2nd-Kings 12:1In the seventh year of Jehu, Jehoash began to reign; and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Zibiah of Beer-sheba.In the seventh year of Jehu Joas began to reign: and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem. The name of his mother was Sebia of Bersabee. In the seventh year of Jehu, Jehoash began to reign; and forty years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Zibiah of Beer-sheba.
2nd-Kings 12:2And Jehoash did what was right in the sight of Jehovah, all the days wherein Jehoiada the priest instructed him.And Joas did that which was right before the Lord all the days that Joiada the priest taught him.And Jehoash did that which was right in the sight of the LORD all his days wherein Jehoiada the priest instructed him.
2nd-Kings 12:3Only, the high places were not removed: the people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places. But yet he took not away the high places: for the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places. But the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.
2nd-Kings 12:4And Jehoash said to the priests, All the money of the hallowed things that is brought into the house of Jehovah, the money of every one that passes [the account], the money at which every man is valued, [and] all the money that comes into any man's heart to bring into the house of Jehovah,And Joas said to the priests: O All the money of the sanctified things, which is brought into the temple of the Lord by those that pass, which is offered for the price of a soul, and which of their own accord, and of their own free heart they bring into the temple of the Lord:And Jehoash said to the priests, All the money of the dedicated things that is brought into the house of the LORD, even the money of every one that passeth the account, the money that every man is set at, and all the money that cometh into any man's heart to bring into the house of the LORD,
2nd-Kings 12:5let the priests take it, every man of his acquaintance; and let them repair the breaches of the house, wherever any breach is found.Let the priests take it according to their order, and repair the house, wheresoever they shall see any thing that wanteth repairing.Let the priests take it to them, every man of his acquaintance: and let them repair the breaches of the house, wherever any breach shall be found.
2nd-Kings 12:6And it was [so that] in the twenty-third year of king Jehoash, the priests had not repaired the breaches of the house. Now till the three and twentieth year of king Joas, the priests did not make the repairs of the temple. But it was so, that in the three and twentieth year of king Jehoash the priests had not repaired the breaches of the house.
2nd-Kings 12:7Then king Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and the priests, and said to them, Why have ye not repaired the breaches of the house? And now receive no money of your acquaintances, but give it for the breaches of the house. And king Joas called Joiada the high priest and the priests, saying to them: Why do you not repair the temple? Take you therefore money no more according to your order, but restore it for the repairing of the temple. Then king Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and the other priests, and said to them, Why repair ye not the breaches of the house? now therefore receive no more money of your acquaintance, but deliver it for the breaches of the house.
2nd-Kings 12:8And the priests consented to receive no money of the people, and that they should only repair the breaches of the house. And the priests were forbidden to take any more money of the people, and to make the repairs of the house. And the priests consented to receive no more money of the people, neither to repair the breaches of the house.
2nd-Kings 12:9And Jehoiada the priest took a chest, and bored a hole in the lid, and set it beside the altar, on the right side as one comes into the house of Jehovah; and the priests that kept the door put into it all the money brought into the house of Jehovah. And Joiada the high priest took a chest and bored a hole in the top, and set it by the altar at the right hand of them that came into the house of the Lord, and the priests that kept the doors put therein all the money that was brought to the temple of the Lord. But Jehoiada the priest took a chest, and bored a hole in the lid of it, and set it beside the altar, on the right side as one cometh into the house of the LORD: and the priests that kept the door put in it all the money that was brought into the house of the LORD.
2nd-Kings 12:10And it came to pass when they saw that there was much money in the chest, that the king's scribe and the high priest came up, and they tied up and counted the money that was found in the house of Jehovah. And when they saw that there was very much money in the chest, the king's scribe and the high priest came up, and poured it out, and counted the money that was found in the house of the Lord:And it was so, when they saw that there was much money in the chest, that the king's scribe and the high priest came up, and they put up in bags, and counted the money that was found in the house of the LORD.
