| Romans 9:1 | I say [the] truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience bearing witness with me in [the] Holy Spirit, | I say what is true in Christ, and not what is false, my mind giving witness with me in the Holy Spirit, | I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me testimony in the Holy Spirit, |
| Romans 9:2 | that I have great grief and uninterrupted pain in my heart, | That I am full of sorrow and pain without end. | That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart. |

Shall the thing formed say to him that has formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? | But, O man, who are you, to make answer against God? May the thing which is made say to him who made it, Why did you make me so? | No, but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? |
| Romans 9:21 | Or has not the potter authority over the clay, out of the same lump to make one vessel to honour, and another to dishonour? | Or has not the potter the right to make out of one part of his earth a vessel for honour, and out of another a vessel for shame? | Hath not the potter power over the clay of the same lump to make one vessel to honor, and another to dishonor? |
| Romans 9:22 | And if God, minded to shew his wrath and to make his power known, endured with much long-suffering vessels of wrath fitted for destruction; | What if God, desiring to let his wrath and his power be seen, for a long time put up with the vessels of wrath which were ready for destruction: | What if God, willing to show his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much long-suffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: |

| Romans 9:28 | for [he] is bringing the matter to an end, and [cutting [it] short in righteousness; because] a cutting short of the matter will [the] Lord accomplish upon the earth. | For the Lord will give effect to his word on the earth, putting an end to it and cutting it short. | For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth. |

That the Gentiles who followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is by faith: |
| Romans 9:31 | But Israel, pursuing after a law of righteousness, has not attained to [that] law. | But Israel, going after a law of righteousness, did not get it. | But Israel, who followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness. |
| Romans 9:32 | Wherefore? Because [it was] not on the principle of faith, but as of works. They have stumbled at the stumblingstone, | Why? Because they were not searching for it by faith, but by works. They came up against the stone which was in the way; | Why? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumbling-stone; |
| Romans 9:33 | according as it is written, Behold, I place in Zion a stone of stumbling and rock of offence: and he that believes on him shall not be ashamed. | As it is said, See, I am putting in Zion a stone causing a fall, and a rock in the way: but he who has faith in him will not be put to shame. | As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumbling-stone, and rock of offense: and whoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. |
