| Luke 17:1 | And he said to his disciples, It cannot be but that offences come, but woe [to him] by whom they come! | And he said unto his disciples, It is impossible but that occasions of stumbling should come; but woe unto him, through whom they come! | Jesus said to His disciples, "It is inevitable that causes of stumbling should come; but alas for him through whom they come! |
| Luke 17:2 | It would be [more] profitable for him if a millstone were hanged about his neck and he cast into the sea, than that he should be a snare to one of these little ones. | It were well for him if a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, rather than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble. | It would be well for him if, with a millstone round his neck, he were lying at the bottom of the sea, rather than that he should cause even one of these little ones to fall. |

| Luke 17:8 | But will he not say to him, Prepare what I shall sup on, and gird thyself and serve me that I may eat and drink; and after that *thou* shalt eat and drink? | and will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink? | and will not rather say to him, `Get my dinner ready, make yourself tidy, and wait upon me till I have finished my dinner, and then you shall have yours'? |
| Luke 17:9 | Is he thankful to the bondman because he has done what was ordered? I judge not. | Doth he thank the servant because he did the things that were commanded? | Does he thank the servant for obeying his orders? |
