Ezekiel 24:1And in the ninth year, in the tenth month, on the tenth of the month, the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,Again, in the ninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth [day] of the month, the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,And the word of the Lord came to me in the ninth year, in the tenth month, the tenth day of the month, saying:
Ezekiel 24:2Son of man, write thee the name of the day, of this selfsame day: on this selfsame day the king of Babylon draws near to Jerusalem.Son of man, write you the name of the day, [even] of this same day: the king of Babylon drew close to Jerusalem this same day.Son of man, write thee the name of this day, on which the king of Babylon hath set himself against Jerusalem to day.
Ezekiel 24:3And propose a parable unto the rebellious house, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Set on the pot, set [it] on, and also pour water into it.Utter a parable to the rebellious house, and tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh, Set on the caldron, set it on, and also pour water into it:And thou shalt speak by a figure a parable to the provoking house, and say to them: Thus saith the Lord God: Set on a pot, set it on, I say, and put water into it.
Ezekiel 24:4Gather the pieces thereof into it, every good piece, the thigh and the shoulder; fill [it] with the choice bones:gather the pieces of it into it, even every good piece, the thigh, and the shoulder; fill it with the choice bones.Heap together into if the pieces thereof, every good piece, the thigh and the shoulder, choice pieces and full of bones.
Ezekiel 24:5take the choice of the flock; and also [put] a pile of wood under it, for the bones; make it boil well, and let the bones of it seethe therein.Take the choice of the flock, and also a pile [of wood] for the bones under [the caldron]; make it boil well; yes, let the bones of it be boiled in the midst of it.Take the fattest of the flock, and lay together piles of bones under it: the seething thereof is boiling hot, and the bones thereof are thoroughly sodden in the midst of it.
Ezekiel 24:6Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose rust is therein, and whose rust is not gone out of it! Bring it out piece by piece; let no lot fall upon it:Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Woe to the bloody city, to the caldron whose rust is therein, and whose rust is not gone out of it! take out of it piece after piece; No lot is fallen on it.Therefore thus saith the Lord God: Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose rust is in it, and its rust is not gone out of it: cast it out piece by piece, there hath no lot fallen upon it.
Ezekiel 24:7for her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the bare rock; she poured it not upon the ground, to cover it with dust. For her blood is in the midst of her; she set it on the bare rock; she didn't pour it on the ground, to cover it with dust. For her blood is in the midst of her, she hath shed it upon the smooth rock: she hath not shed it upon the ground, that it might be covered with dust.
Ezekiel 24:8That it might cause fury to come up to execute vengeance, I have set her blood upon the bare rock, that it should not be covered. That it may cause wrath to come up to take vengeance, I have set her blood on the bare rock, that it should not be covered. And that I might bring my indignation upon her, and take my vengeance: I have shed her blood upon the smooth rock, that it should not be covered.
Ezekiel 24:9Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe to the bloody city! I also will make the pile great. Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Woe to the bloody city! I also will make the pile great. Therefore thus saith the Lord God: Woe to the bloody city, of which I will make a great bonfire.
Ezekiel 24:10Heap on the wood, kindle the fire, boil thoroughly the flesh, and spice it well, and let the bones be burned.Heap on the wood, make the fire hot, boil well the flesh, and make thick the broth, and let the bones be burned.Heap together the bones, which I will burn with Are: the flesh shall be consumed, and the whole composition shall be sodden, and the bones shall be consumed.
Ezekiel 24:11Then set it empty upon its coals, that it may be hot, and the brass of it may burn, and that its filthiness may be molten in it, [and] that its rust may be consumed. Then set it empty on the coals of it, that it may be hot, and the brass of it may burn, and that the filthiness of it may be molten in it, that the rust of it may be consumed. Then set it empty upon burning coals, that it may be hot, and the brass thereof may be melted: and let the filth of it be melted in the midst thereof, and let the rust of it be consumed.
Ezekiel 24:12She hath exhausted [her] labours, yet her great rust goeth not forth out of her: let her rust be in the fire. She has wearied [herself] with toil; yet her great rust doesn't go forth out of her; her rust doesn't [go forth] by fire.Great pains have been taken, and the great rust thereof is not gone out, not even by fire.
Ezekiel 24:13In thy filthiness is lewdness, for I have purged thee, and thou art not pure. Thou shalt no more be purged from thy filthiness, till I have satisfied my fury upon thee.In your filthiness is lewdness: because I have cleansed you and you weren't cleansed, you shall not be cleansed from your filthiness any more, until I have caused my wrath toward you to rest.Thy uncleanness is execrable: be- cause I desired to cleanse thee, and thou art not cleansed from thy filthiness: neither shalt thou be cleansed, before I cause my indignation to rest in thee.
