Matthew 25:1Then shall the kingdom of the heavens be made like to ten virgins that having taken their torches, went forth to meet the bridegroom.Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins, the friends of the bride, who took their lights, and went out with the purpose of meeting the husband.Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
Matthew 25:2And five of them were prudent and five foolish.And five of them were foolish, and five were wise.And five of them were foolish, and five were wise.
Matthew 25:3They that were foolish took their torches and did not take oil with them;For the foolish, when they took their lights, took no oil with them.For the foolish, when they took their lamps, took no oil with them:
Matthew 25:4but the prudent took oil in their vessels with their torches.But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lights.but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
Matthew 25:5Now the bridegroom tarrying, they all grew heavy and slept.Now the husband was a long time in coming, and they all went to sleep.Now while the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
Matthew 25:6But in [the] middle of [the] night there was a cry, Behold, the bridegroom; go forth to meet him.But in the middle of the night there is a cry, The husband comes! Go out to him.But at midnight there is a cry, Behold, the bridegroom! Come ye forth to meet him.
Matthew 25:7Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their torches.Then all those virgins got up, and made ready their lights.Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
Matthew 25:8And the foolish said to the prudent, Give us of your oil, for our torches are going out.And the foolish said to the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lights are going out.And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are going out.
Matthew 25:9But the prudent answered saying, [We cannot,] lest it might not suffice for us and for you. Go rather to those that sell, and buy for yourselves.But the wise made answer, saying, There may not be enough for us and you; it would be better for you to go to the traders and get oil for yourselves.But the wise answered, saying, Peradventure there will not be enough for us and you: go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
Matthew 25:10But as they went away to buy, the bridegroom came, and the [ones that were] ready went in with him to the wedding feast, and the door was shut.And while they went to get oil, the master came; and those who were ready went in with him to the feast: and the door was shut.And while they went away to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage feast: and the door was shut.
Matthew 25:11Afterwards come also the rest of the virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us;After that the other virgins came, saying, Lord, Lord, let us in.Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
Matthew 25:12but he answering said, Verily I say unto you, I do not know you.But he made answer and said, Truly I say to you, I have no knowledge of you.But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
Matthew 25:13Watch therefore, for ye know not the day nor the hour.Keep watch, then, because you are not certain of the day or of the hour.Watch therefore, for ye know not the day nor the hour.
Matthew 25:14For [it is] as [if] a man going away out of a country called his own bondmen and delivered to them his substance.For it is as when a man, about to take a journey, got his servants together, and gave them his property.For [it is] as [when] a man, going into another country, called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
Matthew 25:15And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to each according to his particular ability, and immediately went away out of the country.And to one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one; to everyone as he was able; and he went on his journey.And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one; to each according to his several ability; and he went on his journey.
Matthew 25:16And he that had received the five talents went and trafficked with them, and made five other talents.Straight away he who had been given the five talents went and did trade with them, and made five more.Straightway he that received the five talents went and traded with them, and made other five talents.
Matthew 25:17In like manner also he that [had received] the two, [he also] gained two others.In the same way he who had been given the two got two more.In like manner he also that [received] the two gained other two.
Matthew 25:18But he that had received the one went and dug in the earth, and hid the money of his lord.But he who was given the one went away and put it in a hole in the earth, and kept his lord's money in a secret place.But he that received the one went away and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money.
Matthew 25:19And after a long time the lord of those bondmen comes and reckons with them.Now after a long time the lord of those servants comes, and makes up his account with them.Now after a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and maketh a reckoning with them.
Matthew 25:20And he that had received the five talents came to [him] and brought five other talents, saying, [My] lord, thou deliveredst me five talents; behold, I have gained five other talents besides them.And he who had the five talents came with his other five talents, saying, Lord, you gave into my care five talents: see, I have got five more.And he that received the five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: lo, I have gained other five talents.
Matthew 25:21His lord said to him, Well, good and faithful bondman, thou wast faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things: enter into the joy of thy lord.His lord said to him, Well done, good and true servant: you have been true in a small thing, I will give you control over great things: take your part in the joy of your lord.His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
Matthew 25:22And he also that had received the two talents came to [him] and said, [My] lord, thou deliveredst me two talents; behold, I have gained two other talents besides them.And he who had the two talents came and said, Lord, you gave into my care two talents: see, I have got two more.And he also that [received] the two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: lo, I have gained other two talents.
Matthew 25:23His lord said to him, Well, good and faithful bondman, thou wast faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.His lord said to him, Well done, good and true servant: you have been true in a small thing, I will give you control over great things: take your part in the joy of your lord.His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
Matthew 25:24And he also that had received the one talent coming to [him] said, [My] lord, I knew thee that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou hadst not sowed, and gathering from where thou hadst not scattered,And he who had had the one talent came and said, Lord, I had knowledge that you are a hard man, getting in grain where you have not put seed, and making profits for which you have done no work:And he also that had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou didst not sow, and gathering where thou didst not scatter;
Matthew 25:25and being afraid I went away and hid thy talent in the earth; behold, thou hast that which is thine.And I was in fear, and went away, and put your talent in the earth: here is what is yours.and I was afraid, and went away and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, thou hast thine own.
