Philippians 3:1 | For the rest, my brethren, rejoice in [the] Lord: to write the same things to you, to me [is] not irksome, and for you safe. | Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not irksome, but for you it is safe. | In conclusion, my brethren, be joyful in the Lord. For me to give you the same warnings as before is not irksome to me, while so far as you are concerned it is a safe precaution. |
Philippians 3:2 | See to dogs, see to evil workmen, see to the concision. | Beware of the dogs, beware of the evil workers, beware of the concision: | Beware of `the dogs,' the bad workmen, the self-mutilators. |
Philippians 3:3 | For *we* are the circumcision, who worship by [the] Spirit of God, and boast in Christ Jesus, and do not trust in flesh. | for we are the circumcision, who worship by the Spirit of God, and glory in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh: | For we are the true circumcision we who render to God a spiritual worship and make our boast in Christ Jesus and have no confidence in outward ceremonies: |
Philippians 3:4 | Though *I* have [my] trust even in flesh; if any other think to trust in flesh, *I* rather: | though I myself might have confidence even in the flesh: if any other man thinketh to have confidence in the flesh, I yet more: | although I myself might have some excuse for confidence in outward ceremonies. If any one else claims a right to trust in them, far more may I: |
Philippians 3:5 | as to circumcision, [I received it] the eighth day; of [the] race of Israel, of [the] tribe of Benjamin, Hebrew of Hebrews; as to [the] law, a Pharisee; | circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee; | circumcised, as I was, on the eighth day, a member of the race of Israel and of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew sprung from Hebrews; as to the Law a Pharisee; |
Philippians 3:6 | as to zeal, persecuting the assembly; as to righteousness which [is] in [the] law, found blameless; | as touching zeal, persecuting the church; as touching the righteousness which is in the law, found blameless. | as to zeal, a persecutor of the Church; as to the righteousness which comes through Law, blameless. |
Philippians 3:7 | but what things were gain to me these I counted, on account of Christ, loss. | Howbeit what things were gain to me, these have I counted loss for Christ. | Yet all that was gain to me for Christ's sake I have reckoned it loss. |
Philippians 3:8 | But surely I count also all things to be loss on account of the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, on account of whom I have suffered the loss of all, and count them to be filth, that I may gain Christ; | Yea verily, and I count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but refuse, that I may gain Christ, | Nay, I even reckon all things as pure loss because of the priceless privilege of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. And for His sake I have suffered the loss of everything, and reckon it all as mere refuse, in order that I may win Christ and be found in union with Him, |
Philippians 3:9 | and that I may be found in him, not having my righteousness, which [would be] on the principle of law, but that which is by faith of Christ, the righteousness which [is] of God through faith, | and be found in him, not having a righteousness of mine own, [even] that which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith: | not having a righteousness of my own, derived from the Law, but that which arises from faith in Christ the righteousness which comes from God through faith. |
Philippians 3:10 | to know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being conformed to his death, | that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, becoming conformed unto his death; | I long to know Christ and the power which is in His resurrection, and to share in His sufferings and die even as He died; |
Philippians 3:11 | if any way I arrive at the resurrection from among [the] dead. | if by any means I may attain unto the resurrection from the dead. | in the hope that I may attain to the resurrection from among the dead. |
Philippians 3:12 | Not that I have already obtained [the prize], or am already perfected; but I pursue, if also I may get possession [of it], seeing that also I have been taken possession of by Christ [Jesus]. | Not that I have already obtained, or am already made perfect: but I press on, if so be that I may lay hold on that for which also I was laid hold on by Christ Jesus. | I do not say that I have already won the race or have already reached perfection. But I am pressing on, striving to lay hold of the prize for which also Christ has laid hold of me. |
Philippians 3:13 | Brethren, *I* do not count to have got possession myself; but one thing forgetting the things behind, and stretching out to the things before, | Brethren, I could not myself yet to have laid hold: but one thing [I do], forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, | Brethren, I do not imagine that I have yet laid hold of it. But this one thing I do forgetting everything which is past and stretching forward to what lies in front of me, |
Philippians 3:14 | I pursue, [looking] towards [the] goal, for the prize of the calling on high of God in Christ Jesus. | I press on toward the goal unto the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. | with my eyes fixed on the goal I push on to secure the prize of God's heavenward call in Christ Jesus. |
Philippians 3:15 | As many therefore as [are] perfect, let us be thus minded; and if ye are any otherwise minded, this also God shall reveal to you. | Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, be thus minded: and if in anything ye are otherwise minded, this also shall God reveal unto you: | Therefore let all of us who are mature believers cherish these thoughts; and if in any respect you think differently, that also God will make clear to you. |
Philippians 3:16 | But whereto we have attained, [let us] walk in the same steps. | only, whereunto we have attained, by that same [rule] let us walk. | But whatever be the point that we have already reached, let us persevere in the same course. |
Philippians 3:17 | Be imitators [all] together of me, brethren, and fix your eyes on those walking thus as you have us for a model; | Brethren, be ye imitators together of me, and mark them that so walk even as ye have us for an ensample. | Brethren, vie with one another in imitating me, and carefully observe those who follow the example which we have set you. |
Philippians 3:18 | (for many walk of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they [are] the enemies of the cross of Christ: | For many walk, of whom I told you often, and now tell you even weeping, [that they are] the enemies of the cross of Christ: | For there are many whom I have often described to you, and I now even with tears describe them, as being enemies to the Cross of Christ. |
Philippians 3:19 | whose end [is] destruction, whose god [is] the belly, and [their] glory in their shame, who mind earthly things:) | whose end is perdition, whose god is the belly, and [whose] glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things. | Their end is destruction, their bellies are their God, their glory is in their shame, and their minds are devoted to earthly things. |
Philippians 3:20 | for *our* commonwealth has its existence in [the] heavens, from which also we await the Lord Jesus Christ [as] Saviour, | For our citizenship is in heaven; whence also we wait for a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: | We, however, are free citizens of Heaven, and we are waiting with longing expectation for the coming from Heaven of a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, |
Philippians 3:21 | who shall transform our body of humiliation into conformity to his body of glory, according to the working of [the] power which he has even to subdue all things to himself. | who shall fashion anew the body of our humiliation, [that it may be] conformed to the body of his glory, according to the working whereby he is able even to subject all things unto himself. | who, in the exercise of the power which He has even to subject all things to Himself, will transform this body of our humiliation until it resembles His own glorious body. |
