Mark 7:1And the Pharisees and some of the scribes, coming from Jerusalem, are gathered together to him,And there assembled together unto him the Pharisees and some of the scribes, coming from Jerusalem.And gathered together unto him are the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, having come from Jerusalem,
Mark 7:2and seeing some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is, unwashed, hands,And when they had seen some of his disciples eat bread with common, that is, with unwashed hands, they found fault.and having seen certain of his disciples with defiled hands that is, unwashed eating bread, they found fault;
Mark 7:3(for the Pharisees and all the Jews, unless they wash their hands diligently, do not eat, holding what has been delivered by the ancients;For the Pharisees, and all the Jews eat not without often washing their hands, holding the tradition of the ancients:for the Pharisees, and all the Jews, if they do not wash the hands to the wrist, do not eat, holding the tradition of the elders,
Mark 7:4and [on coming] from the market-place, unless they are washed, they do not eat; and there are many other things which they have received to hold, the washing of cups and vessels, and brazen utensils, and couches),And when they come from the market, unless they be washed, they eat not: and many other things there are that have been delivered to them to observe, the washings of cups and of pots, and of brazen vessels, and of beds.and, [coming] from the market-place, if they do not baptize themselves, they do not eat; and many other things there are that they received to hold, baptisms of cups, and pots, and brazen vessels, and couches.
Mark 7:5then the Pharisees and the scribes ask him, Why do thy disciples not walk according to what has been delivered by the ancients, but eat the bread with defiled hands?And the Pharisees and scribes asked him: Why do not thy disciples walk according to the tradition of the ancients, but they eat bread with common hands?Then question him do the Pharisees and the scribes, `Wherefore do thy disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but with unwashed hands do eat the bread?`
Mark 7:6But he answering said to them, Well did Esaias prophesy concerning you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honour me with their lips, but their heart is far away from me.But he answering, said to them: Well did Isaias prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.and he answering said to them `Well did Isaiah prophesy concerning you, hypocrites, as it hath been written, This people with the lips doth honor Me, and their heart is far from Me;
Mark 7:7But in vain do they worship me, teaching [as their] teachings commandments of men.And in vain to they worship me, teaching doctrines and precepts of men.and in vain do they worship Me, teaching teachings, commands of men;
Mark 7:8[For], leaving the commandment of God, ye hold what is delivered by men [to keep] washings of vessels and cups, and many other such like things ye do.For leaving the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men, the washing of pots and of cups: and many other things you do like to these.for, having put away the command of God, ye hold the tradition of men, baptisms of pots and cups; and many other such like things ye do.`
Mark 7:9And he said to them, Well do ye set aside the commandment of God, that ye may observe what is delivered by yourselves [to keep].And he said to them: Well do you make void the commandment of God, that you may keep your own tradition.And he said to them, `Well do ye put away the command of God that your tradition ye may keep;
Mark 7:10For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, he who speaks ill of father or mother, let him surely die.For Moses said: Honor thy father and thy mother; and He that shall curse father or mother, dying let him die.for Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, He who is speaking evil of father or mother let him die the death;
Mark 7:11But *ye* say, If a man say to his father or his mother, [It is] corban (that is, gift), whatsoever thou mightest have profit from me by ...But you say: If a man shall say to his father or mother, Corban, (which is a gift,) whatsoever is from me, shall profit thee.and ye say, If a man may say to father or to mother, Korban (that is, a gift), [is] whatever thou mayest be profited out of mine,
Mark 7:12And ye no longer suffer him to do anything for his father or his mother;And further you suffer him not to do any thing for his father or mother,and no more do ye suffer him to do anything for his father or for his mother,
Mark 7:13making void the word of God by your traditional teaching which ye have delivered; and many such like things ye do.Making void the word of God by your own tradition, which you have given forth. And many other such like things you do.setting aside the word of God for your tradition that ye delivered; and many such like things ye do.`
Mark 7:14And having called again the crowd, he said to them, Hear me, all [of you], and understand:And calling again the multitude unto him, he said to them: Hear ye me all, and understand.And having called near all the multitude, he said to them, `Hearken to me, ye all, and understand;
Mark 7:15There is nothing from outside a man entering into him which can defile him; but the things which go out from him, those it is which defile the man.There is nothing from without a man that entering into him, can defile him. But the things which come from a man, those are they that defile a man.there is nothing from without the man entering into him that is able to defile him, but the things coming out from him, those are the things defiling the man.
Mark 7:16If any one have ears to hear, let him hear.If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.If any hath ears to hear let him hear.`
Mark 7:17And when he went indoors from the crowd, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.And when he was come into the house from the multitude, his disciples asked him the parable.And when he entered into a house from the multitude, his disciples were questioning him about the simile,
Mark 7:18And he says to them, Are *ye* also thus unintelligent? Do ye not perceive that all that is outside entering into the man cannot defile him,And he saith to them: So are you also without knowledge? understand you not that every thing from without, entering into a man cannot defile him:and he saith to them, `So also ye are without understanding! Do ye not perceive that nothing from without entering into the man is able to defile him?
