| Exodus 40:1 | And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, | And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, | And the Lord said to Moses, |
| Exodus 40:2 | On the day of the first month, on the first of the month, shalt thou set up the tabernacle of the tent of meeting. | On the first day of the first month shalt thou set up the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation. | On the first day of the first month you are to put up the House of the Tent of meeting. |
| Exodus 40:3 | And thou shalt put in it the ark of the testimony, and shalt cover the ark with the veil. | And thou shalt put therein the ark of the testimony, and cover the ark with the vail. | And inside it put the ark of the law, hanging the veil before it. |
| Exodus 40:4 | And thou shalt bring in the table, and set in order the things that are to be set in order upon it. And thou shalt bring in the candlestick and light its lamps. | And thou shalt bring in the table, and set in order the things that are to be set in order upon it; and thou shalt bring in the candlestick, and light the lamps thereof. | And put the table inside, placing all the things on it in order; and put in the support for the lights, and let its lights be burning. |

| Exodus 40:15 | And thou shalt anoint them, as thou didst anoint their father, that they may serve me as priests. And their anointing shall be to them an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations. | And thou shalt anoint them, as thou didst anoint their father, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office: for their anointing shall surely be an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations. | And put oil on them as you did on their father, so that they may be my priests: the putting on of oil will make them priests for ever, from generation to generation. |

| Exodus 40:29 | And he put the altar of burnt-offering at the entrance to the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, and offered on it the burnt-offering and the oblation; as Jehovah had commanded Moses. | And he put the altar of burnt offering by the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation, and offered upon it the burnt offering and the meat offering; as the LORD commanded Moses. | And at the door of the House of the Tent of meeting, he put the altar of burned offerings, offering on it the burned offering and the meal offering, as the Lord had given him orders. |

And so Moses finished the work. | And he reared up the court round about the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the hanging of the court gate. So Moses finished the work. | And he put up the hangings forming the open space round the House and the altar, and put the curtain over the doorway. So Moses made the work complete. |

| Exodus 40:38 | For the cloud of Jehovah was on the tabernacle by day, and fire was in it by night, before the eyes of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys. | For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys. | For the cloud of the Lord was resting on the House by day, and at night there was fire in the cloud, before the eyes of all the people of Israel, and so it was through all their journeys. |
