| Hebrews 2:1 | For this reason we should give heed more abundantly to the things [we have] heard, lest in any way we should slip away. | For this reason there is the more need for us to give attention to the things which have come to our ears, for fear that by chance we might be slipping away. | Because of this it behoveth [us] more abundantly to take heed to the things heard, lest we may glide aside, |
| Hebrews 2:2 | For if the word which was spoken by angels was firm, and every transgression and disobedience received just retribution, | Because if the word which came through the angels was fixed, and in the past every evil act against God's orders was given its full punishment; | for if the word being spoken through messengers did become stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience did receive a just recompense, |
