| Hebrews 5:1 | For every high priest taken from amongst men is established for men in things relating to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins; | For every high priest taken from among men, is ordained for men in the things that appertain to God, that he may offer up gifts and sacrifices for sins: | For every high priest, being taken from among men, is appointed for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins. |
| Hebrews 5:2 | being able to exercise forbearance towards the ignorant and erring, since he himself also is clothed with infirmity; | Who can have compassion on them that are ignorant and that err: because he himself also is compassed with infirmity. | The high priest can deal gently with those who are ignorant and going astray, because he himself is also surrounded with weakness. |
