John 1:1In [the] beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:2*He* was in the beginning with God.The same was in the beginning with God. He was in the beginning with God.
John 1:3All things received being through him, and without him not one [thing] received being which has received being. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing that exists came into being.
John 1:4In him was life, and the life was the light of men.In him was life; and the life was the light of men. In Him was Life, and that Life was the Light of men.
John 1:5And the light appears in darkness, and the darkness apprehended it not.And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overpowered it.
John 1:6There was a man sent from God, his name John. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
John 1:7He came for witness, that he might witness concerning the light, that all might believe through him.The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He came as a witness, in order that he might give testimony concerning the Light so that all might believe through him.
John 1:8*He* was not the light, but that he might witness concerning the light. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. He was not the Light, but he existed that he might give testimony concerning the Light.
John 1:9The true light was that which, coming into the world, lightens every man. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. The true Light was that which illumines every man by its coming into the world.
John 1:10He was in the world, and the world had [its] being through him, and the world knew him not.He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He was in the world, and the world came into existence through Him, and the world did not recognize Him.
John 1:11He came to his own, and his own received him not;He came unto his own, and his own received him not. He came to the things that were His own, and His own people gave Him no welcome.
John 1:12but as many as received him, to them gave he [the] right to be children of God, to those that believe on his name;But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: But all who have received Him, to them that is, to those who trust in His name He has given the privilege of becoming children of God;
John 1:13who have been born, not of blood, nor of flesh's will, nor of man's will, but of God.Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. who were begotten as such not by human descent, nor through an impulse of their own nature, nor through the will of a human father, but from God.
John 1:14And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we have contemplated his glory, a glory as of an only-begotten with a father), full of grace and truth; And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. And the Word came in the flesh, and lived for a time in our midst, so that we saw His glory the glory as of the Father's only Son, sent from His presence. He was full of grace and truth.
John 1:15(John bears witness of him, and he has cried, saying, This was he of whom I said, He that comes after me is preferred before me, for he was before me;)John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. John gave testimony concerning Him and cried aloud, saying, "This is He of whom I said, `He who is coming after me has been put before me,' for He was before me."
John 1:16for of his fulness we all have received, and grace upon grace. And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. For He it is from whose fulness we have all received, and grace upon grace.
John 1:17For the law was given by Moses: grace and truth subsists through Jesus Christ. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
John 1:18No one has seen God at any time; the only-begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, *he* hath declared [him].No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. No human eye has ever seen God: the only Son, who is in the Father's bosom He has made Him known.
John 1:19And this is the witness of John, when the Jews sent from Jerusalem priests and Levites that they might ask him, Thou, who art thou? And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou? This also is John's testimony, when the Jews sent to him a deputation of Priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him who he was.
John 1:20And he acknowledged and denied not, and acknowledged, I am not the Christ. And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ. He avowed he did not conceal the truth, but avowed, "I am not the Christ."

Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No. "What then?" they inquired; "are you Elijah?" "I am not," he said. "Are you the Prophet?" "No," he answered.
John 1:22They said therefore to him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to those who sent us. What sayest thou of thyself? Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself? So they pressed the question. "Who are you?" they said "that we may take an answer to those who sent us. What account do you give of yourself?"
John 1:23He said, I [am] [the] voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the path of [the] Lord, as said Esaias the prophet. He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias. "I am the voice," he replied, "of one crying aloud, `Make straight the Lord's way in the Desert,' fulfilling the words of the Prophet Isaiah."
John 1:24And they were sent from among the Pharisees. And they which were sent were of the Pharisees. They were Pharisees who had been sent.
John 1:25And they asked him and said to him, Why baptisest thou then, if thou art not the Christ, nor Elias, nor the prophet? And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet? Again they questioned him. "Why then do you baptize," they said, "if you are neither the Christ nor Elijah nor the Prophet?"
John 1:26John answered them saying, I baptise with water. John 1:30He it is of whom I said, A man comes after me who takes a place before me, because he *was* before me;This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me. This is He about whom I said, `After me is to come One who has been put before me, because He was before me.'
John 1:31and I knew him not; but that he might be manifested to Israel, therefore have I come baptising with water. And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water. John 1:33And I knew him not; but he who sent me to baptise with water, *he* said to me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending and abiding on him, he it is who baptises with [the] Holy Spirit. And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. I did not yet know Him, but He who sent me to baptize in water said to me, "`The One on whom you see the Spirit coming down, and remaining, He it is who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.'
John 1:34And I have seen and borne witness that this is the Son of God.And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God. "This I have seen, and I have become a witness that He is the Son of God."

And *they* said to him, Rabbi (which, being interpreted, signifies Teacher), where abidest thou? Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou? Then Jesus turned round, and seeing them following He asked them, "What is your wish?" "Rabbi," they replied `Rabbi' means `Teacher' "where are you staying?"
John 1:39He says to them, Come and see. They went therefore, and saw where he abode; and they abode with him that day. It was about the tenth hour.He saith unto them, Come and see. Thou shalt see greater things than these.Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these.
