2nd-Samuel 5:4David was thirty years old when he began to reign; he reigned forty years.David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years. The ancients also of Israel came to the king to Hebron, and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the Lord: and they anointed David to be king over Israel.
2nd-Samuel 5:5In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months; and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah. In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months; and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah.David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.
2nd-Samuel 5:6And the king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land; and they spoke to David, saying, Thou shalt not come in hither, but the blind and the lame will drive thee back; as much as to say, David will not come in hither. The king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, who spoke to David, saying, Except you take away the blind and the lame, you shall not come in here; thinking, David can't come in here.In Hebron he reigned over Juda seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned three and thirty years over all Israel and Juda.
2nd-Samuel 5:7But David took the stronghold of Zion, which is the city of David.Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion; the same is the city of David. And the king and all the men that were with him went to Jerusalem to the Jebusites the inhabitants of the land: and they said to David: Thou shalt not come in hither unless thou take away the blind and the lame that say: David shall not come in hither.
2nd-Samuel 5:8And David said on that day, Whoever smites the Jebusites and gets up to the watercourse, and the lame and the blind hated of David's soul ...! Therefore they say, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.David said on that day, Whoever strikes the Jebusites, let him get up to the watercourse, and [strike] the lame and the blind, who are hated of David's soul. Why they say, There are the blind and the lame; he can't come into the house. But David took the castle of Sion, the same is the city of David.
2nd-Samuel 5:9So David dwelt in the stronghold, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from the Millo and inward.David lived in the stronghold, and called it the city of David. David built round about from Millo and inward. For David had offered that day a reward to whosoever should strike the Jebusites and get up to the gutters of the tops of the houses, and take away the blind and the lame that hated the soul of David: therefore it is said in the proverb: The blind and the lame shall not come into the temple.
2nd-Samuel 5:10And David became continually greater; and Jehovah the God of hosts was with him.David grew greater and greater; for Yahweh, the God of hosts, was with him.And David dwelt in the castle, and called it, The city of David: and built round about from Mello and inwards.

And the Lord said to David: Go up, for I will surely deliver the Philistines into thy hand.
2nd-Samuel 5:20And David came to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there; and he said, Jehovah has broken in upon mine enemies before me, as the breaking forth of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal-perazim.David came to Baal-perazim, and David struck them there; and he said, Yahweh has broken my enemies before me, like the breach of waters. He answered: Go not up against them, but fetch a compass behind them, and thou shalt come upon them over against the pear trees.
2nd-Samuel 5:24And it shall be, when thou hearest a sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry-trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself; for then will Jehovah have gone forth before thee, to smite the army of the Philistines. It shall be, when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry-trees, that then you shall bestir yourself; for then is Yahweh gone out before you to strike the host of the Philistines. And when thou shalt hear the sound of one going in the tops of the pear trees, then shalt thou join battle: for then will the Lord go out before thy face to strike the army of the Philistines.
