Amos 7:1Thus did the Lord Jehovah shew unto me; and behold, he formed locusts in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth, and behold, it was the latter growth after the king's mowings.Thus the Lord Yahweh showed me: and, behold, he formed locusts in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and, behold, it was the latter growth after the king's harvest.
Amos 7:2And it came to pass, when they had wholly eaten the grass of the land, that I said, O Lord Jehovah, forgive, I beseech thee! How shall Jacob arise? for he is small.It happened that, when they made an end of eating the grass of the land, then I said, Lord Yahweh, forgive, I beg you: how shall Jacob stand? for he is small.
Amos 7:3Jehovah repented for this: It shall not be, said Jehovah.Yahweh repented concerning this: It shall not be, says Yahweh.
Amos 7:4Thus did the Lord Jehovah shew unto me; and behold, the Lord Jehovah called to contend by fire; and it devoured the great deep, and ate up the inheritance.Thus the Lord Yahweh showed me: and, behold, the Lord Yahweh called to content by fire; and it devoured the great deep, and would have eaten up the land.
Amos 7:5Then said I, O Lord Jehovah, cease, I beseech thee! How shall Jacob arise? for he is small.Then said I, Lord Yahweh, cease, I beg you: how shall Jacob stand? for he is small.
Amos 7:6Jehovah repented for this: This also shall not be, said the Lord Jehovah.Yahweh repented concerning this: this also shall not be, says the Lord Yahweh.
Amos 7:7Thus did he shew unto me; and behold, the Lord stood upon a wall [made] by a plumb-line, with a plumb-line in his hand.Thus he showed me: and, behold, the Lord stood beside a wall made by a plumb-line, with a plumb-line in his hand.
Amos 7:8And Jehovah said unto me, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumb-line. And the Lord said, Behold, I will set a plumb-line in the midst of my people Israel: I will not again pass by them any more.Yahweh said to me, Amos, what see you? I said, A plumb-line. Then said the Lord, Behold, I will set a plumb-line in the midst of my people Israel; I will not again pass by them any more;
Amos 7:9And the high places of Isaac shall be desolated, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will arise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.and the high places of Isaac shall be desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.
Amos 7:10Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos hath conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words.Then Amaziah the priest of Beth-el sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words.
Amos 7:11For thus Amos saith: Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall certainly go into captivity out of his land.For thus Amos says, Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of his land.
Amos 7:12And Amaziah said unto Amos, [Thou] seer, go, flee away into the land of Judah, and eat bread there, and prophesy there.Also Amaziah said to Amos, you seer, go, flee you away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there:
Amos 7:13But prophesy not again any more at Bethel; for it is the king's sanctuary, and it is the house of the kingdom.but don't prophesy again any more at Bethel; for it is the king's sanctuary, and it is a royal house.
Amos 7:14And Amos answered and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was a herdman, and a gatherer of sycamore fruit.Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was a herdsman, and a dresser of sycamore-trees:
Amos 7:15And Jehovah took me as I followed the flock, and Jehovah said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel.and Yahweh took me from following the flock, and Yahweh said to me, Go, prophesy to my people Israel.
Amos 7:16And now hear thou the word of Jehovah: Thou sayest, Prophesy not against Israel, and utter not [words] against the house of Isaac.Now therefore hear you the word of Yahweh: You say, Don't prophesy against Israel, and don't drop [your word] against the house of Isaac;
Amos 7:17Therefore thus saith Jehovah: Thy wife shall be a harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided with the line; and thou shalt die in a land that is unclean; and Israel shall certainly go into captivity, out of his land.therefore thus says Yahweh: Your wife shall be a prostitute in the city, and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword, and your land shall be divided by line; and you yourself shall die in a land that is unclean, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of his land.