Matthew 25:26And his lord answering said to him, Wicked and slothful bondman, thou knewest that I reap where I had not sowed, and gather from where I had not scattered;But his lord in answer said to him, You are a bad and unready servant; if you had knowledge that I get in grain where I did not put seed, and make profits for which I have done no work,But his lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I did not scatter;
Matthew 25:27thou oughtest then to have put my money to the money-changers, and when I came I should have got what is mine with interest.Why, then, did you not put my money in the bank, and at my coming I would have got back what is mine with interest?thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back mine own with interest.
Matthew 25:28Take therefore the talent from him, and give it to him that has the ten talents:Take away, then, his talent and give it to him who has the ten talents.Take ye away therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him that hath the ten talents.
Matthew 25:29for to every one that has shall be given, and he shall be in abundance; but from him that has not, that even which he has shall be taken from him.For to everyone who has will be given, and he will have more: but from him who has not, even what he has will be taken away.For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not, even that which he hath shall be taken away.
Matthew 25:30And cast out the useless bondman into the outer darkness; there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.And put out the servant who is of no profit into the outer dark: there will be weeping and cries of sorrow.And cast ye out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
Matthew 25:31But when the Son of man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then shall he sit down upon his throne of glory,But when the Son of man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then will he be seated in his glory:But when the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the angels with him, then shall he sit on the throne of his glory:
Matthew 25:32and all the nations shall be gathered before him; and he shall separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats;And before him all the nations will come together; and they will be parted one from another, as the sheep are parted from the goats by the keeper.and before him shall be gathered all the nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as the shepherd separateth the sheep from the goats;
Matthew 25:33and he will set the sheep on his right hand, and the goats on [his] left.And he will put the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left.and he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
Matthew 25:34Then shall the King say to those on his right hand, Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from [the] world's foundation:Then will the King say to those on his right, Come, you who have the blessing of my Father, into the kingdom made ready for you before the world was:Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
Matthew 25:35for I hungered, and ye gave me to eat; I thirsted, and ye gave me to drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me in;For I was in need of food, and you gave it to me: I was in need of drink, and you gave it to me: I was wandering, and you took me in;for I was hungry, and ye gave me to eat; I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me in;
Matthew 25:36naked, and ye clothed me; I was ill, and ye visited me; I was in prison, and ye came to me.I had no clothing, and you gave it to me: when I was ill, or in prison, you came to me.naked, and ye clothed me; I was sick, and ye visited me; I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
Matthew 25:37Then shall the righteous answer him saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungering, and nourished thee; or thirsting, and gave thee to drink?Then will the upright make answer to him, saying, Lord, when did we see you in need of food, and give it to you? or in need of drink, and give it to you?Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, and fed thee? or athirst, and gave thee drink?
Matthew 25:38and when saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in; or naked, and clothed thee?And when did we see you wandering, and take you in? or without clothing, and give it to you?And when saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
Matthew 25:39and when saw we thee ill, or in prison, and came to thee?And when did we see you ill, or in prison, and come to you?And when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
Matthew 25:40And the King answering shall say to them, Verily, I say to you, Inasmuch as ye have done it to one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it to me.And the King will make answer and say to them, Truly I say to you, Because you did it to the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it unto one of these my brethren, [even] these least, ye did it unto me.
Matthew 25:41Then shall he say also to those on the left, Go from me, cursed, into eternal fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:Then will he say to those on the left, Go from me, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire which is ready for the Evil One and his angels:Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels:
Matthew 25:42for I hungered, and ye gave me not to eat; I thirsted, and ye gave me not to drink;For I was in need of food, and you gave it not to me; I was in need of drink, and you gave it not to me:for I was hungry, and ye did not give me to eat; I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink;
Matthew 25:43I was a stranger, and ye took me not in; naked, and ye did not clothe me; ill, and in prison, and ye did not visit me.I was wandering, and you took me not in; without clothing, and you gave me no clothing; ill, and in prison, and you came not to me.I was a stranger, and ye took me not in; naked, and ye clothed me not; sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
Matthew 25:44Then shall *they* also answer saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungering, or thirsting, or a stranger, or naked, or ill, or in prison, and have not ministered to thee?Then will they make answer, saying, Lord, when did we see you in need of food or drink, or wandering, or without clothing, or ill, or in prison, and did not take care of you?Then shall they also answer, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
Matthew 25:45Then shall he answer them saying, Verily I say to you, Inasmuch as ye have not done it to one of these least, neither have ye done it to me.Then will he make answer to them, saying, Truly I say to you, Because you did it not to the least of these, you did it not to me.Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not unto one of these least, ye did it not unto me.
Matthew 25:46And these shall go away into eternal punishment, and the righteous into life eternal.And these will go away into eternal punishment; but the upright into eternal life.And these shall go away into eternal punishment: but the righteous into eternal life.