2nd-Kings 12:11And they gave the money, weighed out into the hands of them that did the work, who were appointed over the house of Jehovah; and they laid it out to the carpenters and builders that wrought upon the house of Jehovah,And they gave it out by number and measure into the hands of them that were over the builders of the house of the Lord: and they laid it out to the carpenters, and the masons that wrought in the house of the Lord,And they gave the money, being counted, into the hands of them that did the work, that had the oversight of the house of the LORD: and they laid it out to the carpenters and builders, that wrought upon the house of the LORD,
2nd-Kings 12:12and to masons, and hewers of stone, and to buy timber and hewn stone to repair the breaches of the house of Jehovah, and for all that had to be laid out on the house for repairs. And made the repairs: and to them that cut stones, and to buy timber, and stones, to be hewed, that the repairs of the house of the Lord might be completely finished, and wheresoever there was need of expenses to uphold the houseAnd to masons, and hewers of stone, and to buy timber and hewed stone to repair the breaches of the house of the LORD, and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it.
2nd-Kings 12:13However there were not made for the house of Jehovah basons of silver, knives, bowls, trumpets, nor any utensil of gold or utensil of silver, of the money that was brought [into] the house of Jehovah; But there were not made of the same money for the temple of the Lord, bowls, or fleshhooks, or censers, or trumpets, or any vessel of gold and silver, of the money that was brought into the temple of the Lord.Yet, there were not made for the house of the LORD bowls of silver, snuffers, basons, trumpets, any vessels of gold, or vessels of silver, of the money that was brought into the house of the LORD:
2nd-Kings 12:14but they gave that to the workmen, and repaired the house of Jehovah with it.For it was given to them that did the work, that the temple of the Lord might be repaired. But they gave that to the workmen, and repaired with it the house of the LORD.
2nd-Kings 12:15And they did not reckon with the men into whose hand they gave the money to be bestowed on workmen; for they dealt faithfully. And they reckoned not with the men that received the money to distribute it to the workmen, but they bestowed it faithfully. Moreover, they reckoned not with the men, into whose hand they delivered the money to be bestowed on workmen: for they dealt faithfully.
2nd-Kings 12:16The money of trespass-offerings, and the money of sin-offerings, was not brought into the house of Jehovah: it was for the priests. But the money for trespass, and the money for sine, they brought not into the temple of the Lord, because it was for the priests. The trespass-money and sin-money was not brought into the house of the LORD: it was the priests'.
2nd-Kings 12:17Then Hazael king of Syria went up, and fought against Gath, and took it. And Hazael set his face to go up against Jerusalem. Then Hazael king of Syria went up and fought against Geth, and took it and set his face to go up to Jerusalem. Then Hazael king of Syria went up, and fought against Gath, and took it; and Hazael set his face to go up to Jerusalem.
2nd-Kings 12:18And Jehoash king of Judah took all the hallowed things that Jehoshaphat and Jehoram and Ahaziah, his fathers, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own hallowed things, and all the gold found in the treasures of the house of Jehovah and in the king's house, and sent it to Hazael king of Syria; and he went away from Jerusalem.Wherefore Joas king of Juda took all the sanctified things, which Josaphat, and Joram, and Ochozias his fathers the kings of Juda had dedicated to holy uses, and which he himself had offered: and all the silver that could be found in the treasures of the temple of the Lord, and in the king's palace: and sent it to Hazael king of Syria, and he went off from Jerusalem. And Jehoash king of Judah took all the hallowed things that Jehoshaphat, and Jehoram, and Ahaziah, his fathers, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own hallowed things, and all the gold that was found in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and in the king's house, and sent it to Hazael king of Syria: and he went away from Jerusalem.
2nd-Kings 12:19And the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And the rest of the acts of Joas, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Juda? And the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
2nd-Kings 12:20And his servants rose up and made a conspiracy, and smote Joash in the house of Millo, at the descent of Silla. And his servants arose, and conspired among themselves, and slew Joas in the house of Mello in the descent of Sella. And his servants arose, and made a conspiracy, and slew Joash in the house of Millo, which goeth down to Silla.
2nd-Kings 12:21And Jozachar the son of Shimeath and Jehozabad the son of Shomer, his servants, smote him and he died; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David. And Amaziah his son reigned in his stead. For Josachar the son of Semaath, and Jozabad the son of Somer his servant struck him, and he died: and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David, and Amasias his son reigned in his stead. For Jozachar the son of Shimeath, and Jehozabad the son of Shomer, his servants, smote him, and he died; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: And Amaziah his son reigned in his stead.
