Matthew 18:1In that hour the disciples came to Jesus saying, Who then is greatest in the kingdom of the heavens?At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? At that hour came the disciples near to Jesus, saying, `Who, now, is greater in the reign of the heavens?`
Matthew 18:2And Jesus having called a little child to [him], set it in their midst,And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And Jesus having called near a child, did set him in the midst of them,
Matthew 18:3and said, Verily I say to you, Unless ye are converted and become as little children, ye will not at all enter into the kingdom of the heavens.And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. and said, `Verily I say to you, if ye may not be turned and become as the children, ye may not enter into the reign of the heavens;
Matthew 18:4Whoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, *he* is the greatest in the kingdom of the heavens;Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. whoever then may humble himself as this child, he is the greater in the reign of the heavens.
Matthew 18:5and whosoever shall receive one such little child in my name, receives me.And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. `And he who may receive one such child in my name, doth receive me,
Matthew 18:6But whosoever shall offend one of these little ones who believe in me, it were profitable for him that a great millstone had been hanged upon his neck and he be sunk in the depths of the sea.But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. and whoever may cause to stumble one of those little ones who are believing in me, it is better for him that a weighty millstone may be hanged upon his neck, and he may be sunk in the depth of the sea.
Matthew 18:7Woe to the world because of offences! For it must needs be that offences come; yet woe to that man by whom the offence comes!Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh! `Wo to the world from the stumbling-blocks! for there is a necessity for the stumbling-blocks to come, but wo to that man through whom the stumbling-block doth come!
Matthew 18:8And if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut it off and cast [it] from thee; it is good for thee to enter into life lame or maimed, [rather] than having two hands or two feet to be cast into eternal fire.Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire. `And if thy hand or thy foot doth cause thee to stumble, cut them off and cast from thee; it is good for thee to enter into the life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast to the fire the age-during.
Matthew 18:9And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out and cast [it] from thee; it is good for thee to enter into life one-eyed, [rather] than having two eyes to be cast into the hell of fire.And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire. `And if thine eye doth cause thee to stumble, pluck it out and cast from thee; it is good for thee one-eyed to enter into the life, rather than having two eyes to be cast to the gehenna of the fire.
Matthew 18:10See that ye do not despise one of these little ones; for I say unto you that their angels in [the] heavens continually behold the face of my Father who is in [the] heavens.Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven. `Beware! ye may not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you, that their messengers in the heavens do always behold the face of my Father who is in the heavens,
Matthew 18:11For the Son of man has come to save that which was lost.For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost. for the Son of Man did come to save the lost.
Matthew 18:12What think ye? If a certain man should have a hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, does he not, leaving the ninety and nine on the mountains, go and seek the one that has gone astray?How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? `What think ye? if a man may have an hundred sheep, and there may go astray one of them, doth he not having left the ninety-nine, having gone on the mountains seek that which is gone astray?
Matthew 18:13And if it should come to pass that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoices more because of it than because of the ninety and nine not gone astray.And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray. and if it may come to pass that he doth find it, verily I say to you, that he doth rejoice over it more than over the ninety-nine that have not gone astray;
Matthew 18:14So it is not the will of your Father who is in [the] heavens that one of these little ones should perish.Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish. so it is not will in presence of your Father who is in the heavens, that one of these little ones may perish.
Matthew 18:15But if thy brother sin against thee, go, reprove him between thee and him alone. If he hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. `And if thy brother may sin against thee, go and show him his fault between thee and him alone, if he may hear thee, thou didst gain thy brother;
Matthew 18:16But if he do not hear [thee], take with thee one or two besides, that every matter may stand upon the word of two witnesses or of three.But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. and if he may not hear, take with thee yet one or two, that by the mouth of two witnesses or three every word may stand.
Matthew 18:17But if he will not listen to them, tell it to the assembly; and if also he will not listen to the assembly, let him be to thee as one of the nations and a tax-gatherer.And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican. `And if he may not hear them, say [it] to the assembly, and if also the assembly he may not hear, let him be to thee as the heathen man and the tax-gatherer.
