Revelation 1:1Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave to him, to shew to his bondmen what must shortly take place; and he signified [it], sending by his angel, to his bondman John,The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: The revelation given by Jesus Christ, which God granted Him, that He might make known to His servants certain events which must shortly come to pass: and He sent His angel and communicated it to His servant John.
Revelation 1:2who testified the word of God, and the testimony of Jesus Christ, all things that he saw.Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw. This is the John who taught the truth concerning the Word of God and the truth told us by Jesus Christ a faithful account of what he had seen.
Revelation 1:3Blessed [is] he that reads, and they that hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things written in it; for the time [is] near.Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. Blessed is he who reads and blessed are those who listen to the words of this prophecy and lay to heart what is written in it; for the time for its fulfillment is now close at hand.
Revelation 1:4John to the seven assemblies which [are] in Asia: Grace to you and peace from [him] who is, and who was, and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits which [are] before his throne;John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; John sends greetings to the seven Churches in the province of Asia. May grace be granted to you, and peace, from Him who is and was and evermore will be; and from the seven Spirits which are before His throne;
Revelation 1:5and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us, and has washed us from our sins in his blood,And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, and from Jesus Christ, the truthful witness, the first of the dead to be born to Life, and the Ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins with His own blood,
Revelation 1:6and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father: to him [be] the glory and the might to the ages of ages. Amen.And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. and has formed us into a Kingdom, to be priests to God, His Father to Him be ascribed the glory and the power until the Ages of the Ages. Amen.
Revelation 1:7Behold, he comes with the clouds, and every eye shall see him, and they which have pierced him, and all the tribes of the land shall wail because of him. Yea. Amen.Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. He is coming in the clouds, and every eye will see Him, and so will those who pierced Him; and all the nations of the earth will gaze on Him and mourn. Even so. Amen.
Revelation 1:8I am the Alpha and the Omega, saith [the] Lord God, he who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "He who is and was and evermore will be the Ruler of all."
Revelation 1:9I John, your brother and fellow-partaker in the tribulation and kingdom and patience, in Jesus, was in the island called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus.I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. I John, your brother, and a sharer with you in the sorrows and Kingship and patient endurance of Jesus, found myself in the island of Patmos, on account of the Word of God and the truth told us by Jesus.
Revelation 1:10I became in [the] Spirit on the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a great voice as of a trumpet,I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, In the Spirit I found myself present on the day of the Lord, and I heard behind me a loud voice which resembled the blast of a trumpet.
Revelation 1:11saying, What thou seest write in a book, and send to the seven assemblies: to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamos, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea. It said, "Write forthwith in a roll an account of what you see, and send it to the seven Churches to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyateira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea."
Revelation 1:12And I turned back to see the voice which spoke with me; and having turned, I saw seven golden lamps,And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; I turned to see who it was that was speaking to me; and then I saw seven golden lampstands,
Revelation 1:13and in the midst of the [seven] lamps [one] like [the] Son of man, clothed with a garment reaching to the feet, and girt about at the breasts with a golden girdle:And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. and in the center of the lampstands some One resembling the Son of Man, clothed in a robe which reached to His feet, and with a girdle of gold across His breast.
Revelation 1:14his head and hair white like white wool, as snow; and his eyes as a flame of fire;His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; His head and His hair were white, like white wool as white as snow; and His eyes resembled a flame of fire.
Revelation 1:15and his feet like fine brass, as burning in a furnace; and his voice as the voice of many waters;And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. His feet were like silver-bronze, when it is white-hot in a furnace; and His voice resembled the sound of many waters.
Revelation 1:16and having in his right hand seven stars; and out of his mouth a sharp two-edged sword going forth; and his countenance as the sun shines in its power.And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength. In His right hand He held seven stars, and a sharp, two-edged sword was seen coming from His mouth; and His glance resembled the sun when it is shining with its full strength.
Revelation 1:17And when I saw him I fell at his feet as dead; and he laid his right hand upon me, saying, Fear not; *I* am the first and the last,And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: When I saw Him, I fell at His feet as if I were dead. But He laid His right hand upon me and said, "Do not be afraid: I am the First and the Last, and the ever-living One.
Revelation 1:18and the living one: and I became dead, and behold, I am living to the ages of ages, and have the keys of death and of hades.I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. I died; but I am now alive until the Ages of the Ages, and I have the keys of the gates of Death and of Hades!
Revelation 1:19Write therefore what thou hast seen, and the things that are, and the things that are about to be after these.Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter; Write down therefore the things you have just seen, and those which are now taking place, and those which are soon to follow:
Revelation 1:20The mystery of the seven stars which thou hast seen on my right hand, and the seven golden lamps. The seven stars are angels of the seven assemblies; and the seven lamps are seven assemblies.The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches. the secret meaning of the seven stars which you have seen in My right hand, and of the seven lampstands of gold. The seven stars are the ministers of the seven Churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven Churches.
