Revelation 2:2 | I know thy works and [thy] labour, and thine endurance, and that thou canst not bear evil [men]; and thou hast tried them who say that themselves [are] apostles and are not, and hast found them liars; | I know your doings and your toil and patient suffering. And I know that you cannot tolerate wicked men, but have put to the test those who say that they themselves are Apostles but are not, and you have found them to be liars. | "I know your works, and your toil and perseverance, and that you can't tolerate evil men, and have tested those who call themselves apostles, and they are not, and found them false. |
Revelation 2:3 | and endurest, and hast borne for my name's sake, and hast not wearied: | And you endure patiently and have borne burdens for My sake and have never grown weary. | You have perseverance and have endured for my name's sake, and have not grown weary. |
Revelation 2:4 | but I have against thee, that thou hast left thy first love. | Yet I have this against you that you no longer love Me as you did at first. | But I have this against you, that you left your first love. |
Revelation 2:5 | Remember therefore whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works: but if not, I am coming to thee, and I will remove thy lamp out of its place, except thou shalt repent. | Be mindful, therefore, of the height from which you have fallen. Repent at once, and act as you did at first, or else I will surely come and remove your lampstand out of its place unless you repent. | Remember therefore from where you have fallen, and repent and do the first works; or else I am coming to you, and will move your lampstand out of its place, unless you repent. |
Revelation 2:6 | But this thou hast, that thou hatest the works of the Nicolaitanes, which *I* also hate. | Yet this you have in your favor: you hate the doings of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. | But this you have, that you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. |
Revelation 2:7 | He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. To him that overcomes, I will give to him to eat of the tree of life which is in the paradise of God. | "`Let all who have ears give heed to what the Spirit is saying to the Churches. To him who overcomes I will give the privilege of eating the fruit of the Tree of Life, which is in the Paradise of God.' | He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. To him who overcomes I will give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of my God. |
Revelation 2:8 | And to the angel of the assembly in Smyrna write: These things says the first and the last, who became dead, and lived: | "To the minister of the Church at Smyrna write as follows: "`This is what the First and the Last says He who died and has returned to life. | "To the angel of the assembly in Smyrna write: "The first and the last, who was dead, and has come to life says these things: |
Revelation 2:9 | I know thy tribulation and thy poverty; but thou art rich; and the railing of those who say that they themselves are Jews, and are not, but a synagogue of Satan. | Your sufferings I know, and your poverty but you are rich and the evil name given you by those who say that they themselves are Jews, and are not, but are Satan's synagogue. | "I know your oppression, and your poverty (but you are rich), and the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews, and they are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. |
Revelation 2:10 | Fear nothing [of] what thou art about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days. Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give to thee the crown of life. | Dismiss your fears concerning all that you are about to suffer. I tell you that the Devil is about to throw some of you into prison that you may be put to the test, and for ten days you will have to endure persecution. Be faithful to the End, even if you have to die, and then I will give you the victor's Wreath of Life. | Don't be afraid of the things which you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested; and you will have oppression for ten days. Be faithful to death, and I will give you the crown of life. |
Revelation 2:11 | He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. He that overcomes shall in no wise be injured of the second death. | "`Let all who have ears give heed to what the Spirit is saying to the Churches. Revelation 2:13 | I know where thou dwellest, where the throne of Satan [is]; and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in the days in which Antipas my faithful witness [was], who was slain among you, where Satan dwells. | Satan's throne is there; and yet you are true to Me, and did not deny your faith in Me, even in the days of Antipas My witness and faithful friend, who was put to death among you, in the place where Satan dwells. | "I know your works and where you dwell, where Satan's throne is. You hold firmly to my name, and didn't deny my faith, even in the days of Antipas my witness, my faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells. |
Revelation 2:14 | But I have a few things against thee: that thou hast there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to cast a snare before the sons of Israel, to eat [of] idol sacrifices and commit fornication. | Yet I have a few things against you, because you have with you some that cling to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling-block in the way of the descendants of Israel to eat what had been sacrificed to idols, and commit fornication. | But I have a few things against you, because you have there some who hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to throw a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality. |
Revelation 2:15 | So thou also hast those who hold the doctrine of Nicolaitanes in like manner. | So even you have some that cling in the same way to the teaching of the Nicolaitans. | So you also have some who hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans in the same way. |
Revelation 2:16 | Repent therefore: but if not, I come to thee quickly, and I will make war with them with the sword of my mouth. | Repent, at once; or else I will come to you quickly, and will make war upon them with the sword which is in My mouth. | Repent therefore, or else I am coming to you quickly, and I will make war against them with the sword of my mouth. |

Revelation 2:20 | But I have against thee that thou permittest the woman Jezebel, she who calls herself prophetess, and she teaches and leads astray my servants to commit fornication and eat of idol sacrifices. | Yet I have this against you, that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and by her teaching leads astray My servants, so that they commit fornication and eat what has been sacrificed to idols. | But I have this against you, that you tolerate your woman, Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. She teaches and seduces my servants to commit sexual immorality, and to eat things sacrificed to idols. |
Revelation 2:21 | And I gave her time that she should repent, and she will not repent of her fornication. | I have given her time to repent, but she is determined not to repent of her fornication. | I gave her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her sexual immorality. |
Revelation 2:22 | Behold, I cast her into a bed, and those that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of her works, | I tell you that I am about to cast her upon a bed of sickness, and I will severely afflict those who commit adultery with her, unless they repent of conduct such as hers. | Behold, I will throw her into a bed, and those who commit adultery with her into great oppression, unless they repent of her works. |
Revelation 2:23 | and her children will I kill with death; and all the assemblies shall know that *I* am he that searches [the] reins and [the] hearts; and I will give to you each according to your works. | Her children too shall surely die; and all the Churches shall come to know that I am He who searches into men's inmost thoughts; and to each of you I will give a requital which shall be in accordance with what your conduct has been. | I will kill her children with Death, and all the assemblies will know that I am he who searches the minds and hearts. I will give to each one of you according to your deeds. |

Revelation 2:25 | but what ye have hold fast till I shall come. | Only that which you already possess, cling to until I come. | Nevertheless that which you have, hold firmly until I come. |
Revelation 2:26 | And he that overcomes, and he that keeps unto the end my works, to him will I give authority over the nations, | "`And to him who overcomes and obeys My commands to the very end, I will give authority over the nations of the earth. | He who overcomes, and he who keeps my works to the end, to him will I give authority over the nations. |
Revelation 2:27 | and he shall shepherd them with an iron rod; as vessels of pottery are they broken in pieces, as I also have received from my Father; | And he shall be their shepherd, ruling them with a rod of iron, just as earthenware jars are broken to pieces; and his power over them shall be like that which I Myself have received from My Father; | He will rule them with a rod of iron, shattering them like clay pots; as I also have received of my Father: |
