Galatians 3:1O senseless Galatians, who has bewitched you; to whom, as before your very eyes, Jesus Christ has been portrayed, crucified [among you]?O senseless Galatians, who hath bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been set forth, crucified among you?Foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you not to obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was openly set forth among you as crucified?
Galatians 3:2This only I wish to learn of you, Have ye received the Spirit on the principle of works of law, or of [the] report of faith? This only would I learn of you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?I just want to learn this from you. Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?
Galatians 3:3Are ye so senseless? having begun in Spirit, are ye going to be made perfect in flesh? Are you so foolish, that, whereas you began in the Spirit, you would now be made perfect by the flesh? Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now completed in the flesh?
Galatians 3:4Have ye suffered so many things in vain, if indeed also in vain?Have you suffered so great things in vain? If it be yet in vain.Did you suffer so many things in vain, if it is indeed in vain?
Galatians 3:5He therefore who ministers to you the Spirit, and works miracles among you, [is it] on the principle of works of law, or of [the] report of faith? He therefore who giveth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you; doth he do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of the faith? He therefore that supplies the Spirit to you, and works miracles among you, does he do it by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?
Galatians 3:6Even as Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness. As it is written: Abraham believed God, and it was reputed to him unto justice.Even as Abraham "believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness."
Galatians 3:7Know then that they that are on the principle of faith, these are Abraham's sons;Know ye therefore, that they who are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.Know therefore that those who are of faith, the same are sons of Abraham.
Galatians 3:8and the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the nations on the principle of faith, announced beforehand the glad tidings to Abraham: In thee all the nations shall be blessed. And the scripture, foreseeing, that God justifieth the Gentiles by faith, told unto Abraham before: In thee shall all nations be blessed. The scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, "In you will all the nations be blessed."
Galatians 3:9So that they who are on the principle of faith are blessed with believing Abraham. Therefore they that are of faith, shall be blessed with faithful Abraham. So then, those who are of faith are blessed with the faithful Abraham.
Galatians 3:10For as many as are on the principle of works of law are under curse. For it is written, Cursed is every one who does not continue in all things which [are] written in the book of the law to do them; For as many as are of the works of the law, are under a curse. For it is written: Cursed is every one, that abideth not in all things, which are written in the book of the law to do them. For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse. For it is written, "Cursed is everyone who doesn't continue in all things that are written in the book of the law, to do them."
Galatians 3:11but that by law no one is justified with God [is] evident, because The just shall live on the principle of faith; But that in the law no man is justified with God, it is manifest: because the just man liveth by faith. Now that no man is justified by the law before God is evident, for, "The righteous will live by faith."
Galatians 3:12but the law is not on the principle of faith; but, He that shall have done these things shall live by them. But the law is not of faith: but, He that doth those things, shall live in them. The law is not of faith, but, "He that does them will live in them."
Galatians 3:13Christ has redeemed us out of the curse of the law, having become a curse for us, (for it is written, Cursed [is] every one hanged upon a tree,)Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written: Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,"
Galatians 3:14that the blessing of Abraham might come to the nations in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus: that we may receive the promise of the Spirit by faith.that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Galatians 3:15Brethren, (I speak according to man,) even man's confirmed covenant no one sets aside, or adds other dispositions to.Brethren (I speak after the manner of man,) yet a man's testament, if it be confirmed, no man despiseth, nor addeth to it.Brothers, I speak like men. Though it is only a man's covenant, yet when it has been confirmed, no one makes it void, or adds to it.
Galatians 3:16But to Abraham were the promises addressed, and to his seed: he does not say, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed; which is Christ. To Abraham were the promises made and to his seed. He saith not, And to his seeds, as of many: but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He doesn't say, "To seeds," as of many, but as of one, "To your seed," which is Christ.
Galatians 3:17Now I say this, A covenant confirmed beforehand by God, the law, which took place four hundred and thirty years after, does not annul, so as to make the promise of no effect. Now this I say, that the testament which was confirmed by God, the law which was made after four hundred and thirty years, doth not disannul, to make the promise of no effect. Now I say this. A covenant confirmed beforehand by God in Christ, the law, which came four hundred and thirty years after, does not annul, so as to make the promise of no effect.
Galatians 3:18For if the inheritance [be] on the principle of law, [it is] no longer on the principle of promise; but God gave it in grace to Abraham by promise. For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise. But God gave it to Abraham by promise. For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no more of promise; but God has granted it to Abraham by promise.
Galatians 3:19Why then the law? It was added for the sake of transgressions, until the seed came to whom the promise was made, ordained through angels in [the] hand of a mediator. Why then was the law? It was set because of transgressions, until the seed should come, to whom he made the promise, being ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. What then is the law? It was added because of transgressions, until the seed should come to whom the promise has been made. It was ordained through angels by the hand of a mediator.
Galatians 3:20But a mediator is not of one, but God is one.Now a mediator is not of one: but God is one.Now a mediator is not between one, but God is one.
Galatians 3:21[Is] then the law against the promises of God? Far be the thought. For if a law had been given able to quicken, then indeed righteousness were on the principle of law;Was the law then against the promises of God? God forbid. For if there had been a law given which could give life, verily justice should have been by the law.Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could make alive, most assuredly righteousness would have been of the law.
Galatians 3:22but the scripture has shut up all things under sin, that the promise, on the principle of faith of Jesus Christ, should be given to those that believe. But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise, by the faith of Jesus Christ, might be given to them that believe. But the scriptures shut up all things under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
Galatians 3:23But before faith came, we were guarded under law, shut up to faith [which was] about to be revealed. But before the faith came, we were kept under the law shut up, unto that faith which was to be revealed. But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, shut up to the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
Galatians 3:24So that the law has been our tutor up to Christ, that we might be justified on the principle of faith.Wherefore the law was our pedagogue in Christ, that we might be justified by faith. So that the law has become our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
Galatians 3:25But, faith having come, we are no longer under a tutor; But after the faith is come, we are no longer under a pedagogue. But now that faith is come, we are no longer under a tutor.
Galatians 3:26for ye are all God's sons by faith in Christ Jesus. For you are all the children of God by faith, in Christ Jesus. For you are all sons of God, through faith in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:27For ye, as many as have been baptised unto Christ, have put on Christ. For as many of you as have been baptized in Christ, have put on Christ. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Galatians 3:28There is no Jew nor Greek; there is no bondman nor freeman; there is no male and female; for ye are all one in Christ Jesus:There is neither Jew nor Greek: there is neither bond nor free: there is neither male nor female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:29but if *ye* [are] of Christ, then ye are Abraham's seed, heirs according to promise. And if you be Christ's, then are you the seed of Abraham, heirs according to the promise. If you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, heirs according to promise.
