Hebrews 13:1Let brotherly love abide.Let love of the brethren continue. Let brotherly love always continue.
Hebrews 13:2Be not forgetful of hospitality; for by it some have unawares entertained angels.Forget not to show love unto strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. Do not neglect to show kindness to strangers; for, in this way, some, without knowing it, have had angels as their guests.
Hebrews 13:3Remember prisoners, as bound with [them]; those that are evil-treated, as being yourselves also in [the] body.Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; them that are illtreated, as being yourselves also in the body. Remember prisoners, as if you were in prison with them; and remember those suffering ill-treatment, for you yourselves also are still in the body.
Hebrews 13:4[Let] marriage [be held] every way in honour, and the bed [be] undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers will God judge.[Let] marriage [be] had in honor among all, and [let] the bed [be] undefiled: for fornicators and adulterers God will judge. Let marriage be held in honour among all, and let the marriage bed be unpolluted; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
Hebrews 13:5[Let your] conversation [be] without love of money, satisfied with [your] present circumstances; for *he* has said, I will not leave thee, neither will I forsake thee.Be ye free from the love of money; content with such things as ye have: for himself hath said, I will in no wise fail thee, neither will I in any wise forsake thee. Your lives should be untainted by love for money. Be content with what you have; for God Himself has said, "I will never, never let go your hand: I will never never forsake you."
Hebrews 13:6So that, taking courage, we may say, The Lord [is] my helper, and I will not be afraid: what will man do unto me?So that with good courage we say, The Lord is my helper; I will not fear: What shall man do unto me? So that we fearlessly say, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid: what can man do to me?"
Hebrews 13:7Remember your leaders who have spoken to you the word of God; and considering the issue of their conversation, imitate their faith.Remember them that had the rule over you, men that spake unto you the word of God; and considering the issue of their life, imitate their faith. Remember your former leaders it was they who brought you God's Message. Bear in mind how they ended their lives, and imitate their faith.
Hebrews 13:8Jesus Christ [is] the same yesterday, and to-day, and to the ages [to come].Jesus Christ [is] the same yesterday and to-day, [yea] and for ever. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and to-day yes, and to the ages to come.
Hebrews 13:9Be not carried away with various and strange doctrines; for [it is] good that the heart be confirmed with grace, not meats; those who have walked in which have not been profited by [them].Be not carried away by divers and strange teachings: for it is good that the heart be established by grace; not by meats, wherein they that occupied themselves were not profited. Do not be drawn aside by all sorts of strange teaching; for it is well to have the heart made stedfast through God's grace, and not by special kinds of food, from which those who scrupulously attend to them have derived no benefit.
Hebrews 13:10We have an altar of which they have no right to eat who serve the tabernacle; We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat that serve the tabernacle. We Christians have an altar from which the ministers of the Jewish Tent have no right to eat.
Hebrews 13:11for of those beasts whose blood is carried [as sacrifices for sin] into the [holy of] holies by the high priest, of these the bodies are burned outside the camp. For the bodies of those beasts whose blood is brought into the holy place by the high priest [as an offering] for sin, are burned without the camp. For the bodies of those animals of which the blood is carried by the High Priest into the Holy place as an offering for sin, are burned outside the camp.
Hebrews 13:12Wherefore also Jesus, that he might sanctify the people by his own blood, suffered without the gate:Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people through his own blood, suffered without the gate. And for this reason Jesus also, in order, by His own blood, to set the people free from sin, suffered outside the gate.
Hebrews 13:13therefore let us go forth to him without the camp, bearing his reproach:Let us therefore go forth unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach. Therefore let us go to Him outside the camp, sharing the insults directed against Him.
Hebrews 13:14for we have not here an abiding city, but we seek the coming one.For we have not here an abiding city, but we seek after [the city] which is to come. For we have no permanent city here, but we are longing for the city which is soon to be ours.
Hebrews 13:15By him therefore let us offer [the] sacrifice of praise continually to God, that is, [the] fruit of [the] lips confessing his name.Through him then let us offer up a sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of lips which make confession to his name. Through Him, then, let us continually lay on the altar a sacrifice of praise to God, namely, the utterance of lips that give thanks to His Name.
Hebrews 13:16But of doing good and communicating [of your substance] be not forgetful, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. And do not forget to be kind and liberal; for with sacrifices of that sort God is greatly pleased.
Hebrews 13:17Obey your leaders, and be submissive; for *they* watch over your souls as those that shall give account; that they may do this with joy, and not groaning, for this [would be] unprofitable for you.Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit [to them]: for they watch in behalf of your souls, as they that shall give account; that they may do this with joy, and not with grief: for this [were] unprofitable for you. Obey your leaders and be submissive to them. For they are keeping watch over your souls as those who will have to give account; that they may do this with joy and not with lamentation. For that would be of no advantage to you.
Hebrews 13:18Pray for us: for we persuade ourselves that we have a good conscience, in all things desirous to walk rightly.Pray for us: for we are persuaded that we have a good conscience, desiring to live honorably in all things. Keep on praying for us; for we are sure that we have clear consciences, and we desire to live nobly in every respect.
Hebrews 13:19But I much more beseech [you] to do this, that I may the more quickly be restored to you.And I exhort [you] the more exceedingly to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner. I specially urge this upon you in order that I may be the more speedily restored to you.
Hebrews 13:20But the God of peace, who brought again from among [the] dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, in [the power of the] blood of [the] eternal covenant,Now the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep with the blood of an eternal covenant, [even] our Lord Jesus, Now may God who gives peace, and brought Jesus, our Lord, up again from among the dead even Him who, by virtue of the blood of the eternal Covenant, is the great Shepherd of the sheep
Hebrews 13:21perfect you in every good work to the doing of his will, doing in you what is pleasing before him through Jesus Christ; to whom [be] glory for the ages of ages. Amen.make you perfect in every good thing to do his will, working in us that which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom [be] the glory for ever and ever. Hebrews 13:22But I beseech you, brethren, bear the word of exhortation, for it is but in few words that I have written to you.But I exhort you, brethren, bear with the word of exhortation, for I have written unto you in few words. Bear with me, brethren, when I thus exhort you; for, in fact, it is but a short letter that I have written to you.
Hebrews 13:23Know that our brother Timotheus is set at liberty; with whom, if he should come soon, I will see you.Know ye that our brother Timothy hath been set at liberty; with whom, if he come shortly, I will see you. You will rejoice to hear that our brother Timothy has been set at liberty. If he comes soon, I will see you with him.
Hebrews 13:24Salute all your leaders, and all the saints. They from Italy salute you.Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you. Greet all your leaders and all God's people. The brethren from Italy send you greetings.
