Genesis 21:1And Jehovah visited Sarah as he had said, and Jehovah did to Sarah as he had spoken.Yahweh visited Sarah as he had said, and Yahweh did to Sarah as he had spoken.And the Lord visited Sara, as he had promised: and fulfilled what he had spoken.
Genesis 21:2And Sarah conceived, and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the appointed time of which God had spoken to him.Sarah conceived, and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.And she conceived and bore a son in her old age, at the time that God had foretold her.
Genesis 21:3And Abraham called the name of his son who was born to him, whom Sarah bore to him, Isaac.Abraham called his son who was born to him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.And Abraham called the name of his son, whom Sara bore him, Isaac.
Genesis 21:4And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac, being eight days old, as God had commanded him.Abraham circumcised his son, Isaac, when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him.And he circumcised him the eighth day, as God had commanded him,
Genesis 21:5And Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him.Abraham was one hundred years old when his son, Isaac, was born to him.When he was a hundred years old: for at this age of his father was Isaac born.
Genesis 21:6And Sarah said, God has made me laugh: all that hear will laugh with me.Sarah said, "God has made me laugh. Everyone who hears will laugh with me."And Sara said: God hath made a laughter for me: whosoever shall hear of it will laugh with me.
Genesis 21:7And she said, Who would have said to Abraham, Sarah will suckle children? For I have borne [him] a son in his old age.She said, "Who would have said to Abraham, that Sarah would nurse children? For I have borne him a son in his old age."And again she said: Who would believe that Abraham should hear that Sara gave suck to a son, whom she bore to him in his old age.
Genesis 21:8And the child grew, and was weaned. And Abraham made a great feast on the day that Isaac was weaned.The child grew, and was weaned. Abraham made a great feast on the day that Isaac was weaned.And the child grew and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast on the day of his weaning.
Genesis 21:9And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she had borne to Abraham, mocking.Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she had borne to Abraham, mocking.And when Sara had seen the son of Agar the Egyptian playing with Isaac her son, she said to Abraham:
Genesis 21:10And she said to Abraham, Cast out this handmaid and her son; for the son of this handmaid shall not inherit with my son with Isaac.Therefore she said to Abraham, "Cast out this handmaid and her son! For the son of this handmaid will not be heir with my son, even with Isaac."Cast out this bondwoman, and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with my son Isaac.
Genesis 21:11And the thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight because of his son.The thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight on account of his son.Abraham took this grievously for his son.
Genesis 21:12And God said to Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad and because of thy handmaid: [in] all that Sarah hath said to thee hearken to her voice, for in Isaac shall a seed be called to thee.God said to Abraham, "Don't let it be grievous in your sight because of the boy, and because of your handmaid. In all that Sarah says to you, listen to her voice. For from Isaac will your seed be called.And God said to him: Let it not seem grievous to thee for the boy, and for thy bondwoman: in all that Sara hath said to thee, hearken to her voice: for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.
Genesis 21:13But also the son of the handmaid will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.Also of the son of the handmaid will I make a nation, because he is your seed."But I will make the son also of the bondwoman a great nation, because he is thy seed.
Genesis 21:14And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a flask of water, and gave [it] to Hagar, putting [it] on her shoulder and the child, and sent her away. And she departed, and wandered about in the wilderness of Beer-sheba.Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread and a bottle of water, and gave it to Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and gave her the child, and sent her away. She departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.So Abraham rose up in the morning, and taking bread and a bottle of water, put it upon her shoulder, and delivered the boy, and sent her away. And she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Bersabee.
Genesis 21:15And the water was exhausted from the flask; and she cast the child under one of the shrubs,The water in the bottle was spent, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs.And when the water in the bottle was spent, she cast the boy under one of the trees that were there.
Genesis 21:16and she went and sat down over against [him], a bow-shot off; for she said, Let me not behold the death of the child. And she sat over against [him], and lifted up her voice and wept.She went and sat down opposite him, a good way off, about a bow shot away. For she said, "Don't let me see the death of the child." She sat over against him, and lifted up her voice, and wept.And she went her way, and sat over against him a great way off as far as a bow can carry, for she said: I will not see the boy die: and sitting over against, she lifted up her voice and wept.
