Acts 10:1But a certain man in Caesarea, by name Cornelius, a centurion of the band called Italic,There was a certain man in Cesarea, called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,Now there was a certain man in Caesarea, named Cornelius, the captain of the Italian band of the army;
Acts 10:2pious, and fearing God with all his house, [both] giving much alms to the people, and supplicating God continually,A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, who gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God always.A serious-minded man, fearing God with all his family; he gave much money to the poor, and made prayer to God at all times.
Acts 10:3saw plainly in a vision, about the ninth hour of the day, an angel of God coming unto him, and saying to him, Cornelius.He saw in a vision evidently, about the ninth hour of the day, an angel of God coming in to him, and saying to him, Cornelius.He saw in a vision, clearly, at about the ninth hour of the day, an angel of the Lord coming to him and saying to him, Cornelius!
Acts 10:4But he, having fixed his eyes upon him, and become full of fear, said, What is it, Lord? And he said to him, Thy prayers and thine alms have gone up for a memorial before God.And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said to him, Thy prayers and thy alms are come up for a memorial before God.And he, looking on him in fear, said, What is it, Lord? And he said to him, Your prayers and your offerings have come up to God, and he has kept them in mind.
Acts 10:5And now send men to Joppa and fetch Simon, who is surnamed Peter.And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:Now send men to Joppa, and get one Simon, named Peter,
Acts 10:6He lodges with a certain Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the sea.He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea-side: he will tell thee what thou oughtest to do.Who is living with Simon, a leather-worker, whose house is by the sea.
Acts 10:7And when the angel who was speaking to him had departed, having called two of his household and a pious soldier of those who were constantly with him,And when the angel who spoke to Cornelius had departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;And when the angel who said these words to him had gone away, he sent for two of his house-servants, and a God-fearing man of the army, one of those who were waiting on him at all times;
Acts 10:8and related all things to them, he sent them to Joppa.And when he had declared all these things to them, he sent them to Joppa.And having given them an account of everything, he sent them to Joppa.
Acts 10:9And on the morrow, as these were journeying and drawing near to the city, Peter went up on the house to pray, about the sixth hour.On the morrow, as they were going on their journey, and drew nigh to the city, Peter went up upon the house-top to pray, about the sixth hour:Now the day after, when they were on their journey and were near the town, Peter went up to the top of the house for prayer, about the sixth hour:
Acts 10:10And he became hungry and desired to eat. But as they were making ready an ecstasy came upon him:And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,And he was in need of food: but while they were getting it ready, a deep sleep came on him;
Acts 10:11and he beholds the heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending, as a great sheet, [bound] by [the] four corners [and] let down to the earth;And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending to him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:And he saw the heavens opening, and a vessel coming down, like a great cloth let down on the earth,
Acts 10:12in which were all the quadrupeds and creeping things of the earth, and the fowls of the heaven.In which were all manner of four-footed beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping animals, and fowls of the air.In which were all sorts of beasts and birds.
Acts 10:13And there was a voice to him, Rise, Peter, slay and eat.And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.And a voice came to him, saying, Come, Peter; take them for food.
Acts 10:14And Peter said, In no wise, Lord; for I have never eaten anything common or unclean.But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.But Peter said, No, Lord; for I have never taken food which is common or unclean.
Acts 10:15And [there was] a voice again the second time to him, What God has cleansed, do not *thou* make common.And the voice spoke to him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.And the voice came to him a second time, What God has made clean, do not you make common.
Acts 10:16And this took place thrice, and the vessel was straightway taken up into heaven.This was done thrice: and the vessel was received again into heaven.And this was done three times: and then the vessel was taken back into heaven.
Acts 10:17And as Peter doubted in himself what the vision which he had seen might mean, behold also the men who were sent by Cornelius, having sought out the house of Simon, stood at the gate,Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men who were sent from Cornelius had made inquiry for Simon's house, and were standing before the gate,Now while Peter was in doubt as to the purpose of this vision, the men who were sent by Cornelius, having made search for Simon's house, came to the door,
Acts 10:18and having called [some one], they inquired if Simon who was surnamed Peter was lodged there.And called, and asked whether Simon, who was surnamed Peter, lodged there.To see if Simon, named Peter, was living there.
Acts 10:19But as Peter continued pondering over the vision, the Spirit said to him, Behold, three men seek thee;While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said to him, Behold, three men seek thee.And, while Peter was turning the vision over in his mind, the Spirit said to him, See, three men are looking for you.
Acts 10:20but rise up, go down, and go with them, nothing doubting, because *I* have sent them.Arise therefore, and go down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.Go down, then, and go with them, doubting nothing, for I have sent them.
Acts 10:21And Peter going down to the men said, Behold, *I* am he whom ye seek: what is the cause for which ye come?Then Peter went down to the men who were sent to him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause for which ye have come?And Peter went down to the men, and said, I am the man you are looking for: why have you come?
Acts 10:22And they said, Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous man, and fearing God, and borne witness to by the whole nation of the Jews, has been divinely instructed by a holy angel to send for thee to his house, and hear words from thee.And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by a holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words from thee.And they said, Cornelius, a captain, an upright and God-fearing man, respected by all the nation of the Jews, had word from God by an angel to send for you to his house, and to give hearing to your words.
Acts 10:23Having therefore invited them in, he lodged them. And on the morrow, rising up he went away with them, and certain of the brethren from Joppa went with him.Then he called them in, and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him.So he took them in for the night. And the day after, he went with them, taking some of the brothers from Joppa with him.
Acts 10:24And on the morrow they came to Caesarea. But Cornelius was looking for them, having called together his kinsmen and [his] intimate friends.And on the morrow they entered into Cesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends.And the day after that, they came to Caesarea. And Cornelius was waiting for them, having got together his relations and his near friends.
