18He that speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but he that seeks the glory of him that has sent him, he is true, and unrighteousness is not in him.He that speaketh from himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh the glory of him that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him. The man whose words come from himself is looking for glory for himself, but he who is looking for the glory of him who sent him that man is true and there is no evil in him.
John 7:19Has not Moses given you the law, and no one of you practises the law? Why do ye seek to kill me?Did not Moses give you the law, and [yet] none of you doeth the law? Why seek ye to kill me? Did not Moses give you the law? Even so, not one of you keeps the law. Why have you a desire to put me to death?
John 7:20The crowd answered [and said], Thou hast a demon: who seeks to kill thee? The multitude answered, Thou hast a demon: who seeketh to kill thee? The people said in answer, You have an evil spirit: who has any desire to put you to death?
John 7:21Jesus answered and said to them, I have done one work, and ye all wonder.Jesus answered and said unto them, I did one work, and ye all marvel because thereof. This was the answer of Jesus: I have done one work and you are all surprised at it.
John 7:22Therefore Moses gave you circumcision (not that it is of Moses, but of the fathers), and ye circumcise a man on sabbath.Moses hath given you circumcision (not that it is of Moses, but of the fathers); and on the sabbath ye circumcise a man. Moses gave you circumcision not that it comes from Moses, but from the fathers and even on the Sabbath you give a child circumcision.
John 7:23If a man receives circumcision on sabbath, that the law of Moses may not be violated, are ye angry with me because I have made a man entirely sound on sabbath? If a man receiveth circumcision on the sabbath, that the law of Moses may not be broken; are ye wroth with me, because I made a man every whit whole on the sabbath? If a child is given circumcision on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses may not be broken, why are you angry with me because I made a man completely well on the Sabbath?
John 7:24Judge not according to sight, but judge righteous judgment.Judge not according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment. Let not your decisions be based on what you see, but on righteousness.
John 7:25Some therefore of those of Jerusalem said, Is not this he whom they seek to kill? Some therefore of them of Jerusalem said, Is not this he whom they seek to kill? Then some of the people of Jerusalem said, Is not this the man whose death is desired?
John 7:26and behold, he speaks openly, and they say nothing to him. Have the rulers then indeed recognised that this is the Christ? And lo, he speaketh openly, and they say nothing unto him. Can it be that the rulers indeed know that this is the Christ? And here he is talking openly and they say nothing to him! Is it possible that the rulers have knowledge that this is truly the Christ?
John 7:27But [as to] this [man] we know whence he is. Now [as to] the Christ, when he comes, no one knows whence he is.Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when the Christ cometh, no one knoweth whence he is. However, it is clear to us where this man comes from: but when the Christ comes no one will have knowledge where he comes from.
John 7:28Jesus therefore cried out in the temple, teaching and saying, Ye both know me and ye know whence I am; and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye do not know.Jesus therefore cried in the temple, teaching and saying, Ye both know me, and know whence I am; and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not. Then, when he was teaching in the Temple, Jesus said with a loud voice, You have knowledge of me and you have knowledge of where I come from; and I have not come of myself; but there is One who has sent me; he is true, but you have no knowledge of him.
John 7:29I know him, because I am from him, and *he* has sent me.I know him; because I am from him, and he sent me. I have knowledge of him because I came from him and he sent me.
John 7:30They sought therefore to take him; and no one laid his hand upon him, because his hour had not yet come. They sought therefore to take him: and no man laid his hand on him, because his hour was not yet come. Then they had a desire to take him: but no man put hands on him because his hour was still to come.
John 7:31But many of the crowd believed on him, and said, Will the Christ, when he comes, do more signs than those which this [man] has done? But of the multitude many believed on him; and they said, When the Christ shall come, will he do more signs than those which this man hath done? And numbers of the people had belief in him, and they said, When the Christ comes will he do more signs than this man has done?
John 7:32The Pharisees heard the crowd murmuring these things concerning him, and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers that they might take him.The Pharisees heard the multitude murmuring these things concerning him; and the chief priests and the Pharisees sent officers to take him. This discussion of the people came to the ears of the Pharisees; and the chief priests and the Pharisees sent servants to take him.