Mark 7:19because it does not enter into his heart but into his belly, and goes out into the draught, purging all meats?Because it entereth not into his heart, but goeth into the belly, and goeth out into the privy, purging all meats?because it doth not enter into his heart, but into the belly, and into the drain it doth go out, purifying all the meats.`
Mark 7:20And he said, That which goes forth out of the man, that defiles the man.But he said that the things which come out from a man, they defile a man.And he said `That which is coming out from the man, that doth defile the man;
Mark 7:21For from within, out of the heart of men, go forth evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,For from within out of the heart of men proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,for from within, out of the heart of men, the evil reasonings do come forth, adulteries, whoredoms, murders,
Mark 7:22thefts, covetousness, wickednesses, deceit, licentiousness, a wicked eye, injurious language, haughtiness, folly;Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness.thefts, covetous desires, wickedness, deceit, arrogance, an evil eye, evil speaking, pride, foolishness;
Mark 7:23all these wicked things go forth from within and defile the man.All these evil things come from within, and defile a man.all these evils do come forth from within, and they defile the man.`
Mark 7:24And he rose up and went away thence into the borders of Tyre and Sidon; and having entered into a house he would not have any one know [it], and he could not be hid.And rising from thence he went into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon: and entering into a house, he would that no man should know it, and he could not be hid.And from thence having risen, he went away to the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and having entered into the house, he wished none to know, and he was not able to be hid,
Mark 7:25But immediately a woman, whose little daughter had an unclean spirit, having heard of him, came and fell at his feetFor a woman as soon as she heard of him, whose daughter had an unclean spirit, came in and fell down at his feet.for a woman having heard about him, whose little daughter had an unclean spirit, having come, fell at his feet,
Mark 7:26(and the woman was a Greek, Syrophenician by race), and asked him that he would cast the demon out of her daughter.For the woman was a Gentile, a Syrophenician born. And she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.and the woman was a Greek, a Syro-Phenician by nation and was asking him, that the demon he may cast forth out of her daughter.
Mark 7:27But [Jesus] said to her, Suffer the children to be first filled; for it is not right to take the children's bread and cast it to the dogs.Who said to her: Suffer first the children to be filled: for it is not good to take the bread of the children, and cast it to the dogs.And Jesus said to her, `Suffer first the children to be filled, for it is not good to take the children`s bread, and to cast [it] to the little dogs.`
Mark 7:28But she answered and says to him, Yea, Lord; for even the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs.But she answered and said to him: Yea, Lord; for the whelps also eat under the table of the crumbs of the children.And she answered and saith to him, `Yes, sir; for the little dogs also under the table do eat of the children`s crumbs.`
Mark 7:29And he said to her, Because of this word, go thy way, the demon is gone out of thy daughter.And he said to her: For this saying go thy way, the devil is gone out of thy daughter.And he said to her, `Because of this word go; the demon hath gone forth out of thy daughter;`
Mark 7:30And having gone away to her house she found the demon gone out, and her daughter lying on the bed.And when she was come into her house, she found the girl lying upon the bed, and that the devil was gone out.and having come away to her house, she found the demon gone forth, and the daughter laid upon the couch.
Mark 7:31And again having left the borders of Tyre and Sidon, he came to the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.And again going out of the coasts of Tyre, he came by Sidon to the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.And again, having gone forth from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis,
Mark 7:32And they bring to him a deaf [man] who could not speak right, and they beseech him that he might lay his hand on him.And they bring to him one deaf and dumb; and they besought him that he would lay his hand upon him.and they bring to him a deaf, stuttering man, and they call on him that he may put the hand on him.
Mark 7:33And having taken him away from the crowd apart, he put his fingers to his ears; and having spit, he touched his tongue;And taking him from the multitude apart, he put his fingers into his ears, and spitting, he touched his tongue:And having taken him away from the multitude by himself, he put his fingers to his ears, and having spit, he touched his tongue,
Mark 7:34and looking up to heaven he groaned, and says to him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.And looking up to heaven, he groaned, and said to him: Ephpheta, which is, Be thou opened.and having looked to the heaven, he sighed, and saith to him, `Ephphatha,` that is, `Be thou opened;`
Mark 7:35And immediately his ears were opened, and the band of his tongue was loosed and he spoke right.And immediately his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke right.and immediately were his ears opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he was speaking plain.
Mark 7:36And he charged them that they should speak to no one [of it]. But so much the more *he* charged them, so much the more abundantly *they* proclaimed it;And he charged them that they should tell no man. But the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal did they publish it.And he charged them that they may tell no one, but the more he was charging them, the more abundantly they were proclaiming [it],
Mark 7:37and they were astonished above measure, saying, He does all things well; he makes both the deaf to hear, and the speechless to speak.And so much the more did they wonder, saying: He hath done all things well; he hath made both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.and they were being beyond measure astonished, saying, `Well hath he done all things; both the deaf he doth make to hear, and the dumb to speak.`
