| John 16:1 | These things I have spoken unto you that ye may not be offended. | These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be caused to stumble. | "These things have I spoken to you, so that you wouldn't be caused to stumble. |
| John 16:2 | They shall put you out of the synagogues; but the hour is coming that every one who kills you will think to render service to God; | They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the hour cometh, that whosoever killeth you shall think that he offereth service unto God. | They will put you out of the synagogues. Yes, the time comes that whoever kills you will think that he offers service to God. |
| John 16:3 | and these things they will do because they have not known the Father nor me. | And these things will they do, because they have not known the Father, nor me. | They will do these things because they have not known the Father, nor me. |
| John 16:4 | But I have spoken these things to you, that when their hour shall have come, ye may remember them, that I have said [them] unto you. But I did not say these things unto you from [the] beginning, because I was with you. | But these things have I spoken unto you, that when their hour is come, ye may remember them, how that I told you. And these things I said not unto you from the beginning, because I was with you. | But I have told you these things, so that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you about them. | John 16:5 | But now I go to him that has sent me, and none of you demands of me, Where goest thou? | But now I go unto him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou? | But now I am going to him who sent me, and none of you asks me, 'Where are you going?' |
| John 16:6 | But because I have spoken these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. | But because I have spoken these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart. | But because I have told you these things, sorrow has filled your heart. |
| John 16:7 | But I say the truth to you, It is profitable for you that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I go I will send him to you. | Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is expedient for you that I go away; for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I go, I will send him unto you. | Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away, for if I don't go away, the Counselor won't come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. |
| John 16:8 | And having come, he will bring demonstration to the world, of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: | And he, when he is come, will convict the world in respect of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: | When he has come, he will convict the world in respect to sin, and righteousness, and judgment; |

| John 16:10 | of righteousness, because I go away to [my] Father, and ye behold me no longer; | of righteousness, because I go to the Father, and ye behold me no more; | of righteousness, because I am going to my Father, and you see me no more; |

| John 16:19 | Jesus knew therefore that they desired to demand of him, and said to them, Do ye inquire of this among yourselves that I said, A little while and ye do not behold me; and again a little while and ye shall see me? | Jesus perceived that they were desirous to ask him, and he said unto them, Do ye inquire among yourselves concerning this, that I said, A little while, and ye behold me not, and again a little while, and ye shall see me? | Therefore Jesus perceived that they wanted to ask him, and he said to them, "Do you inquire among yourselves concerning this, that I said, 'A little while, and you won't see me, and again a little while, and you will see me?' |
| John 16:20 | Verily, verily, I say to you, that ye shall weep and lament, ye, but the world shall rejoice; and ye will be grieved, but your grief shall be turned to joy. | Verily, verily, I say unto you, that ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. | Most assuredly I tell you, that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. | John 16:21 | A woman, when she gives birth to a child, has grief because her hour has come; but when the child is born, she no longer remembers the trouble, on account of the joy that a man has been born into the world. | A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but when she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for the joy that a man is born into the world. | A woman, when she is in travail, has sorrow, because her time has come. But when she has delivered the child, she doesn't remember the anguish any more, for the joy that a child is born into the world. |