John 7:33Jesus therefore said, Yet a little while I am with you, and I go to him that has sent me.Jesus therefore said, Yet a little while am I with you, and I go unto him that sent me. Then Jesus said, I will be with you a little longer and then I go to him who sent me.
John 7:34Ye shall seek me and shall not find [me], and where I am ye cannot come.Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, ye cannot come. You will be looking for me, and you will not see me: and where I am you may not come.
John 7:35The Jews therefore said to one another, Where is he about to go that we shall not find him? Is he about to go to the dispersion among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks? The Jews therefore said among themselves, Whither will this man go that we shall not find him? will he go unto the Dispersion among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks? So the Jews said among themselves, To what place is he going where we will not see him? will he go to the Jews living among the Greeks and become the teacher of the Greeks?
John 7:36What word is this which he said, Ye shall seek me and shall not find [me]; and where I am ye cannot come? What is this word that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me; and where I am, ye cannot come? What is this saying of his, You will be looking for me and will not see me, and where I am you may not come?
John 7:37In the last, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried saying, If any one thirst, let him come to me and drink. Now on the last day, the great [day] of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink. On the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus got up and said in a loud voice, If any man is in need of drink let him come to me and I will give it to him.
John 7:38He that believes on me, as the scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, from within him shall flow rivers of living water. He who has faith in me, out of his body, as the Writings have said, will come rivers of living water.
John 7:39But this he said concerning the Spirit, which they that believed on him were about to receive; for [the] Spirit was not yet, because Jesus had not yet been glorified. But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believed on him were to receive: for the Spirit was not yet [given]; because Jesus was not yet glorified. This he said of the Spirit which would be given to those who had faith in him: the Spirit had not been given then, because the glory of Jesus was still to come.
John 7:40[Some] out of the crowd therefore, having heard this word, said, This is truly the prophet.[Some] of the multitude therefore, when they heard these words, said, This is of a truth the prophet. When these words came to their ears, some of the people said, This is certainly the prophet.
John 7:41Others said, This is the Christ. Others said, Does then the Christ come out of Galilee?Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, What, doth the Christ come out of Galilee? Others said, This is the Christ. But others said, Not so; will the Christ come from Galilee?
John 7:42Has not the scripture said that the Christ comes of the seed of David, and from the village of Bethlehem, where David was?Hath not the scripture said that the Christ cometh of the seed of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was? Do not the Writings say that the Christ comes of the seed of David and from Beth-lehem, the little town where David was?
John 7:43There was a division therefore in the crowd on account of him.So there arose a division in the multitude because of him. So there was a division among the people because of him.
John 7:44But some of them desired to take him, but no one laid hands upon him.And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him. And some of them had a desire to take him; but no man put hands on him.
John 7:45The officers therefore came to the chief priests and Pharisees, and they said to them, Why have ye not brought him?The officers therefore came to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why did ye not bring him? Then the servants went back to the chief priests and Pharisees, who said to them, Why have you not got him with you?
John 7:46The officers answered, Never man spoke thus, as this man [speaks].The officers answered, Never a man so spake. The servants made answer, No man ever said things like this man.
John 7:47The Pharisees therefore answered them, Are ye also deceived? The Pharisees therefore answered them, Are ye also led astray? Then the Pharisees said to them, Have you, like the others, been given false ideas?
John 7:48Has any one of the rulers believed on him, or of the Pharisees?Hath any of the rulers believed on him, or of the Pharisees? Have any of the rulers belief in him, or any one of the Pharisees?
John 7:49But this crowd, which does not know the law, are accursed. But this multitude that knoweth not the law are accursed. But these people who have no knowledge of the law are cursed.
John 7:50Nicodemus says to them (being one of themselves),Nicodemus saith unto them (he that came to him before, being one of them), Nicodemus he who had come to Jesus before, being himself one of them said to them,
John 7:51Does our law judge a man before it have first heard from himself, and know what he does?Doth our law judge a man, except it first hear from himself and know what he doeth? Is a man judged by our law before it has given him a hearing and has knowledge of what he has done?
John 7:52They answered and said to him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search and look, that no prophet arises out of Galilee. They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and see that out of Galilee ariseth no prophet. This was their answer: And do you come from Galilee? Make search and you will see that no prophet comes out of Galilee.
John 7:53And every one went to his home.And they went every man unto his own house: [And every man went to his house;
