Acts 10:1 | But a certain man in Caesarea, by name Cornelius, a centurion of the band called Italic, | Now there was a certain man in Caesarea, Cornelius by name, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment, | And there was a certain man in Caesarea, named Cornelius, a centurion of that which is called the Italian band; |
Acts 10:2 | pious, and fearing God with all his house, [both] giving much alms to the people, and supplicating God continually, | a devout man, and one who feared God with all his house, who gave alms generously to the people, and always prayed to God. | A religious man, and fearing God with all his house, giving much alms to the people, and always praying to God. |

Acts 10:10 | And he became hungry and desired to eat. Acts 10:12 | in which were all the quadrupeds and creeping things of the earth, and the fowls of the heaven. | in which were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, wild animals, reptiles, and birds of the sky. | Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts, and creeping things of the earth, and fowls of the air. |
Acts 10:13 | And there was a voice to him, Rise, Peter, slay and eat. | A voice came to him, "Rise, Peter, kill and eat!" | And there came a voice to him: Arise, Peter; kill and eat. |
Acts 10:14 | And Peter said, In no wise, Lord; for I have never eaten anything common or unclean. | But Peter said, "Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean." | But Peter said: Far be it from me; for I never did eat any thing that is common and unclean. |
Acts 10:15 | And [there was] a voice again the second time to him, What God has cleansed, do not *thou* make common. | A voice came to him again the second time, "What God has cleansed, you must not make unholy." | And the voice spoke to him again the second time: That which God hath cleansed, do not thou call common. |
Acts 10:16 | And this took place thrice, and the vessel was straightway taken up into heaven. | This was done three times, and immediately the vessel was received up into heaven. | And this was done thrice; and presently the vessel was taken up into heaven. |
Acts 10:17 | And as Peter doubted in himself what the vision which he had seen might mean, behold also the men who were sent by Cornelius, having sought out the house of Simon, stood at the gate, | Now while Peter was very perplexed in himself what the vision which he had seen might mean, behold, the men who were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for Simon's house, stood before the gate, | Now, whilst Peter was doubting within himself, what the vision that he had seen should mean, behold the men who were sent from Cornelius, inquiring for Simon's house, stood at the gate. |
Acts 10:18 | and having called [some one], they inquired if Simon who was surnamed Peter was lodged there. | and called and asked whether Simon, who was surnamed Peter, was lodging there. | And when they had called, they asked, if Simon, who is surnamed Peter, were lodged there. |
Acts 10:19 | But as Peter continued pondering over the vision, the Spirit said to him, Behold, three men seek thee; | While Peter thought about the vision, the Spirit said to him, "Behold, three men seek you. | And as Peter was thinking of the vision, the Spirit said to him: Behold three men seek thee. |
Acts 10:20 | but rise up, go down, and go with them, nothing doubting, because *I* have sent them. | But arise, get down, and go with them, doubting nothing; for I have sent them." | Arise, therefore, get thee down and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them. |
Acts 10:21 | And Peter going down to the men said, Behold, *I* am he whom ye seek: what is the cause for which ye come? | Peter went down to the men, and said, "Behold, I am he whom you seek. Why have you come?" | Then Peter, going down to the men, said: Behold, I am he whom you seek; what is the cause for which you are come? |
Acts 10:22 | And they said, Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous man, and fearing God, and borne witness to by the whole nation of the Jews, has been divinely instructed by a holy angel to send for thee to his house, and hear words from thee. | They said, "Cornelius a centurion, a righteous man and one who fears God, and well spoken of by all the nation of the Jews, was directed by a holy angel to invite you to his house, and to listen to what you say. | Who said: Cornelius, a centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and having good testimony from all the nation of the Jews, received an answer of an holy angel, to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee. |
Acts 10:23 | Having therefore invited them in, he lodged them. And on the morrow, rising up he went away with them, and certain of the brethren from Joppa went with him. | So he called them in and lodged them. On the next day Peter arose and went out with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa accompanied him. | Then bringing them in, he lodged them. And the day following he arose, and went with them: and some of the brethren from Joppe accompanied him. |
Acts 10:24 | And on the morrow they came to Caesarea. But Cornelius was looking for them, having called together his kinsmen and [his] intimate friends. | On the next day they entered into Caesarea. Acts 10:25 | And when Peter was now coming in, Cornelius met him, and falling down did [him] homage. | When it happened that Peter entered, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him. | And it came to pass, that when Peter was come in, Cornelius came to meet him, Cornelius came to meet him, and falling at his feet adored. |
Acts 10:26 | But Peter made him rise, saying, Rise up: *I* myself also am a man. | But Peter raised him up, saying, "Stand up! I myself am also a man." | But Peter lifted him up, saying: Arise, I myself also am a man. |
Acts 10:27 | And he went in, talking with him, and found many gathered together. | As he talked with him, he went in, and found many come together. | And talking with him, he went in, and found many that were come together. |
Acts 10:28 | And he said to them, *Ye* know how it is unlawful for a Jew to be joined or come to one of a strange race, and to *me* God has shewn to call no man common or unclean. | He said to them, "You yourselves know how it is an unlawful thing for a man who is a Jew to join himself or come to one of another nation, but God has shown me that I shouldn't call any man unholy or unclean. | And he said to them: You know how abominable it is for a man that is a Jew, to keep company or to come unto one of another nation: but God hath shewed to me, to call no man common or unclean. |
Acts 10:29 | Wherefore also, having been sent for, I came without saying anything against it. I inquire therefore for what reason ye have sent for me. | Therefore also I came without complaint when I was sent for. I ask therefore, why did you send for me?" | For which cause, making no doubt, I came when I was sent for. I ask, therefore, for what cause you have sent for me? |
Acts 10:30 | And Cornelius said, Four days ago I had been [fasting] unto this hour, and the ninth [I was] praying in my house, and lo, a man stood before me in bright clothing, | Cornelius said, "Four days ago, I was fasting until this hour, and at the ninth hour, I prayed in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing, | And Cornelius said: Four days ago, unto this hour, I was praying in my house, at the ninth hour, and behold a man stood before me in white apparel, and said: |
Acts 10:31 | and said, Cornelius, thy prayer has been heard, and thy alms have come in remembrance before God. | and said, 'Cornelius, your prayer is heard, and your alms are remembered in the sight of God. | Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thy alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God. |
Acts 10:32 | Send therefore to Joppa and fetch Simon, who is surnamed Peter; he lodges in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the sea [who when he is come will speak to thee]. | Send therefore to Joppa, and call to you Simon, who is surnamed Peter.
