Genesis 46:1

And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beer-sheba; and he offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.

Genesis 46:2

And God spoke to Israel in the visions of the night and said, Jacob, Jacob! And he said, Here am I.

God spoke to Israel in the visions of the night, and said, "Jacob, Jacob!" He said, "Here I am."

And God said to Israel in a night-vision, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.

Genesis 46:3

And he said, I am ùGod, the God of thy father: fear not to go down to Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation.

He said, "I am God, the God of your father. Don't be afraid to go down into Egypt; for there I will make of you a great nation.

And he said, I am God, the God of your father: go down to Egypt without fear, for I will make a great nation of you there:

Genesis 46:4

I will go down with thee to Egypt, and I will also certainly bring thee up; and Joseph shall put his hand on thine eyes.

I will go down with you into Egypt. I will also surely bring you up again. Joseph will close your eyes."

I will go down with you to Egypt, and I will see that you come back again, and at your death Joseph will put his hands on your eyes.

Genesis 46:5

And Jacob rose up from Beer-sheba; and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, on the waggons that Pharaoh had sent to carry him.

Genesis 46:6

And they took their cattle, and their goods which they had acquired in the land of Canaan, and came to Egypt, Jacob and all his seed with him;

Genesis 46:7

his sons and his sons' sons with him, his daughters and his sons' daughters and all his seed he brought with him to Egypt.

his sons, and his sons' sons with him, his daughters, and his sons' daughters, and all his seed brought he with him into Egypt.

His sons and his sons' sons, his daughters and his daughters' sons and all his family he took with him into Egypt.

Genesis 46:8

And these are the names of the sons of Israel who came into Egypt: Jacob and his sons. Jacob's firstborn, Reuben.

These are the names of the children of Israel, who came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob's firstborn.

And these are the names of the children of Israel who came into Egypt, even Jacob and all his sons: Reuben, Jacob's oldest son;

And the sons of Reuben: Enoch, and Phallu, and Hezron, and Carmi.

And the sons of Simeon: Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Saul the son of a Canaanitish woman.

And the sons of Judah: Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Pherez, and Zerah; but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Pherez were Hezron and Hamul.

These are the sons of Leah, whom she bore to Jacob in Padan-Aram; and his daughter, Dinah. All the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty-three.

These are the sons of Leah, whom she bore to Jacob in Paddan-aram, with his daughter Dinah. All the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty-three.

All these, together with his daughter Dinah, were the children of Leah, whom Jacob had by her in Paddan-aram; they were thirty-three in number.

And the sons of Gad: Ziphion and Haggi, Shuni and Ezbon, Eri, and Arodi, and Areli.

These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter; and she bore these to Jacob: sixteen souls.

The sons of Rachel Jacob's wife: Joseph and Benjamin.

And to Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, whom Asnath bore to him, the daughter of Potipherah the priest in On.

Genesis 46:21

And the sons of Benjamin: Belah, and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera and Naaman, Ehi and Rosh, Muppim, and Huppim, and Ard.

All the souls that came with Jacob to Egypt, that had come out of his loins, besides Jacob's sons' wives: all the souls were sixty-six.

Genesis 46:30

And Israel said to Joseph, Now let me die, after I have seen thy face, since thou still livest.

Israel said to Joseph, "Now let me die, since I have seen your face, that you are still alive."

And Israel said to Joseph, Now that I have seen you living again, I am ready for death.

And Joseph said to his brethren and to his father's house, I will go up, and tell Pharaoh, and say to him, My brethren and my father's house, who were in the land of Canaan, are come to me;

Joseph said to his brothers, and to his father's house, "I will go up, and speak with Pharaoh, and will tell him, 'My brothers, and my father's house, who were in the land of Canaan, have come to me.

And Joseph said to his brothers and to his father's people, I will go and give the news to Pharaoh, and say to him, My brothers and my father's people, from the land of Canaan, have come to me;

Genesis 46:32

and the men are shepherds, for they have been occupied with cattle; and they have brought their sheep, and their cattle, and all that they have.

These men are shepherds, for they have been keepers of cattle, and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.'

And these men are keepers of sheep and owners of cattle, and have with them their flocks and their herds and all they have.

Genesis 46:33

And it shall come to pass that when Pharaoh shall call you and say, What is your occupation?

It will happen, when Pharaoh summons you, and will say, 'What is your occupation?'

Now when Pharaoh sends for you and says, What is your business?

Genesis 46:34

then ye shall say, Thy servants are men that have been occupied with cattle from our youth even until now, both we and our fathers; in order that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination to the Egyptians.

that you shall say, 'Your servants have been keepers of cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and our fathers:' that you may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination to the Egyptians."

You are to say, Your servants have been keepers of cattle from our early days up to now, like our fathers; in this way you will be able to have the land of Goshen for yourselves; because keepers of sheep are unclean in the eyes of the Egyptians.
