Luke 3:11 | And he answering says to them, He that has two body-coats, let him give to him that has none; and he that has food, let him do likewise. | And he answering, said to them: He that hath two coats, let him give to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do in like manner. | And he answered and said unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath food, let him do likewise. |
Luke 3:12 | And tax-gatherers came also to be baptised, and they said to him, Teacher, what should we do? | And the publicans also came to be baptized, and said to him: Master, what shall we do? | And there came also publicans to be baptized, and they said unto him, Teacher, what must we do? |
Luke 3:13 | And he said to them, Take no more [money] than what is appointed to you. | But he said to them: Do nothing more than that which is appointed you. | And he said unto them, Extort no more than that which is appointed you. |
Luke 3:14 | And persons engaged in military service also asked him saying, And we, what should we do? And he said to them, Oppress no one, nor accuse falsely, and be satisfied with your pay. | And the soldiers also asked him, saying: And what shall we do? And he said to them: Do violence to no man; neither calumniate any man; and be content with your pay. | And soldiers also asked him, saying, And we, what must we do? And he said unto them, Extort from no man by violence, neither accuse [any one] wrongfully; and be content with your wages. |
Luke 3:15 | But as the people were in expectation, and all were reasoning in their hearts concerning John whether *he* might be the Christ, | And as the people were of opinion, and all were thinking in their hearts of John, that perhaps he might be the Christ; | And as the people were in expectation, and all men reasoned in their hearts concerning John, whether haply he were the Christ; |
Luke 3:16 | John answered all, saying, *I* indeed baptise you with water, but the mightier than I is coming, the thong of whose sandals I am not fit to unloose; *he* shall baptise you with [the] Holy Spirit and fire; | John answered, saying unto all: I indeed baptize you with water; but there shall come one mightier that I, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to loose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: | John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but there cometh he that is mightier than I, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you in the Holy Spirit and [in] fire: |
