Ezekiel 15:1 | And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, | And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, | And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, |
Ezekiel 15:2 | Son of man, what is the wood of the vine more than any wood, the vine-branch, which is among the trees of the forest? | Son of man, what is the vine-tree more than any branching tree which is among the trees of the woods? | Son of man, What is the vine tree more than any tree, or than a branch which is among the trees of the forest? |
Ezekiel 15:3 | Shall wood be taken thereof to do any work? or will [men] take a pin of it to hang any vessel thereon? | Will its wood be used for any work? do men make of it a pin for hanging any vessel on? | Shall wood be taken thereof to do any work? or will men take a pin of it to hang any vessel thereon? |
Ezekiel 15:4 | Behold, it is given to the fire for fuel: the fire consumeth both the ends of it, and the midst of it is burned; is it fit for [any] work? | See, it is put into the fire for burning: the fire has made a meal of its two ends and the middle part of it is burned; is it good for any work? | Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel; the fire devoureth both the ends of it, and the midst of it is burned. Is it meet for any work? |
Ezekiel 15:5 | Behold, when it was whole, it was used for no work; how much less when the fire hath consumed it, and it is burned, should it yet be used for any work? | Truly, before it was cut down, it was not used for any purpose: how much less, when the fire has made a meal of it and it is burned, will it be made into anything? | Behold, when it was whole, it was meet for no work: how much less shall it be meet yet for any work, when the fire hath devoured it, and it is burned? |
Ezekiel 15:6 | Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: As the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem. | For this cause the Lord has said: Like the vine-tree among the trees of the woods which I have given to the fire for burning, so will I give the people of Jerusalem. | Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; As the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem. |
Ezekiel 15:7 | And I will set my face against them: they shall go forth from [one] fire, and [another] fire shall devour them; and ye shall know that I [am] Jehovah when I set my face against them. | And my face will be turned against them; and though they have come out of the fire they will be burned up by it; and it will be clear to you that I am the Lord when my face is turned against them. | And I will set my face against them; they shall go out from one fire, and another fire shall devour them; and ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I set my face against them. |
Ezekiel 15:8 | And I will make the land a desolation, because they have wrought unfaithfulness, saith the Lord Jehovah. | And I will make the land a waste because they have done evil, says the Lord. | And I will make the land desolate, because they have committed a trespass, saith the Lord GOD. |
