Matthew 15:1Then the scribes and Pharisees from Jerusalem come up to Jesus, saying,Then came to him from Jerusalem scribes and Pharisees, saying:Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, who were of Jerusalem, saying,
Matthew 15:2Why do thy disciples transgress what has been delivered by the ancients? for they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.Why do thy disciples trangress the tradition of the ancients? For they wash not their hands when they eat bread.Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
Matthew 15:3But he answering said to them, Why do *ye* also transgress the commandment of God on account of your traditional teaching?But he answering, said to them: Why do you also transgress the commandment of God for your tradition? For God said:But he answered and said to them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
Matthew 15:4For God commanded saying, Honour father and mother; and, He that speaks ill of father or mother, let him die the death.Honour thy father and mother: And: He that shall curse father or mother, let him die the death.For God commanded, saying, Honor thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
Matthew 15:5But *ye* say, Whosoever shall say to his father or mother, It is a gift, whatsoever [it be] by which [received] from me thou wouldest be profited:But you say: Whosoever shall say to father or mother, The gift whatsoever proceedeth from me, shall profit thee.But ye say, Whoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatever thou mightest be profited by me;
Matthew 15:6and he shall in no wise honour his father or his mother; and ye have made void the commandment of God on account of your traditional teaching.And he shall not honour his father or his mother: and you have made void the commandment of God for your tradition.And honor not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition.
Matthew 15:7Hypocrites! well has Esaias prophesied about you, saying,Hypocrites, well hath Isaias prophesied of you, saying:Ye hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,
Matthew 15:8This people honour me with the lips, but their heart is far away from me;This people honoureth me with their lips: but their heart is far from me.This people draw nigh to me with their mouth, and honor me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
Matthew 15:9but in vain do they worship me, teaching [as] teachings commandments of men.And in vain do they worship me, teaching doctrines and commandments of men.But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Matthew 15:10And having called to [him] the crowd, he said to them, Hear and understand:And having called together the multitudes unto him, he said to them: Hear ye and understand.And he called the multitude, and said to them, Hear, and understand:
Matthew 15:11Not what enters into the mouth defiles the man; but what goes forth out of the mouth, this defiles the man.Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man: but what cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
Matthew 15:12Then his disciples, coming up, said to him, Dost thou know that the Pharisees, having heard this word, have been offended?Then came his disciples, and said to him: Dost thou know that the Pharisees, when they heard this word, were scandalized?Then came his disciples, and said to him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended after they heard this saying?
Matthew 15:13But he answering said, Every plant which my heavenly Father has not planted shall be rooted up.But he answering them, said: Every plant which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be extirpated.
Matthew 15:14Leave them alone; they are blind leaders of blind: but if blind lead blind, both will fall into a ditch.Let them alone: they are blind, and leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into the pit.Let them alone: they are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leadeth the blind, both will fall into the ditch.
Matthew 15:15And Peter answering said to him, Expound to us this parable.And Peter answering, said to him: Expound to us this parable.Then answered Peter and said to him, Declare to us this parable.
Matthew 15:16But he said, Are *ye* also still without intelligence?But he said: Are you also yet without understanding?And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?
Matthew 15:17Do ye not yet apprehend, that everything that enters into the mouth finds its way into the belly, and is cast forth into the draught?Do you not understand, that whatsoever entereth into the mouth, goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the privy?Do ye not yet understand, that whatever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
Matthew 15:18but the things which go forth out of the mouth come out of the heart, and those defile man.But the things which proceed out of the mouth, come forth from the heart, and those things defile a man.But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
Matthew 15:19For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witnessings, blasphemies;For from the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false testimonies, blasphemies.For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
Matthew 15:20these are the things which defile man; but the eating with unwashen hands does not defile man.These are the things that defile a man. But to eat with unwashed hands doth not defile a man.These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.
Matthew 15:21And Jesus, going forth from thence, went away into the parts of Tyre and Sidon;And Jesus went from thence, and retired into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the territories of Tyre and Sidon.
Matthew 15:22and lo, a Canaanitish woman, coming out from those borders, cried [to him] saying, Have pity on me, Lord, Son of David; my daughter is miserably possessed by a demon.And behold a woman of Canaan who came out of those coasts, crying out, said to him: Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David: my daughter is grieviously troubled by the devil.And behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same territories, and cried to him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously afflicted with a demon.
