| 2nd-John 1:1 | The elder to [the] elect lady and her children, whom *I* love in truth, and not *I* only but also all who have known the truth, | The Elder to the elect lady and her children. Truly I love you all, and not I alone, but also all who know the truth, | The elder unto the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth; |

| 2nd-John 1:6 | And this is love, that we should walk according to his commandments. This is the commandment, according as ye have heard from the beginning, that ye might walk in it. | The love of which I am speaking consists in our living in obedience to God's commands. God's command is that you should live in obedience to what you all heard from the very beginning. | And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. |
| 2nd-John 1:7 | For many deceivers have gone out into the world, they who do not confess Jesus Christ coming in flesh this is the deceiver and the antichrist. | For many deceivers have gone out into the world men who do not acknowledge Jesus as Christ who has come in human nature. Such a one is `the deceiver' and `the anti-Christ.' | For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. |

Yet I hope to come to see you and speak face to face, so that your happiness may be complete. | Having many things to write unto you, I would not write with paper and ink: but I trust to come unto you, and speak face to face, that our joy may be full. |
