He comes like an eagle against the house of the Lord; because they have gone against my agreement, they have not kept my law. | `Unto thy mouth a trumpet, As an eagle against the house of Jehovah, Because they transgressed My covenant, And against My law they have rebelled. |

Hosea 8:6 | For from Israel is this also: a workman made it, and it is no God: for the calf of Samaria shall be [broken in] pieces. | The workman made it, it is no god; the ox of Samaria will be broken into bits. | For even it [is] of Israel; an artificer made it, And it [is] not God, For the calf of Samaria is fragments! |

Hosea 8:8 | Israel is swallowed up: now are they become among the nations as a vessel wherein is no pleasure. | Israel has come to destruction; now they are among the nations like a cup in which there is no pleasure. | Israel hath been swallowed up, Now they have been among nations, As a vessel in which is no delight. |

Hosea 8:12 | I have prescribed unto him the manifold things of my law: they are counted [as] a strange thing. | Though I put my law in writing for him in ten thousand rules, they are to him as a strange thing. | I write for him numerous things of My law, As a strange thing they have been reckoned. |

Now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt. | He gives the offerings of his lovers, and takes the flesh for food; but the Lord has no pleasure in them; now he will keep in mind their evil-doing and give them the punishment of their sins; they will go back to Egypt. | The sacrifices of Mine offerings! But I will send a fire on his towns and put an end to his great houses. | And forget doth Israel his Maker, and buildeth temples, And Judah hath multiplied cities of defence, And I have sent a fire into his cities, And it hath consumed their palaces! |
