Matthew 24:1And Jesus went forth and went away from the temple, and his disciples came to [him] to point out to him the buildings of the temple.And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus went out of the Temple, and on the way his disciples came to him, pointing out the buildings of the Temple.
Matthew 24:2And he answering said to them, Do ye not see all these things? Verily I say to you, Not a stone shall be left here upon a stone which shall not be thrown down.And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. But he, answering, said to them, See you not all these things? truly I say to you that here there will not be one stone resting on another, which will not be pulled down.
Matthew 24:3And as he was sitting upon the mount of Olives the disciples came to him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be, and what is the sign of thy coming and [the] completion of the age?And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And while he was seated on the Mountain of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, Make clear to us, when will these things be? and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the world?
Matthew 24:4And Jesus answering said to them, See that no one mislead you.And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. And Jesus said to them in answer, Take care that you are not tricked.
Matthew 24:5For many shall come in my name, saying, *I* am the Christ, and they shall mislead many.For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. For people will come in my name, saying, I am the Christ; and a number will be turned from the true way through them.
Matthew 24:6But ye will hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that ye be not disturbed; for all [these things] must take place, but it is not yet the end.And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. And news will come to you of wars and talk of wars: do not be troubled, for these things have to be; but it is still not the end.
Matthew 24:7For nation shall rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines and pestilences, and earthquakes in divers places.For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. For nation will be moved against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and men will be without food, and the earth will be shaking in different places;
Matthew 24:8But all these [are the] beginning of throes.All these are the beginning of sorrows. But all these things are the first of the troubles.
Matthew 24:9Then shall they deliver you up to tribulation, and shall kill you; and ye will be hated of all the nations for my name's sake.Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. Then they will be cruel to you, and will put you to death: and you will be hated by all nations because of my name.
Matthew 24:10And then will many be offended, and will deliver one another up, and hate one another;And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And numbers of people will be turned from the right way, and will give one another up and have hate for one another.
Matthew 24:11and many false prophets shall arise and shall mislead many;And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And a number of false prophets will come, causing error.
Matthew 24:12and because lawlessness shall prevail, the love of the most shall grow cold;And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. And because wrongdoing will be increased, the love of most people will become cold.
Matthew 24:13but he that has endured to the end, *he* shall be saved.But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. But he who goes through to the end will get salvation.
Matthew 24:14And these glad tidings of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole habitable earth, for a witness to all the nations, and then shall come the end.And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. And this good news of the kingdom will be given through all the world for a witness to all nations; and then the end will come.
Matthew 24:15When therefore ye shall see the abomination of desolation, which is spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in [what is a] holy place, (he that reads let him understand,)When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) When, then, you see in the holy place the unclean thing which makes destruction, of which word was given by Daniel the prophet (let this be clear to the reader),
Matthew 24:16then let those who are in Judaea flee to the mountains;Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Then let those who are in Judaea go in flight to the mountains:
Matthew 24:17let not him that is on the house come down to take the things out of his house;Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Let not him who is on the house-top go down to take anything out of his house:
Matthew 24:18and let not him that is in the field turn back to take his garment.Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And let not him who is in the field go back to get his coat.
Matthew 24:19But woe to those that are with child, and those that give suck in those days.And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But it will be hard for women who are with child and for those with babies at the breast in those days.
Matthew 24:20But pray that your flight may not be in winter time nor on sabbath:But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: And say a prayer that your flight may not be in the winter, or on a Sabbath.
Matthew 24:21for then shall there be great tribulation, such as has not been from [the] beginning of [the] world until now, nor ever shall be;For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. Because in those days there will be great sorrow, such as there has not been from the start of the world till now, or ever will be.
Matthew 24:22and if those days had not been cut short, no flesh had been saved; but on account of the elect those days shall be cut short.And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. And if those days had not been made short there would have been no salvation for any, but because of the saints those days will be made short.
Matthew 24:23Then if any one say to you, Behold, here is the Christ, or here, believe [it] not.Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. Then if any man says to you, See, here is the Christ, or, Here; do not put faith in him;
Matthew 24:24For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall give great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. For there will come up false Christs, and false prophets, who will do great signs and wonders; so that if possible even the saints might be tricked.
Matthew 24:25Behold, I have told you beforehand.Behold, I have told you before. See, I have made it clear to you before it comes about.
