Leviticus 9:1 | And it came to pass on the eighth day, [that] Moses called Aaron and his sons, and the elders of Israel, | | And when the eighth day was come, Moses called Aaron and his sons, and the ancients of Israel, and said to Aaron: |
Leviticus 9:2 | and said to Aaron, Take thee a young calf for a sin-offering, and a ram for a burnt-offering, without blemish, and present [them] before Jehovah; | | Take of the herd a calf for sin, and a ram for a holocaust, both without blemish, and offer them before the Lord. |
Leviticus 9:3 | and to the children of Israel shalt thou speak, saying, Take a buck of the goats for a sin-offering, and a calf and a lamb, yearlings, without blemish, for a burnt-offering; | | And to the children of Israel thou shalt say: Take ye a he goat for sin, and a calf, and a lamb, both of a year old, and without blemish for a holocaust, |
Leviticus 9:4 | and a bullock and a ram for a peace-offering, to sacrifice before Jehovah; and an oblation mingled with oil; for to-day Jehovah will appear to you. | | Also a bullock and a ram for peace offerings: and immolate them before the Lord, offering for the sacrifice of every one of them flour tempered with oil; for to day the Lord will appear to you. |
Leviticus 9:5 | And they brought what Moses commanded before the tent of meeting; and all the assembly approached and stood before Jehovah. | | They brought therefore all things that Moses had commanded before the door of the tabernacle: where when all the multitude stood, |
Leviticus 9:6 | And Moses said, This is the thing which Jehovah has commanded that ye should do; and the glory of Jehovah shall appear to you. | | Moses said: This is the word, which the Lord hath commanded: do it, and his glory will appear to you. |
Leviticus 9:7 | And Moses said unto Aaron, Go to the altar, and offer thy sin-offering, and thy burnt-offering, and make atonement for thyself, and for the people; and offer the offering of the people, and make atonement for them, as Jehovah has commanded. | | And he said to Aaron: Approach to the altar, and offer sacrifice for thy sin: offer the holocaust, and pray for thyself and for the people: and when thou hast slain the people's victim, pray for them, as the Lord hath commanded. |
Leviticus 9:8 | And Aaron went to the altar and slaughtered the calf of the sin-offering which was for himself; | | And forthwith Aaron, approaching to the altar, immolated the calf for his sin: |
Leviticus 9:9 | and the sons of Aaron presented the blood to him, and he dipped his finger in the blood, and put [it] on the horns of the altar, and poured out the blood at the bottom of the altar. | | And his sons brought him the blood of it: and he dipped his finger therein, and touched the horns of the altar, and poured the rest at the foot thereof. |
Leviticus 9:10 | And the fat, and the kidneys, and the net above the liver, of the sin-offering, he burned on the altar, as Jehovah had commanded Moses. | | And the fat, and the little kidneys, and the caul of the liver, which are for sin, he burnt upon the altar, as the Lord had commanded Moses: |
Leviticus 9:11 | And the flesh and the skin he burned with fire outside the camp. | | But the flesh and skins thereof he burnt with fire without the camp. |
Leviticus 9:12 | And he slaughtered the burnt-offering; and Aaron's sons delivered to him the blood, which he sprinkled on the altar round about. | | He immolated also the victim of holocaust: and his sons brought him the blood thereof, which he poured round about on the altar. |
Leviticus 9:13 | And they delivered the burnt-offering to him, in the pieces thereof, and the head; and he burned [them] on the altar. | | And the victim being cut into pieces, they brought to him the head and all the members, all which he burnt with fire upon the altar, |
Leviticus 9:14 | And he washed the inwards and the legs, and burned [them] upon the burnt-offering, on the altar. | | Having first washed the entrails and the feet with water. |
Leviticus 9:15 | And he presented the people's offering, and took the goat of the sin-offering which was for the people and slaughtered it, and offered it for sin, as the first. | | Then offering for the sin of the people, he slew the he goat: and expiating the altar, |
Leviticus 9:16 | And he presented the burnt-offering and offered it according to the ordinance. | | He offered the holocaust: |
Leviticus 9:17 | And he presented the oblation, and took a handful of it, and burned it on the altar, besides the burnt-offering of the morning. | | Adding in the sacrifice the libations, which are offered withal, and burning them upon the altar, besides the ceremonies of the morning holocaust. |
Leviticus 9:18 | And he slaughtered the bullock and the ram of the sacrifice of peace-offering which was for the people. And Aaron's sons delivered to him the blood, and he sprinkled it on the altar round about; | | He immolated also the bullock and the ram, the peace offerings of the people: and his sons brought him the blood, which he poured upon the altar round about. |
Leviticus 9:19 | and the pieces of fat of the bullock and of the ram, the fat tail and what covers [the inwards], and the kidneys, and the net of the liver; | | The fat also of the bullock, and the rump of the ram, and the two little kidneys, with their fat, and the caul of the liver, |
Leviticus 9:20 | and they put the pieces of fat on the breast-pieces, and he burned the pieces of fat on the altar; | | They put upon the breasts. And after the fat was burnt upon the altar, |
Leviticus 9:21 | and the breast-pieces and the right shoulder Aaron waved as a wave-offering before Jehovah, as Moses had commanded. | | Aaron separated their breasts, and the right shoulders, elevating them before the Lord, as Moses had commanded. |
Leviticus 9:22 | And Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people and blessed them, and came down after the offering of the sin-offering, and the burnt-offering, and the peace-offering. | | And stretching forth his hands to the people, he blessed them. And so the victims for sin, and the holocausts, and the peace offerings being finished, he came down. |
Leviticus 9:23 | And Moses and Aaron went into the tent of meeting, and came out and blessed the people; and the glory of Jehovah appeared to all the people. | | And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of the testimony, and afterwards came forth and blessed the people. And the glory of the Lord appeared to all the multitude: |
Leviticus 9:24 | And there went out fire from before Jehovah, and consumed on the altar the burnt-offering, and the pieces of fat; and all the people saw it, and they shouted, and fell on their face. | | And behold a fire, coming forth from the Lord, devoured the holocaust, and the fat that was upon the altar: which when the multitude saw, they praised the Lord, falling on their faces. |