Ezekiel 24:14I Jehovah have spoken [it]: it shall come to pass, and I will do it; I will not go back, neither will I spare, nor will I repent. According to thy ways, and according to thy doings, shall they judge thee, saith the Lord Jehovah.I, Yahweh, have spoken it: it shall happen, and I will do it: I will not go back, neither will I spare, neither will I repent; according to your ways, and according to your doings, shall they judge you, says the Lord Yahweh.I the Lord have spoken: it shall come to pass, and I will do it: I will not pass by, nor spare, nor be pacified: I will judge thee according to thy ways, and according to thy doings, saith the Lord.
Ezekiel 24:15And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,Also the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
Ezekiel 24:16Son of man, behold, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke; yet thou shalt not mourn nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down.Son of man, behold, I take away from you the desire of your eyes with a stroke: yet you shall neither mourn nor weep, neither shall your tears run down.Son of man, behold I take from thee the desire of thy eyes with a stroke: and thou shalt not lament, nor weep : neither shall thy tears run down.
Ezekiel 24:17Sigh in silence, make no mourning for the dead; bind thy turban upon thee, and put thy sandals upon thy feet, and cover not the beard, and eat not the bread of men.Sigh, but not aloud, make no mourning for the dead; bind your headdress on you, and put your shoes on your feet, and don't cover your lips, and don't eat men's bread.Sigh in silence, make no mourning for the dead: let the tire of thy head be upon thee, and thy shoes on thy feet, and cover not thy face, nor eat the meat of mourners.
Ezekiel 24:18And I spoke unto the people in the morning; and at even my wife died. And I did in the morning as I was commanded. So I spoke to the people in the morning; and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded. So I spoke to the people in the morning, and my wife died in the evening: and I did in the morning as he had commanded me.
Ezekiel 24:19And the people said unto me, Wilt thou not tell us what these things are to us, which thou doest? The people said to me, Won't you tell us what these things are to us, that you do so?And the people said to me: Why dost thou not tell us what these things mean that thou doest?
Ezekiel 24:20And I said to them, The word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,Then I said to them, The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,And I said to them: The word of the Lord came to me, saying:
Ezekiel 24:21Say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and your soul's longing; and your sons and your daughters whom ye have left behind shall fall by the sword.Speak to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your power, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pities; and your sons and your daughters whom you have left behind shall fall by the sword.Speak to the house of Israel: Thus saith the Lord God: Behold I will profane my sanctuary, the glory of your realm, and the thing that your eyes de sire, and for which your soul feareth: your sons, and your daughters, whom you have left, shall fall by the sword.
Ezekiel 24:22And ye shall do as I have done: ye shall not cover the beard, neither eat the bread of men;You shall do as I have done: you shall not cover your lips, nor eat the bread of men.And you shall do as I have done: you shall not cover your faces, nor shall you eat the meat of mourners.
Ezekiel 24:23and your turbans shall be upon your heads, and your sandals upon your feet: ye shall not mourn nor weep; but ye shall waste away in your iniquities and moan one toward another.Your tires shall be on your heads, and your shoes on your feet: you shall not mourn nor weep; but you shall pine away in your iniquities, and moan one toward another. You shall have crowns on your heads, and shoes on your feet: you shall not lament nor weep, but you shall pine away for your iniquities, and every one shall sigh with his brother.
Ezekiel 24:24Thus Ezekiel shall be unto you a sign; according to all that he hath done shall ye do: when it cometh, then ye shall know that I [am] the Lord Jehovah. Thus shall Ezekiel be to you a sign; according to all that he has done shall you do: when this comes, then shall you know that I am the Lord Yahweh. And Ezechiel shall be unto you for a sign of things to come: according to all that he hath done, so shall you do, when this shall come to pass: and you shall know that I am the Lord God.
Ezekiel 24:25And thou, son of man, shall it not be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereunto they lift up their soul, their sons and their daughters,You, son of man, shall it not be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereupon they set their heart, their sons and their daughters,And thou, O son of man, behold in the day wherein I will take away from them their strength, and the joy of their glory, and the desire of their eyes, upon which their souls rest, their sons and their daughters.
Ezekiel 24:26that in that day he that escapeth shall come unto thee, to cause [thine] ears to hear [it]?that in that day he who escapes shall come to you, to cause you to hear it with your ears?In that day when he that escapeth shall come to thee, to tell thee:
Ezekiel 24:27In that day shall thy mouth be opened to him that is escaped, and thou shalt speak, and be no more dumb. So shalt thou be a sign unto them; and they shall know that I [am] Jehovah. In that day shall your mouth be opened to him who is escaped, and you shall speak, and be no more mute: so shall you be a sign to them; and they shall know that I am Yahweh. In that day, I say, shall thy mouth be opened to him that hath escaped, and thou shalt speak, and shalt be silent no more: and thou shalt be unto them for a sign of things to come, and you shall know that I am the Lord.