Acts 10:25And when Peter was now coming in, Cornelius met him, and falling down did [him] homage.And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshiped him.And when Peter came in, Cornelius came to him and, falling down at his feet, gave him worship.
Acts 10:26But Peter made him rise, saying, Rise up: *I* myself also am a man.But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up: I myself also am a man.But Peter, lifting him up, said, Get up, for I am a man as you are.
Acts 10:27And he went in, talking with him, and found many gathered together.And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that had come together.And saying these words, he went in, and saw that a great number of people had come together;
Acts 10:28And he said to them, *Ye* know how it is unlawful for a Jew to be joined or come to one of a strange race, and to *me* God has shewn to call no man common or unclean.And he said to them, Ye know that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come to one of another nation; but God hath shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean.And he said to them, You yourselves have knowledge that it is against the law for a man who is a Jew to be in the company of one who is of another nation; but God has made it clear to me that no man may be named common or unclean:
Acts 10:29Wherefore also, having been sent for, I came without saying anything against it. I inquire therefore for what reason ye have sent for me.Therefore I came to you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?And so I came without question, when I was sent for. What then is your purpose in sending for me?
Acts 10:30And Cornelius said, Four days ago I had been [fasting] unto this hour, and the ninth [I was] praying in my house, and lo, a man stood before me in bright clothing,And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,And Cornelius said, Four days from now I was in my house in prayer at the ninth hour; and I saw before me a man in shining clothing,
Acts 10:31and said, Cornelius, thy prayer has been heard, and thy alms have come in remembrance before God.And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thy alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.Who said, Cornelius, your prayer has come to the ears of God, and your offerings are kept in his memory.
Acts 10:32Send therefore to Joppa and fetch Simon, who is surnamed Peter; he lodges in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the sea [who when he is come will speak to thee].Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he lodgeth in the house of one Simon a tanner, by the sea-side: who, when he cometh, will speak to thee.Send, then, to Joppa, and get Simon, named Peter, to come to you; he is living in the house of Simon, a leather-worker, by the sea.
Acts 10:33Immediately therefore I sent to thee, and *thou* hast well done in coming. Now therefore *we* are all present before God to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou hast come. Now therefore we are all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee from God.So, straight away, I sent for you; and you have done well to come. And now, we are all present before God, ready to give attention to all the things which the Lord has given you to say.
Acts 10:34And Peter opening his mouth said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons,Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, In truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:Then Peter said, Truly, I see clearly that God is no respecter of persons:
Acts 10:35but in every nation he that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.But in every nation, the man who has fear of him and does righteousness is pleasing to him.
Acts 10:36The word which he sent to the sons of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ, (*he* is Lord of all things,)The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)The word which he sent to the children of Israel, giving the good news of peace through Jesus Christ (who is Lord of all)
Acts 10:37*ye* know; the testimony which has spread through the whole of Judaea, beginning from Galilee after the baptism which John preachedThat word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;That word you yourselves have knowledge of, which was made public through all Judaea, starting from Galilee, after the baptism of which John was the preacher,
Acts 10:38Jesus who [was] of Nazareth: how God anointed him with [the] Holy Spirit and with power; who went through [all quarters] doing good, and healing all that were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.That God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed by the devil; for God was with him.About Jesus of Nazareth, how God gave the Holy Spirit to him, with power: and how he went about doing good and making well all who were troubled by evil spirits, for God was with him.
Acts 10:39*We* also [are] witnesses of all things which he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem; whom they also slew, having hanged him on a cross.And we are witnesses of all things which he did, both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree.And we are witnesses of all the things which he did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem; whom they put to death, hanging him on a tree.
Acts 10:40This [man] God raised up the third day and gave him to be openly seen,Him God raised the third day, and showed him openly;On the third day God gave him back to life, and let him be seen,
Acts 10:41not of all the people, but of witnesses who were chosen before of God, *us* who have eaten and drunk with him after he arose from among [the] dead.Not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen before by God, even to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.Not by all the people, but by witnesses marked out before by God, even by us, who took food and drink with him after he came back from the dead.
Acts 10:42And he commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that *he* it is who was determinately appointed of God [to be] judge of living and dead.And he commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is he who was ordained by God to be the Judge of the living and the dead.And he gave us orders to give news of this to the people, and to give public witness that this is he whom God has made judge of the living and the dead.
Acts 10:43To him all the prophets bear witness that every one that believes on him will receive through his name remission of sins.To him give all the prophets testimony, that through his name whoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.To him all the prophets give witness, that through his name everyone who has faith in him will have forgiveness of sins.
Acts 10:44While Peter was yet speaking these words the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were hearing the word.While Peter was yet speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all them who heard the word.While Peter was saying these words, the Holy Spirit came on all those who were hearing the word.
Acts 10:45And the faithful of the circumcision were astonished, as many as came with Peter, that upon the nations also the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out:And they of the circumcision who believed, were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Spirit.And the Jews of the faith, who had come with Peter, were full of wonder, because the Holy Spirit was given to the Gentiles,
Acts 10:46for they heard them speaking with tongues and magnifying God. Then Peter answered,For they heard them speak in languages and magnify God. Then answered Peter,And they were talking in tongues, and giving glory to God. Then Peter said,
Acts 10:47Can any one forbid water that these should not be baptised, who have received the Holy Spirit as we also [did]?Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit as well as we?Will any man say that these may not have baptism who have been given the Holy Spirit as we have?
Acts 10:48And he commanded them to be baptised in the name of the Lord. Then they begged him to stay some days.And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they requested him to tarry certain days.And he gave orders for them to have baptism in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they kept him with them for some days.
