Mark 2:1And he entered again into Capernaum after [several] days, and it was reported that he was at [the] house; And again he entered into Capharnaum after some days. And again he entered into Capernaum, after some days; and it was understood that he was in the house.
Mark 2:2and straightway many were gathered together, so that there was no longer any room, not even at the door; and he spoke the word to them. And it was heard that he was in the house, and many came together, so that there was no room; no, not even at the door; and he spoke to them the word. And forthwith many were assembled, so that there was no room to receive them, no not so much as about the door: and he preached the word to them.
Mark 2:3And there come to him [men] bringing a paralytic, borne by four; And they came to him, bringing one sick of the palsy, who was carried by four. And they come to him, bringing one sick with the palsy, who was borne by four.
Mark 2:4and, not being able to get near to him on account of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where he was, and having dug [it] up they let down the couch on which the paralytic lay.And when they could not offer him unto him for the multitude, they uncovered the roof where he was; and opening it, they let down the bed wherein the man sick of the palsy lay.And when they could not come nigh to him by reason of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed on which the sick with the palsy lay.
Mark 2:5But Jesus, seeing their faith, says to the paralytic, Child, thy sins are forgiven [thee].And when Jesus had seen their faith, he saith to the sick of the palsy: Son, thy sins are forgiven thee. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the sick with the palsy, Son, thy sins are forgiven thee.
Mark 2:6But certain of the scribes were there sitting, and reasoning in their hearts,And there were some of the scribes sitting there, and thinking in their hearts:But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,
Mark 2:7Why does this [man] thus speak? he blasphemes. Who is able to forgive sins except God alone? Why doth this man speak thus? he blasphemeth. Who can forgive sins, but God only? Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?
Mark 2:8And straightway Jesus, knowing in his spirit that they are reasoning thus within themselves, said to them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?Which Jesus presently knowing in his spirit, that they so thought within themselves, saith to them: Why think you these things in your hearts? And immediately, when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said to them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?
Mark 2:9Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, [Thy] sins are forgiven [thee]; or to say, Arise, and take up thy couch and walk?Which is easier, to say to the sick of the palsy: Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say: Arise, take up thy bed, and walk?Which is easier, to say to the sick with the palsy, Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?
Mark 2:10But that ye may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins, he says to the paralytic,But that you may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, he saith to the sick with the palsy,
Mark 2:11To thee I say, Arise, take up thy couch and go to thine house.I say to thee: Arise, take up thy bed, and go into thy house.I say to thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go into thy house.
Mark 2:12And he rose up straightway, and, having taken up his couch, went out before [them] all, so that all were amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it thus. And immediately he arose; and taking up his bed, went his way in the sight of all; so that all wondered and glorified God, saying: We never saw the like. And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; so that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.
Mark 2:13And he went out again by the sea, and all the crowd came to him, and he taught them. And he went forth again to the sea side; and all the multitude came to him, and he taught them. And he went forth again by the sea-side; and all the multitude resorted to him, and he taught them.
Mark 2:14And passing by, he saw Levi the [son] of Alphaeus sitting at the tax-office, and says to him, Follow me. And he rose up and followed him.And when he was passing by, he saw Levi the son of Alpheus sitting at the receipt of custom; and he saith to him: Follow me. And rising up, he followed him.And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alpheus, sitting at the receipt of custom, and said to him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.
Mark 2:15And it came to pass as he lay at table in his house, that many tax-gatherers and sinners lay at table with Jesus and his disciples; for they were many, and they followed him.And it came to pass, that as he sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat down together with Jesus and his disciples. For they were many, who also followed him.And it came to pass, that as Jesus sat at table in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples; for there were many, and they followed him.
Mark 2:16And the scribes and the Pharisees, seeing him eating with sinners and tax-gatherers, said to his disciples, Why [is it] that he eats and drinks with tax-gatherers and sinners? And the scribes and the Pharisees, seeing that he ate with publicans and sinners, said to his disiples: Why doth your master eat and drink with publicans and sinners? And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eating with publicans and sinners, they said to his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners.
Mark 2:17And Jesus having heard [it] says to them, They that are strong have not need of a physician, but those who are ill. I have not come to call righteous [men], but sinners.Jesus hearing this, saith to them: They that are well have no need of a physician, but they that are sick. For I came not to call the just, but sinners. When Jesus heard it, he saith to them, They that are in health, have no need of a physician, but they that are sick; I came not to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.
Mark 2:18And the disciples of John and the Pharisees were fasting; and they come and say to him, Why do the disciples of John and [the disciples] of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not?And the disiples of John and the Pharisees used to fast; and they come and say to him: Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast; but thy disciples do not fast? And the disciples of John, and of the Pharisees, used to fast: and they come, and say to him, Why do the disciples of John, and of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not?
Mark 2:19And Jesus said to them, Can the sons of the bride-chamber fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them they cannot fast. And Jesus saith to them: Can the children of the marriage fast, as long as the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast. And Jesus said to them, Can the children of the bride-chamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.
Mark 2:20But days will come when the bridegroom shall have been taken away from them, and then shall they fast in that day.But the days will come when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them; and then they shall fast in those days. But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then they will fast in those days.
Mark 2:21No one sews a patch of new cloth on an old garment: otherwise its new filling-up takes from the old [stuff], and there is a worse rent.No man seweth a piece of raw cloth to an old garment: otherwise the new piecing taketh away from the old, and there is made a greater rent.No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else the new piece that filled it up, taketh away from the old, and the rent is made worse.
Mark 2:22And no one puts new wine into old skins; otherwise the wine bursts the skins, and the wine is poured out, and the skins will be destroyed; but new wine is to be put into new skins. And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: otherwise the wine will burst the bottles, and both the wine will be spilled, and the bottles will be lost. But new wine must be put into new bottles. And no man putteth new wine into old bottles, else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles.
Mark 2:23And it came to pass that he went on the sabbath through the cornfields; and his disciples began to walk on, plucking the ears. And it came to pass again, as the Lord walked through the corn fields on the sabbath, that his disciples began to go forward, and to pluck the ears of corn. And it came to pass, that he went through the corn-fields on the sabbath; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn.
Mark 2:24And the Pharisees said to him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath what is not lawful? And the Pharisees said to him: Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful? And the Pharisees said to him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath that which is not lawful?
Mark 2:25And *he* said to them, Have ye never read what David did when he had need and hungered, *he* and those with him,And he said to them: Have you never read what David did when he had need, and was hungry himself, and they that were with him?And he said to them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was hungry, he and they that were with him?
Mark 2:26how he entered into the house of God, in [the section of] Abiathar [the] high priest, and ate the shew-bread, which it is not lawful unless for the priests to eat, and gave even to those that were with him?How he went into the house of God, under Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the loaves of proposition, which was not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave to them who were with him?How he went into the house of God, in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the show-bread, which it is not lawful to eat, but for the priests, and gave also to them who were with him?
Mark 2:27And he said to them, The sabbath was made on account of man, not man on account of the sabbath; And he said to them: The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath. And he said to them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
Mark 2:28so that the Son of man is lord of the sabbath also. Therefore the Son of man is Lord of the sabbath also. Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
