| Hosea 3:1 | And Jehovah said unto me, Go again, love a woman beloved of a friend, and an adulteress, according to the love of Jehovah for the children of Israel, though they turn to other gods, and love raisin-cakes. | | And the Lord said to me, Give your love again to a woman who has a lover and is false to her husband, even as the Lord has love for the children of Israel, though they are turned to other gods and are lovers of grape-cakes. |
| Hosea 3:2 | So I bought her to me for fifteen silver [pieces], and for a homer of barley, and a half-homer of barley. | | So I got her for myself for fifteen shekels of silver and a homer and a half of barley; |
| Hosea 3:3 | And I said unto her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be [another] man's, and I will also be for thee. | | And I said to her, You are to be mine for a long space of time; you are not to be false to me, and no other man is to have you for his wife; and so will I be to you. |
| Hosea 3:4 | For the children of Israel shall abide many days without king, and without prince, and without sacrifice, and without statue, and without ephod and teraphim. | | For the children of Israel will for a long time be without king and without ruler, without offerings and without pillars, and without ephod or images. |
| Hosea 3:5 | Afterwards shall the children of Israel return, and seek Jehovah their God, and David their king; and shall turn with fear toward Jehovah and toward his goodness, at the end of the days. | | And after that, the children of Israel will come back and go in search of the Lord their God and David their king; and they will come in fear to the Lord and to his mercies in the days to come. |
