Hebrews 4:1Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left of entering into his rest, any one of you might seem to have failed [of it].Let us fear therefore lest the promise being left of entering into his rest, any of you should be thought to be wanting.Let us fear therefore, lest haply, a promise being left of entering into his rest, any one of you should seem to have come short of it.
Hebrews 4:2For indeed we have had glad tidings presented to us, even as they also; but the word of the report did not profit *them*, not being mixed with faith in those who heard.For unto us also it hath been declared, in like manner as unto them. But the word of hearing did not profit them, not being mixed with faith of those things they heard.For indeed we have had good tidings preached unto us, even as also they: but the word of hearing did not profit them, because it was not united by faith with them that heard.
Hebrews 4:3For we enter into the rest who have believed; as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, If they shall enter into my rest; although the works had been completed from [the] foundation of [the] world.For we, who have believed, shall enter into rest; as he said: As I have sworn in my wrath; If they shall enter into my rest; and this indeed when the works from the foundation of the world were finished.For we who have believed do enter into that rest; even as he hath said, As I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
Hebrews 4:4For he has said somewhere of the seventh [day] thus, And God rested on the seventh day from all his works:For in a certain place he spoke of the seventh day thus: And God rested the seventh day from all his works.For he hath said somewhere of the seventh [day] on this wise, And God rested on the seventh day from all his works;
Hebrews 4:5and in this again, If they shall enter into my rest.And in this place again: If they shall enter into my rest.and in this [place] again, They shall not enter into my rest.
Hebrews 4:6Seeing therefore it remains that some enter into it, and those who first received the glad tidings did not enter in on account of not hearkening to the word,Seeing then it remaineth that some are to enter into it, and they, to whom it was first preached, did not enter because of unbelief:Seeing therefore it remaineth that some should enter thereinto, and they to whom the good tidings were before preached failed to enter in because of disobedience,
Hebrews 4:7again he determines a certain day, saying, in David, 'To-day,' after so long a time; (according as it has been said before), To-day, if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.Again he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time, as it is above said: To day if you shall hear his voice, harden not your hearts.he again defineth a certain day, To-day, saying in David so long a time afterward (even as hath been said before), To-day if ye shall hear his voice, Harden not your hearts.
Hebrews 4:8For if Jesus had brought them into rest, he would not have spoken afterwards about another day.For if Jesus had given them rest, he would never have afterwards spoken of another day.For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken afterward of another day.
Hebrews 4:9There remains then a sabbatism to the people of God.There remaineth therefore a day of rest for the people of God.There remaineth therefore a sabbath rest for the people of God.
Hebrews 4:10For he that has entered into his rest, he also has rested from his works, as God did from his own.For he that is entered into his rest, the same also hath rested from his works, as God did from his.For he that is entered into his rest hath himself also rested from his works, as God did from his.
Hebrews 4:11Let us therefore use diligence to enter into that rest, that no one may fall after the same example of not hearkening to the word.Let us hasten therefore to enter into that rest; lest any man fall into the same example of unbelief.Let us therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, that no man fall after the same example of disobedience.
Hebrews 4:12For the word of God [is] living and operative, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and penetrating to [the] division of soul and spirit, both of joints and marrow, and a discerner of the thoughts and intents of [the] heart.For the word of God is living and effectual, and more piercing than any two edged sword; and reaching unto the division of the soul and the spirit, of the joints also and the marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and quick to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Hebrews 4:13And there is not a creature unapparent before him; but all things [are] naked and laid bare to his eyes, with whom we have to do.Neither is there any creature invisible in his sight: but all things are naked and open to his eyes, to whom our speech is.And there is no creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
Hebrews 4:14Having therefore a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast the confession.Having therefore a great high priest that hath passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God: let us hold fast our confession.Having then a great high priest, who hath passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
Hebrews 4:15For we have not a high priest not able to sympathise with our infirmities, but tempted in all things in like manner, sin apart.For we have not a high priest, who can not have compassion on our infirmities: but one tempted in all things like as we are, without sin.For we have not a high priest that cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but one that hath been in all points tempted like as [we are, yet] without sin.
Hebrews 4:16Let us approach therefore with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and find grace for seasonable help.Let us go therefore with confidence to the throne of grace: that we may obtain mercy, and find grace in seasonable aid.Let us therefore draw near with boldness unto the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace to help [us] in time of need.
