Mark 5:3who had his dwelling in the tombs; and no one was able to bind him, not even with chains;Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: This man lived among the tombs, nor could any one now secure him even with a chain;
Mark 5:4because he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been torn asunder by him, and the fetters were shattered; and no one was able to subdue him.Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him. for many a time he had been left securely bound in fetters and chains, but afterwards the chains lay torn link from link, and the fetters in fragments, and there was no one strong enough to master him.
Mark 5:5And continually night and day, in the tombs and in the mountains, he was crying and cutting himself with stones.And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. And constantly, day and night, he remained among the tombs or on the hills, shrieking, and mangling himself with sharp stones.

Mark 5:9And he asked him, What is thy name? And he says to him, Legion is my name, because we are many.And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many. Jesus also questioned him. "What is your name?" He said. "Legion," he replied, "for there are a host of us."
Mark 5:10And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country. And he earnestly entreated Him not to send them away out of the country.
Mark 5:11Now there was there just at the mountain a great herd of swine feeding;Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding. Feeding there, on the mountain slope, was a great herd of swine.
Mark 5:12and they besought him, saying, Send us into the swine that we may enter into them.And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. So they besought Jesus. "Send us to the swine," they said, "so that we may enter into them."
Mark 5:13And Jesus [immediately] allowed them. And the unclean spirits going out entered into the swine, and the herd rushed down the steep slope, into the sea (about two thousand), and were choked in the sea.And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea. He gave them leave; and the foul spirits came out and entered into the swine, and the herd about 2,000 in number rushed headlong down the cliff into the Lake and were drowned in the Lake.
Mark 5:14And those that were feeding them fled and reported it in the city and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that had taken place.And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done. The swineherds fled, and spread the news in town and country. So the people came to see what it was that had happened;
Mark 5:15And they come to Jesus, and they see the possessed of demons sitting [and] clothed and sensible, [him] that had had the legion: and they were afraid.And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid. and when they came to Jesus, they beheld the demoniac quietly seated, clothed and of sane mind the man who had had the legion; and they were awe-stricken.
Mark 5:16And they that had seen [it] related to them how it had happened to the [man] possessed by demons, and concerning the swine.And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine. And those who had seen it told them the particulars of what had happened to the demoniac, and all about the swine.

As He was embarking, the man who had been possessed asked permission to accompany Him.
Mark 5:19And he suffered him not, but says to him, Go to thine home to thine own people, and tell them how great things the Lord has done for thee, and has had mercy on thee.Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee. But He would not allow it. "Go home to your family," He said, "and report to them all that the Lord has done for you, and the mercy He has shown you."
Mark 5:20And he went away and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him; and all wondered.And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel. So the man departed, and related publicly everywhere in the Ten Towns all that Jesus had done for him; and all were astonished.
Mark 5:21And Jesus having passed over in the ship again to the other side, a great crowd gathered to him; and he was by the sea.And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea. Mark 5:23and he besought him much, saying, My little daughter is at extremity; [I pray] that thou shouldest come and lay thy hands upon her so that she may be healed, and may live.And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live. and besought Him with many entreaties. "My little daughter," he said, "is at the point of death: I pray you come and lay your hands upon her, that she may recover and live."
Mark 5:24And he went with him, and a large crowd followed him and pressed on him.And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him. And Jesus went with him. And a dense crowd followed Him, and thronged Him on all sides.

Mark 5:26and had suffered much under many physicians, and had spent everything she had and had found no advantage from it, but had rather got worse,And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, and had undergone many different treatments under a number of doctors and had spent all she had without receiving benefit but on the contrary growing worse,
Mark 5:27having heard concerning Jesus, came in the crowd behind and touched his clothes;When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. heard of Jesus. And she came in the crowd behind Him and touched His cloak;
Mark 5:28for she said, If I shall touch but his clothes I shall be healed.For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. for she said, "If I but touch His clothes, I shall be cured."
Mark 5:29And immediately her fountain of blood was dried up, and she knew in her body that she was cured from the scourge.And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. In a moment the flow of her blood ceased, and she felt in herself that her complaint was cured.
Mark 5:30And immediately Jesus, knowing in himself the power that had gone out of him, turning round in the crowd said, Who has touched my clothes?And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? Immediately Jesus, well knowing that healing power had gone from within Him, turned round in the crowd and asked, "Who touched my clothes?"
Mark 5:31And his disciples said to him, Thou seest the crowd pressing on thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? "You see the multitude pressing you on all sides," His disciples exclaimed, "and yet you ask, `Who touched me?'"

While He is yet speaking, men come from the house to the Warden, and say, "Your daughter is dead: why trouble the Rabbi further?"
Mark 5:36But Jesus [immediately], having heard the word spoken, says to the ruler of the synagogue, Fear not; only believe.As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe. But Jesus, overhearing the words, said to the Warden, "Do not be afraid; only have faith."

He goes in. "Why all this outcry and loud weeping?" He asks; "the child is asleep, not dead."
Mark 5:40And they derided him. But he, having put [them] all out, takes with [him] the father of the child, and the mother, and those that were with him, and enters in where the child was lying.And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying. To this their reply is a scornful laugh.
