Leviticus 21:1And Jehovah said to Moses, Speak unto the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say unto them, There shall none make himself unclean for a dead person among his peoples,The Lord said also to Moses: Speak to the priests the sons of Aaron, and thou shalt say to them: Let not a priest incur an uncleanness at the death of his citizens:Yahweh said to Moses, Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say to them, There shall none defile himself for the dead among his people;
Leviticus 21:2except for his immediate relation, who is near unto him for his mother, and for his father, and for his son, and for his daughter, and for his brother;But only for his kin, such as are near in blood, that is to say, for his father and for his mother, and for his son, and for his daughter, for his brother also,except for his relatives, that is near to him, for his mother, and for his father, and for his son, and for his daughter, and for his brother,
Leviticus 21:3and for his sister, a virgin, that is near unto him, who hath had no husband, for her may he make himself unclean.And for a maiden sister, who hath had no husband:and for his sister a virgin, that is near to him, that has had no husband; for her may he defile himself.
Leviticus 21:4He shall not make himself unclean [who is] a chief among his peoples, to profane himself.But not even for the prince of his people shall he do any thing that may make him unclean.He shall not defile himself, [being] a chief man among his people, to profane himself.
Leviticus 21:5They shall not make any baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off the corners of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.Neither shall they shave their head, nor their beard, nor make incisions in their flesh.They shall not make baldness on their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.
Leviticus 21:6They shall be holy unto their God, and not profane the name of their God; for they present Jehovah's offerings by fire, the bread of their God; therefore shall they be holy.They shall be holy to their God, and shall not profane his name: for they offer the burnt offering of the Lord, and the bread of their God, and therefore they shall be holy.They shall be holy to their God, and not profane the name of their God; for the offerings of Yahweh made by fire, the bread of their God, they do offer: therefore they shall be holy.
Leviticus 21:7They shall not take as wife a whore, or a dishonoured woman; neither shall they take a woman put away from her husband; for he is holy unto his God.They shall not take to wife a harlot or a vile prostitute, nor one that has been put away from her husband: because they are consecrated to their God,They shall not take a woman that is a prostitute, or profane; neither shall they take a woman put away from her husband: for he is holy to his God.
Leviticus 21:8And thou shalt hallow him; for the bread of thy God doth he present: he shall be holy unto thee; for I, Jehovah, who hallow you am holy.And offer the leaves of proposition. Let them therefore be holy, because I also am holy, the Lord, who sanctify them.You shall sanctify him therefore; for he offers the bread of your God: he shall be holy to you: for I Yahweh, who sanctify you, am holy.
Leviticus 21:9And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burned with fire.If the daughter of a priest be taken in whoredom, and dishonour the name of her father, she shall be burnt with fire.The daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the prostitute, she profanes her father: she shall be burnt with fire.
Leviticus 21:10And the high priest among his brethren, on whose head the anointing oil was poured, and who is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not uncover his head, nor rend his garments.The high priest, that is to say, the priest, is the greatest among his brethren. upon whose head the oil of unction hath been poured, and whose hands have been consecrated for the priesthood, and who hath been vested with the holy vestments, shall not uncover his head, he shall not rend his garments:He who is the high priest among his brothers, on whose head the anointing oil is poured, and that is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not let the hair of his head go loose, nor tear his clothes;
Leviticus 21:11Neither shall he come near any person dead, nor make himself unclean for his father and for his mother;Nor shall he go in at all to any dead person: not even for his father, or his mother, shall he be defiled:neither shall he go in to any dead body, nor defile himself for his father, or for his mother;
Leviticus 21:12neither shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the consecration of the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am Jehovah.Neither shall he go out of the holy places, lest he defile the sanctuary of the Lord, because the oil of the holy unction of his God is upon him. I am the Lord.neither shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the crown of the anointing oil of his God is on him: I am Yahweh.
Leviticus 21:13And he shall take a wife in her virginity.He shall take a virgin unto his wife:He shall take a wife in her virginity.
Leviticus 21:14A widow, or a divorced woman, or a dishonoured one, a harlot, these shall he not take; but he shall take as wife a virgin from among his peoples.But a widow or one that is divorced, or defiled, or a harlot, he shall not take, but a maid of his own people :A widow, or one divorced, or a profane woman, a prostitute, these shall he not take: but a virgin of his own people shall he take as a wife.
Leviticus 21:15And he shall not profane his seed among his peoples; for I am Jehovah who do hallow him.He shall not mingle the stock of his kindred with the common people of his nation: for I am the Lord who sanctify him.He shall not profane his seed among his people: for I am Yahweh who sanctifies him.
Leviticus 21:16And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
Leviticus 21:17Speak unto Aaron, saying, Any of thy seed throughout their generations that hath any defect, shall not approach to present the bread of his God;Say to Aaron: Whosoever of thy seed throughout their families, hath a blemish, he shall not offer bread to his God.Speak to Aaron, saying, Whoever he be of your seed throughout their generations that has a blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his God.
Leviticus 21:18for whatever man hath a defect, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or one limb longer than the other,Neither shall he approach to minister to him: If he be blind, if he be lame, if he have a little, or a great, or a crooked nose,For whatever man he be that has a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that has a flat nose, or any deformity,
Leviticus 21:19or a man that is broken-footed, or broken-handed,If his foot, or if his hand be broken,or a man that is broken-footed, or broken-handed,
Leviticus 21:20or hump-backed, or withered, or that hath a spot in his eye, or hath the itch, or scabs, or his testicles broken.If he be crookbacked, or blear eyed, or have a pearl in his eye, or a continual scab, or a dry scurf in his body, or a rupture:or crook-backed, or a dwarf, or that has a blemish in his eye, or is scurvy, or scabbed, or has his stones broken;
Leviticus 21:21No man of the seed of Aaron the priest that hath defect shall come near to present Jehovah's offerings by fire: he hath a defect; he shall not come near to present the bread of his God.Whosoever of the seed of Aaron the priest hath a blemish, he shall not approach to offer sacrifices to the Lord, nor bread to his God.no man of the seed of Aaron the priest, that has a blemish, shall come near to offer the offerings of Yahweh made by fire: he has a blemish; he shall not come near to offer the bread of his God.
Leviticus 21:22The bread of his God, of the most holy and of the holy, shall he eat;He shall eat nevertheless of the loaves, that are offered in the sanctuary,He shall eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy, and of the holy:
Leviticus 21:23only he shall not come in unto the veil, nor shall he draw near unto the altar; for he hath a defect: that he profane not my sanctuaries; for I am Jehovah who do hallow them.Yet so that he enter not within the veil, nor approach to the altar, because he hath a blemish, and he must not defile my sanctuary. I am the Lord who sanctify them.only he shall not go in to the veil, nor come near to the altar, because he has a blemish; that he not profane my sanctuaries: for I am Yahweh who sanctifies them.
Leviticus 21:24And Moses told it to Aaron, and to his sons, and to all the children of Israel.Moses therefore spoke to Aaron, and to his sons and to all Israel, all the things that had been commanded him.So Moses spoke to Aaron, and to his sons, and to all the children of Israel.