Matthew 18:18Verily I say to you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on the earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatsoever ye shall loose on the earth shall be loosed in heaven.Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. `Verily I say to you, Whatever things ye may bind upon the earth shall be having been bound in the heavens, and whatever things ye may loose on the earth shall be having been loosed in the heavens.
Matthew 18:19Again I say to you, that if two of you shall agree on the earth concerning any matter, whatsoever it may be that they shall ask, it shall come to them from my Father who is in [the] heavens.Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. `Again, I say to you, that, if two of you may agree on the earth concerning anything, whatever they may ask it shall be done to them from my Father who is in the heavens,
Matthew 18:20For where two or three are gathered together unto my name, there am I in the midst of them.For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. for where there are two or three gathered together to my name, there am I in the midst of them.`
Matthew 18:21Then Peter came to him and said, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? until seven times?Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Then Peter having come near to him, said, `Sir, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him till seven times?`
Matthew 18:22Jesus says to him, I say not to thee until seven times, but until seventy times seven.Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. Jesus saith to him, `I do not say to thee till seven times, but till seventy times seven.
Matthew 18:23For this cause the kingdom of the heavens has become like a king who would reckon with his bondmen.Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants. `Because of this was the reign of the heavens likened to a man, a king, who did will to take reckoning with his servants,
Matthew 18:24And having begun to reckon, one debtor of ten thousand talents was brought to him.And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents. and he having begun to take account, there was brought near to him one debtor of a myriad of talents,
Matthew 18:25But he not having anything to pay, [his] lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and his children, and everything that he had, and that payment should be made.But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. and he having nothing to pay, his lord did command him to be sold, and his wife, and the children, and all, whatever he had, and payment to be made.
Matthew 18:26The bondman therefore falling down did him homage, saying, Lord, have patience with me and I will pay thee all.The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. The servant then, having fallen down, was bowing to him, saying, Sir, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all;
Matthew 18:27And the lord of that bondman, being moved with compassion, loosed him and forgave him the loan.Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt. and the lord of that servant having been moved with compassion did release him, and the debt he forgave him.
Matthew 18:28But that bondman having gone out, found one of his fellow-bondmen who owed him a hundred denarii. And having seized him, he throttled him, saying, Pay [me] if thou owest anything.But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest. `And, that servant having come forth, found one of his fellow-servants who was owing him an hundred denaries, and having laid hold, he took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that which thou owest.
Matthew 18:29His fellow-bondman therefore, having fallen down [at his feet], besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee.And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. His fellow-servant then, having fallen down at his feet, was calling on him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all;
Matthew 18:30But he would not, but went away and cast him into prison, until he should pay what was owing.And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt. and he would not, but having gone away, he cast him into prison, till he might pay that which was owing.
Matthew 18:31But his fellow-bondmen, having seen what had taken place, were greatly grieved, and went and recounted to their lord all that had taken place.So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done. `And his fellow-servants having seen the things that were done, were grieved exceedingly, and having come, shewed fully to their lord all the things that were done;
Matthew 18:32Then his lord, having called him to [him], says to him, Wicked bondman! I forgave thee all that debt because thou besoughtest me;Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me: then having called him, his lord saith to him, Evil servant! all that debt I did forgive thee, seeing thou didst call upon me,
Matthew 18:33shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellow-bondman, as *I* also had compassion on thee?Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee? did it not behove also thee to have dealt kindly with thy fellow-servant, as I also dealt kindly with thee?
Matthew 18:34And his lord being angry delivered him to the tormentors till he paid all that was owing to him.And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. `And having been wroth, his lord delivered him to the inquisitors, till he might pay all that was owing to him;
Matthew 18:35Thus also my heavenly Father shall do to you if ye forgive not from your hearts every one his brother.So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses. so also my heavenly Father will do to you, if ye may not forgive each one his brother from your hearts their trespasses.`
