1st-Peter 4:1Christ, then, having suffered for us in [the] flesh, do *ye* also arm yourselves with the same mind; for he that has suffered in [the] flesh has done with sin,Christ therefore having suffered in the flesh, be you also armed with the same thought: for he that hath suffered in the flesh, hath ceased from sins:Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;
1st-Peter 4:2no longer to live the rest of [his] time in [the] flesh to men's lusts, but to God's will.That now he may live the rest of his time in the flesh , not after the desires of men, but according to the will of God.That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
1st-Peter 4:3For the time past [is] sufficient [for us] to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, walking in lasciviousness, lusts, wine-drinking, revels, drinkings, and unhallowed idolatries.For the time past is sufficient to have fulfilled the will of the Gentiles, for them who have walked in riotousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and unlawful worshipping of idols.For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revelings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:
1st-Peter 4:4Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with [them] to the same sink of corruption, speaking injuriously [of you];Wherein they think it strange, that you run not with them into the same confusion of riotousness, speaking evil of you.In which they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:
1st-Peter 4:5who shall render account to him who is ready to judge [the] living and [the] dead.Who shall render account to him, who is ready to judge the living and the dead.Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the living and the dead.
1st-Peter 4:6For to this [end] were the glad tidings preached to [the] dead also, that they might be judged, as regards men, after [the] flesh, but live, as regards God, after [the] Spirit.For, for this cause was the gospel preached also to the dead: that they might be judged indeed according to men, in the flesh; but may live according to God, in the Spirit.For, for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.
1st-Peter 4:7But the end of all things is drawn nigh: be sober therefore, and be watchful unto prayers;But the end of all is at hand. Be prudent therefore, and watch in prayers.But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch to prayer.
1st-Peter 4:8but before all things having fervent love among yourselves, because love covers a multitude of sins;But before all things have a constant mutual charity among yourselves: for charity covereth a multitude of sins.And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity will cover a multitude of sins.
1st-Peter 4:9hospitable one to another, without murmuring;Using hospitality one towards another, without murmuring,Use hospitality one to another without grudging.
1st-Peter 4:10each according as he has received a gift, ministering it to one another, as good stewards of [the] various grace of God.As every man hath received grace, ministering the same one to another: as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
1st-Peter 4:11If any one speak as oracles of God; if any one minister as of strength which God supplies; that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom is the glory and the might for the ages of ages. Amen.If any man speak, let him speak, as the words of God. If any man minister, let him do it, as of the power, which God administereth: that in all things God may be honoured through Jesus Christ: to whom is glory and empire for ever and ever. Amen.If any man speaketh let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man ministereth let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ; to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
1st-Peter 4:12Beloved, take not [as] strange the fire [of persecution] which has taken place amongst you for [your] trial, as if a strange thing was happening to you;Dearly beloved, think not strange the burning heat which is to try you, as if some new thing happened to you;Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you:
1st-Peter 4:13but as ye have share in the sufferings of Christ, rejoice, that in the revelation of his glory also ye may rejoice with exultation.But if you partake of the sufferings of Christ, rejoice that when his glory shall be revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.But rejoice, seeing ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
1st-Peter 4:14If ye are reproached in [the] name of Christ, blessed [are ye]; for the [Spirit] of glory and the Spirit of God rests upon you: [on their part he is blasphemed, but on your part he is glorified.]If you be reproached for the name of Christ, you shall be blessed: for that which is of the honour, glory, and power of God, and that which is his Spirit, resteth upon you.If ye are reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you. On their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
1st-Peter 4:15Let none of you suffer indeed as murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or as overseer of other people's matters;But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or a railer, or a coveter of other men's things.But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evil-doer, or as a busy-body in other men's matters.
1st-Peter 4:16but if as a christian, let him not be ashamed, but glorify God in this name.But if as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name.Yet if any man suffereth as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.
1st-Peter 4:17For the time of having the judgment begin from the house of God [is come]; but if first from us, what [shall be] the end of those who obey not the glad tidings of God?For the time is, that judgment should begin at the house of God. And if first at us, what shall be the end of them that believe not the gospel of God?For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first beginneth at us, what will be the end of them that obey not the gospel of God?
1st-Peter 4:18And if the righteous is difficultly saved, where shall the impious and [the] sinner appear?And if the just man shall scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?And if the righteous is scarcely saved, where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?
1st-Peter 4:19Wherefore also let them who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls in well-doing to a faithful Creator.Wherefore let them also that suffer according to the will of God, commend their souls in good deeds to the faithful Creator.Wherefore, let them that suffer according to the will of God, commit the keeping of their souls to him in well-doing, as to a faithful Creator.
