Zechariah 11:1 | Open thy doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour thy cedars. | Open thy doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour thy cedars. | Open thy gates, 0 Libanus, and let fire devour thy cedars. |
Zechariah 11:2 | Howl, cypress, for the cedar is fallen; because the noble ones are spoiled. Howl, ye oaks of Bashan; for the strong forest is come down. | Howl, fir-tree, for the cedar is fallen; because the mighty are laid waste: howl, O ye oaks of Bashan; for the forest of the vintage is come down. | Howl, thou fir tree, for the cedar is fallen, for the mighty are laid waste: howl, ye oaks of Basan, because the fenced forest is cut down. |
Zechariah 11:3 | A voice of howling of the shepherds; for their glory is spoiled: a voice of roaring of young lions; for the pride of Jordan is spoiled. | There is a voice of the howling of the shepherds; for their glory is destroyed: a voice of the roaring of young lions; for the pride of Jordan is laid waste. | The voice of the howling of the shepherds, because their glory is laid waste: the voice of the roaring of the lions, because the pride of the Jordan is spoiled. |
Zechariah 11:4 | Thus saith Jehovah my God: Feed the flock of slaughter, | Thus saith the LORD my God; Feed the flock of the slaughter; | Thus saith the Lord my God: Feed the flock of the slaughter, |
Zechariah 11:5 | whose possessors slay them without being held guilty; and they that sell them say, Blessed be Jehovah! for I am become rich; and their own shepherds pity them not. | Whose possessors slay them, and hold themselves not guilty: and they that sell them say, Blessed be the LORD; for I am rich: and their own shepherds pity them not. | Which they that possessed, slew, and repented not, and they sold them, saying: Blessed be the Lord, we are become rich: and their shepherds spared them not. |
Zechariah 11:6 | For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land, saith Jehovah, and behold, I will deliver men, every one into his neighbour's hand, and into the hand of his king; and they shall smite the land, and I will not deliver out of their hand. | For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD: but lo, I will deliver the men every one into his neighbor's hand, and into the hand of his king: and they shall smite the land, and out of their hand I will not deliver them. | And I will no more spare the inhabitants of the land, saith the Lord: behold I will deliver the men, every one into his neighbour's hand, and into the hand of his king: and they shall destroy the land, and I will not deliver it out of their hand. |
Zechariah 11:7 | So I fed the flock of slaughter, truly the poor of the flock. And I took unto me two staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock. | And I will feed the flock of slaughter, even you, O poor of the flock. And I took to me two staffs; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock. | And I will feed the hock of slaughter for this, O ye poor of the dock. And I took unto me two rods, one I called Beauty, and the other I called a Cord, and I fed the flock. |
Zechariah 11:8 | And I destroyed three shepherds in one month; and my soul was vexed with them, and their soul also loathed me. | Three shepherds also I cut off in one month; and my soul lothed them, and their soul also abhorred me. | And I cut off three shepherds in one month, and my soul was straitened in their regard: for their soul also varied in my regard. |
Zechariah 11:9 | And I said, I will not feed you: that which dieth, let it die; and that which perisheth let it perish; and let them which are left eat every one the flesh of another. | Then said I, I will not feed you: that which dieth, let it die; and that which is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat, every one the flesh of another. | And I said: I will not feed you: that which dieth, let it die: and that which is cut off, let it be cut off: and let the rest devour every one the flesh of his neighbour. |
Zechariah 11:10 | And I took my staff, Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the peoples. | And I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people. | And I took my rod that was called Beauty, and I cut it asunder to make void my covenant, which I had made with all people. |
Zechariah 11:11 | And it was broken in that day; and so the poor of the flock that gave heed to me knew that it was the word of Jehovah. | And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the LORD. | And it was made void in that day: and so the poor of the flock that keep for me, understood that it is the word of the Lord. |
Zechariah 11:12 | And I said unto them, If ye think good, give [me] my hire; and if not, forbear. And they weighed for my hire thirty silver-pieces. | And I said to them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver. | And I said to them: If it be good in your eyes, bring hither my wages: and if not, be quiet. And they weighed for my wages thirty pieces of silver. |
Zechariah 11:13 | And Jehovah said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prized at by them. And I took the thirty silver-pieces, and cast them to the potter in the house of Jehovah. | And the LORD said to me, Cast it to the potter: a goodly price that I was prized at by them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD. | And the Lord said to me: Cast it to the statuary, a handsome price, that I was prized at by them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and I cast them into the house of the Lord to the statuary. |
Zechariah 11:14 | And I cut asunder mine other staff, Bands, to break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel. | Then I cut asunder my other staff, even Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel. | And I cut off my second rod that was called a Cord, that I might break the brotherhood between Juda and Israel. |
Zechariah 11:15 | And Jehovah said unto me, Take unto thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd. | And the LORD said to me, Take to thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd. | And the Lord said to me: Take to thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd. |
Zechariah 11:16 | For behold, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, who shall not visit those that are about to perish, neither shall seek that which is strayed away, nor heal that which is wounded, nor feed that which is sound; but he will eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their hoofs in pieces. | For lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, who shall not visit those that are cut off, neither shall seek the young one, nor heal that which is broken, nor feed that which standeth still: but he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their claws in pieces. | For behold I will raise up a shepherd in the land, who shall not visit what is forsaken, nor seek what is scattered, nor heal what is broken, nor nourish that which standeth, and he shall eat the flesh of the fat ones, and break their hoofs. |
Zechariah 11:17 | Woe to the worthless shepherd that leaveth the flock! The sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye; his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye utterly darkened. | Woe to the idle shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be wholly dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened. | O shepherd, and idol, that forsaketh the flock: the sword upon his arm and upon his right eye: his arm shall quite wither away, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened. |
