Romans 12:1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the compassions of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, [which is] your intelligent service.I plead with you therefore, brethren, by the compassionsof God, to present all your faculties to Him as a living and holy sacrifice acceptable to Him. This with you will be an act of reasonable worship.For this reason I make request to you, brothers, by the mercies of God, that you will give your bodies as a living offering, holy, pleasing to God, which is the worship it is right for you to give him.
Romans 12:2And be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of [your] mind, that ye may prove what [is] the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.And do not follow the customs of the present age, but be transformed by the entire renewal of your minds, so that you may learn by experience what God's will is that will which is good and beautiful and perfect.And let not your behaviour be like that of this world, but be changed and made new in mind, so that by experience you may have knowledge of the good and pleasing and complete purpose of God.
Romans 12:3For I say, through the grace which has been given to me, to every one that is among you, not to have high thoughts above what he should think; but to think so as to be wise, as God has dealt to each a measure of faith.For through the authority graciously given to me I warn every individual among you not to value himself unduly, but to cultivate sobriety of judgement in accordance with the amount of faith which God has allotted to each one.But I say to every one of you, through the grace given to me, not to have an over-high opinion of himself, but to have wise thoughts, as God has given to every one a measure of faith.
Romans 12:4For, as in one body we have many members, but all the members have not the same office;For just as there are in the one human body many parts, and these parts have not all the same function;For, as we have a number of parts in one body, but all the parts have not the same use,
Romans 12:5thus we, [being] many, are one body in Christ, and each one members one of the other.so collectively we form one body in Christ, while individually we are linked to one another as its members.So we, though we are a number of persons, are one body in Christ, and are dependent on one another;
Romans 12:6But having different gifts, according to the grace which has been given to us, whether [it be] prophecy, [let us prophesy] according to the proportion of faith;But since we have special gifts which differ in accordance with the diversified work graciously entrusted to us, if it is prophecy, let the prophet speak in exact proportion to his faith;And having different qualities by reason of the grace given to us, such as the quality of a prophet, let it be made use of in relation to the measure of our faith;
Romans 12:7or service, [let us occupy ourselves] in service; or he that teaches, in teaching;if it is the gift of administration, let the administrator exercise a sound judgement in his duties.Or the position of a Deacon of the church, let a man give himself to it; or he who has the power of teaching, let him make use of it;
Romans 12:8or he that exhorts, in exhortation; he that gives, in simplicity; he that leads, with diligence; he that shews mercy, with cheerfulness.The teacher must do the same in his teaching; and he who exhorts others, in his exhortation. He who gives should be liberal; he who is in authority should be energetic and alert; and he who succours the afflicted should do it cheerfully.He who has the power of comforting, let him do so; he who gives, let him give freely; he who has the power of ruling, let him do it with a serious mind; he who has mercy on others, let it be with joy.
Romans 12:9Let love be unfeigned; abhorring evil; cleaving to good:Let your love be perfectly sincere. Regard with horror what is evil; cling to what is right.Let love be without deceit. Be haters of what is evil; keep your minds fixed on what is good.
Romans 12:10as to brotherly love, kindly affectioned towards one another: as to honour, each taking the lead in paying it to the other:As for brotherly love, be affectionate to one another; in matters of worldly honour, yield to one another.Be kind to one another with a brother's love, putting others before yourselves in honour;
Romans 12:11as to diligent zealousness, not slothful; in spirit fervent; serving the Lord.Do not be indolent when zeal is required. Be thoroughly warm-hearted, the Lord's own servants,Be not slow in your work, but be quick in spirit, as the Lord's servants;
Romans 12:12As regards hope, rejoicing: as regards tribulation, enduring: as regards prayer, persevering:full of joyful hope, patient under persecution, earnest and persistent in prayer.Being glad in hope, quiet in trouble, at all times given to prayer,
Romans 12:13distributing to the necessities of the saints; given to hospitality.Relieve the necessities of God's people; always practise hospitality.Giving to the needs of the saints, ready to take people into your houses.
Romans 12:14Bless them that persecute you; bless, and curse not.Invoke blessings on your persecutors blessings, not curses.Give blessing and not curses to those who are cruel to you.
Romans 12:15Rejoice with those that rejoice, weep with those that weep.Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep.Take part in the joy of those who are glad, and in the grief of those who are sorrowing.
Romans 12:16Have the same respect one for another, not minding high things, but going along with the lowly: be not wise in your own eyes:Have full sympathy with one another. Do not give your mind to high things, but let humble ways content you. Do not be wise in your own conceits.Be in harmony with one another. Do not have a high opinion of yourselves, but be in agreement with common people. Do not give yourselves an air of wisdom.
Romans 12:17recompensing to no one evil for evil: providing things honest before all men:Pay back to no man evil for evil. Take thought for what is right and seemly in every one's esteem.Do not give evil for evil to any man. Let all your business be well ordered in the eyes of all men.
Romans 12:18if possible, as far as depends on you, living in peace with all men;If you can, so far as it depends on you, live at peace with all the world.As far as it is possible for you be at peace with all men.
Romans 12:19not avenging yourselves, beloved, but give place to wrath; for it is written, Vengeance [belongs] to me, *I* will recompense, saith the Lord.Do not be revengeful, my dear friends, but give way before anger; for it is written, "`Revenge belongs to Me: I will pay back,' says the Lord."Do not give punishment for wrongs done to you, dear brothers, but give way to the wrath of God; for it is said in the holy Writings, Punishment is mine, I will give reward, says the Lord.
Romans 12:20If therefore thine enemy should hunger, feed him; if he should thirst, give him drink; for, so doing, thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head.On the contrary, therefore, if your enemy is hungry, give him food; if he is thirsty, quench his thirst. For by doing this you will be heaping burning coals upon his head.But if one who has hate for you is in need of food or of drink, give it to him, for in so doing you will put coals of fire on his head.
Romans 12:21Be not overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome the evil with goodness.Do not let evil overcome you, but overcome evil by good.
