Romans 12:1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the compassions of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, [which is] your intelligent service.I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. I plead with you therefore, brethren, by the compassionsof God, to present all your faculties to Him as a living and holy sacrifice acceptable to Him. This with you will be an act of reasonable worship.
Romans 12:2And be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of [your] mind, that ye may prove what [is] the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. And do not follow the customs of the present age, but be transformed by the entire renewal of your minds, so that you may learn by experience what God's will is that will which is good and beautiful and perfect.
Romans 12:3For I say, through the grace which has been given to me, to every one that is among you, not to have high thoughts above what he should think; but to think so as to be wise, as God has dealt to each a measure of faith.For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. For through the authority graciously given to me I warn every individual among you not to value himself unduly, but to cultivate sobriety of judgement in accordance with the amount of faith which God has allotted to each one.
Romans 12:4For, as in one body we have many members, but all the members have not the same office;For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: For just as there are in the one human body many parts, and these parts have not all the same function;
Romans 12:5thus we, [being] many, are one body in Christ, and each one members one of the other.So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. so collectively we form one body in Christ, while individually we are linked to one another as its members.
Romans 12:6But having different gifts, according to the grace which has been given to us, whether [it be] prophecy, [let us prophesy] according to the proportion of faith;Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; But since we have special gifts which differ in accordance with the diversified work graciously entrusted to us, if it is prophecy, let the prophet speak in exact proportion to his faith;
Romans 12:7or service, [let us occupy ourselves] in service; or he that teaches, in teaching;Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; if it is the gift of administration, let the administrator exercise a sound judgement in his duties.
Romans 12:8or he that exhorts, in exhortation; he that gives, in simplicity; he that leads, with diligence; he that shews mercy, with cheerfulness.Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. The teacher must do the same in his teaching; and he who exhorts others, in his exhortation. He who gives should be liberal; he who is in authority should be energetic and alert; and he who succours the afflicted should do it cheerfully.
Romans 12:9Let love be unfeigned; abhorring evil; cleaving to good:Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Let your love be perfectly sincere. Regard with horror what is evil; cling to what is right.
Romans 12:10as to brotherly love, kindly affectioned towards one another: as to honour, each taking the lead in paying it to the other:Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; As for brotherly love, be affectionate to one another; in matters of worldly honour, yield to one another.
Romans 12:11as to diligent zealousness, not slothful; in spirit fervent; serving the Lord.Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Do not be indolent when zeal is required. Be thoroughly warm-hearted, the Lord's own servants,
Romans 12:12As regards hope, rejoicing: as regards tribulation, enduring: as regards prayer, persevering:Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; full of joyful hope, patient under persecution, earnest and persistent in prayer.
Romans 12:13distributing to the necessities of the saints; given to hospitality.Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. Relieve the necessities of God's people; always practise hospitality.
Romans 12:14Bless them that persecute you; bless, and curse not.Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Invoke blessings on your persecutors blessings, not curses.
Romans 12:15Rejoice with those that rejoice, weep with those that weep.Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep.
Romans 12:16Have the same respect one for another, not minding high things, but going along with the lowly: be not wise in your own eyes:Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Have full sympathy with one another. Do not give your mind to high things, but let humble ways content you. Do not be wise in your own conceits.
Romans 12:17recompensing to no one evil for evil: providing things honest before all men:Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. Pay back to no man evil for evil. Take thought for what is right and seemly in every one's esteem.
Romans 12:18if possible, as far as depends on you, living in peace with all men;If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. If you can, so far as it depends on you, live at peace with all the world.
Romans 12:19not avenging yourselves, beloved, but give place to wrath; for it is written, Vengeance [belongs] to me, *I* will recompense, saith the Lord.Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Do not be revengeful, my dear friends, but give way before anger; for it is written, "`Revenge belongs to Me: I will pay back,' says the Lord."
Romans 12:20If therefore thine enemy should hunger, feed him; if he should thirst, give him drink; for, so doing, thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head.Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. On the contrary, therefore, if your enemy is hungry, give him food; if he is thirsty, quench his thirst. For by doing this you will be heaping burning coals upon his head.
Romans 12:21Be not overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome the evil with goodness.