Matthew 15:23But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came to [him] and asked him, saying, Dismiss her, for she cries after us.Who answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying: Send her away, for she crieth after us:But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
Matthew 15:24But he answering said, I have not been sent save to the lost sheep of Israel's house.And he answering, said: I was not sent but to the sheep that are lost of the house of Israel.But he answered and said, I am not sent but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Matthew 15:25But she came and did him homage, saying, Lord, help me.But she came and adored him, saying: Lord, help me.Then came she and worshiped him, saying, Lord, help me.
Matthew 15:26But he answering said, It is not well to take the bread of the children and cast it to the dogs.Who answering, said: It is not good to take the bread of the children, and to cast it to the dogs.But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.
Matthew 15:27But she said, Yea, Lord; for even the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from the table of their masters.But she said: Yea, Lord; for the whelps also eat of the crumbs that fall from the table of their masters.And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crums which fall from their master's table.
Matthew 15:28Then Jesus answering said to her, O woman, thy faith [is] great. Be it to thee as thou desirest. And her daughter was healed from *that* hour.Then Jesus answering, said to her: O woman, great is thy faith: be it done to thee as thou wilt: and her daughter was cured from that hour.Then Jesus answered and said to her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it to thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was healed from that very hour.
Matthew 15:29And Jesus, going away from thence, came towards the sea of Galilee, and he went up into the mountain and sat down there;And when Jesus had passed away from thence, he came nigh the sea of Galilee. And going up into a mountain, he sat there.And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh to the sea of Galilee; and ascended a mountain, and sat down there.
Matthew 15:30and great crowds came to him, having with them lame, blind, dumb, crippled, and many others, and they cast them at his feet, and he healed them:And there came to him great multitudes, having with them the dumb, the blind, the lame, the maimed, and many others: and they cast them down at his feet, and he healed them:And great multitudes came to him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet; and he healed them:
Matthew 15:31so that the crowds wondered, seeing dumb speaking, crippled sound, lame walking, and blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel.So that the multitudes marvelled seeing the dumb speak, the lame walk, and the blind see: and they glorified the God of Israel.So that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.
Matthew 15:32But Jesus, having called his disciples to [him], said, I have compassion on the crowd, because they have stayed with me already three days and they have not anything they can eat, and I would not send them away fasting lest they should faint on the way.And Jesus called together his disciples, and said: I have compassion on the multitudes, because they continue with me now three days, and have not what to eat, and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.Then Jesus called his disciples to him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.
Matthew 15:33And his disciples say to him, Whence should we have so many loaves in [the] wilderness as to satisfy so great a crowd?And the disciples say unto him: Whence then should we have so many loaves in the desert, as to fill so great a multitude?And his disciples say to him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to satisfy so great a multitude?
Matthew 15:34And Jesus says to them, How many loaves have ye? But they said, Seven, and a few small fishes.And Jesus said to them: How many loaves have you? But they said: Seven, and a few little fishes.And Jesus saith to them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes.
Matthew 15:35And he commanded the crowds to lie down on the ground;And he commanded the multitude to sit down upon the ground.And he commanded the multitude to sit on the ground.
Matthew 15:36and having taken the seven loaves and the fishes, having given thanks, he broke [them] and gave [them] to his disciples, and the disciples to the crowd.And taking the seven loaves and the fishes, and giving thanks, he brake, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the people.And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and broke them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
Matthew 15:37And all ate and were filled; and they took up what was over and above of the fragments seven baskets full;And they did all eat, and had their fill. And they took up seven baskets full, of what remained of the fragments.And they all ate and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that were left seven baskets full.
Matthew 15:38but they that ate were four thousand men, besides women and children.And they that did eat, were four thousand men, beside children and women.And they that had eaten were four thousand men, besides women and children.
Matthew 15:39And, having dismissed the crowds, he went on board ship and came to the borders of Magadan.And having dismissed the multitude, he went up into a boat, and came into the coasts of Magedan.And he sent away the multitude, and took a boat, and came into the borders of Magdala.