Matthew 24:26If therefore they say to you, Behold, he is in the desert, go not forth; behold, [he is] in the inner chambers, do not believe [it].Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. If, then, they say to you, See, he is in the waste land; go not out: See, he is in the inner rooms; put no faith in it.
Matthew 24:27For as the lightning goes forth from the east and shines to the west, so shall be the coming of the Son of man.For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Because as in a thunderstorm the bright light coming from the east is seen even in the west; so will be the coming of the Son of man.
Matthew 24:28[For] wherever the carcase is, there will be gathered the eagles.For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. Wherever the dead body is, there will the eagles come together.
Matthew 24:29But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun shall be darkened, and the moon not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: But straight away, after the trouble of those days, the sun will be made dark and the moon will not give her light and the stars will come down from heaven and the powers of heaven will be moved:
Matthew 24:30And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven; and then shall all the tribes of the land lament, and they shall see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And then the sign of the Son of man will be seen in heaven: and then all the nations of the earth will have sorrow, and they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Matthew 24:31And he shall send his angels with a great sound of trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from [the one] extremity of [the] heavens to [the other] extremity of them.And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. And he will send out his angels with a great sound of a horn, and they will get his saints together from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Matthew 24:32But learn the parable from the fig-tree: When already its branch becomes tender and produces leaves, ye know that the summer is near.Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: Now take an example from the fig-tree: when her branch has become soft and puts out its leaves, you are certain that the summer is near;
Matthew 24:33Thus also *ye*, when ye see all these things, know that it is near, at the doors.So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Even so, when you see all these things, you may be certain that he is near, even at the doors.
Matthew 24:34Verily I say to you, This generation will not have passed away until all these things shall have taken place.Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Truly I say to you, This generation will not come to an end till all these things are complete.
Matthew 24:35The heaven and the earth shall pass away, but my words shall in no wise pass away.Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. Heaven and earth will come to an end, but my words will not come to an end.
Matthew 24:36But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of the heavens, but [my] Father alone.But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But of that day and hour no one has knowledge, not even the angels in heaven, or the Son, but the Father only.
Matthew 24:37But as the days of Noe, so also shall be the coming of the Son of man.But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. And as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of man.
Matthew 24:38For as they were in the days which were before the flood, eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day on which Noe entered into the ark,For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, Because as in those days before the overflowing of the waters, they were feasting and taking wives and getting married, till the day when Noah went into the ark,
Matthew 24:39and they knew not till the flood came and took all away; thus also shall be the coming of the Son of man.And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. And they had no care till the waters came and took them all away; so will be the coming of the Son of man.
Matthew 24:40Then two shall be in the field, one is taken and one is left;Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Then two men will be in the field; one is taken, and one let go;
Matthew 24:41two [women] grinding at the mill, one is taken and one is left.Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women will be crushing grain; one is taken, and one let go.
Matthew 24:42Watch therefore, for ye know not in what hour your Lord comes.Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. Be watching, then! for you have no knowledge on what day your Lord will come.
Matthew 24:43But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch the thief was coming, he would have watched and not have suffered his house to be dug through [into].But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. But be certain of this, that if the master of the house had had knowledge of the time when the thief was coming, he would have been watching, and would not have let his house be broken into.
Matthew 24:44Wherefore *ye* also, be ye ready, for in that hour that ye think not the Son of man comes.Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Be ready then; for at a time which you have no thought of the Son of man will come.
Matthew 24:45Who then is the faithful and prudent bondman whom his lord has set over his household, to give them food in season?Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Who is the true and wise servant, whom his lord has put over those in his house, to give them their food at the right time?
Matthew 24:46Blessed is that bondman whom his lord on coming shall find doing thus.Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. A blessing on that servant, who will be doing so when his lord comes.
Matthew 24:47Verily I say unto you, that he will set him over all his substance.Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. Truly, I say to you, he will put him over all he has.
Matthew 24:48But if that evil bondman should say in his heart, My lord delays to come,But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; But if that evil servant says in his heart, My lord is a long time in coming;
Matthew 24:49and begin to beat his fellow-bondmen, and eat and drink with the drunken;And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; And is cruel to the other servants, taking his pleasure with those who are overcome with wine;
Matthew 24:50the lord of that bondman shall come in a day when he does not expect it, and in an hour he knows not of,The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, The lord of that servant will come in a day when he is not looking for him, and in an hour of which he has no knowledge,
Matthew 24:51and shall cut him in two and appoint his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. And will have him cut in two, and will give him a part in the fate of the false ones: there will be weeping and cries of sorrow.