Genesis 21:17And God heard the voice of the lad. And the Angel of God called to Hagar from the heavens, and said to her, What [aileth] thee, Hagar? Fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad there, where he is.God heard the voice of the boy. The angel of God called to Hagar out of the sky, and said to her, "What ails you, Hagar? Don't be afraid. For God has heard the voice of the boy where he is.And God heard the voice of the boy: and an angel of God called to Agar from heaven, saying: What art thou doing, Agar? fear not: for God hath heard the voice of the boy, from the place wherein he is.
Genesis 21:18Arise, take the lad, and hold him in thy hand; for I will make of him a great nation.Get up, lift up the boy, and hold him in your hand. For I will make him a great nation."Arise, take up the boy, and hold him by the hand: for I will make him a great nation.
Genesis 21:19And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went and filled the flask with water, and gave the lad drink.God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. She went, filled the bottle with water, and gave the boy drink.And God opened her eyes: and she saw a well of water, and went and filled the bottle, and gave the boy to drink.
Genesis 21:20And God was with the lad, and he grew; and he dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer.God was with the boy, and he grew. He lived in the wilderness, and became, as he grew up, an archer.And God was with him: and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness, and became a young man, an archer.
Genesis 21:21And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran. And his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt.He lived in the wilderness of Paran. His mother took a wife for him out of the land of Egypt.And he dwelt in the wilderness of Pharan, and his mother took a wife for him out of the land of Egypt.
Genesis 21:22And it came to pass at that time that Abimelech, and Phichol the captain of his host, spoke to Abraham, saying, God is with thee in all that thou doest.It happened at that time, that Abimelech and Phicol the captain of his host spoke to Abraham, saying, "God is with you in all that you do.At the same time Abimelech, and Phicol the general of his army said to Abraham: God is with thee in all that thou dost.
Genesis 21:23And now swear to me here by God that thou wilt not deal deceitfully with me, nor with my son, nor with my grandson. According to the kindness that I have done to thee, thou shalt do to me, and to the land in which thou sojournest.Now therefore swear to me here by God that you will not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son's son. But according to the kindness that I have done to you, you shall do to me, and to the land in which you have sojourned."Swear therefore by God, that thou wilt not hurt me, nor my posterity, nor my stock: but according to the kindness that I have done to thee, thou shalt do to me, and to the land wherein thou hast lived a stranger.
Genesis 21:24And Abraham said, I will swear.Abraham said, "I will swear."And Abraham said: I will swear.
Genesis 21:25And Abraham reproved Abimelech because of a well of water that Abimelech's servants had violently taken away.Abraham complained to Abimelech because of a water well, which Abimelech's servants had violently taken away.And he reproved Abimelech for a well of water, which his servants had taken away by force.
Genesis 21:26And Abimelech said, I do not know who has done this, neither hast thou told me [of it], neither have I heard [of it] but to-day.Abimelech said, I don't know who has done this thing. Neither did you tell me, neither did I hear of it, until today."And Abimelech answered: I knew not who did this thing: and thou didst not tell me, and I heard not of it till today.
Genesis 21:27And Abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them to Abimelech; and both of them made a covenant.Abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them to Abimelech. Those two made a covenant.And Abraham took sheep and oxen and gave them to Abimelech: and both of them made a league.
Genesis 21:28And Abraham set seven ewe-lambs of the flock by themselves.Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves.And Abraham set apart seven ewe lambs of the flock.
Genesis 21:29And Abimelech said to Abraham, What [mean] these seven ewe-lambs, these which thou hast set by themselves?Abimelech said to Abraham, "What do these seven ewe lambs which you have set by themselves mean?"And Abimelech said to him: What mean these seven ewe lambs which thou hast set apart?
Genesis 21:30And he said, That thou take the seven ewe-lambs of my hand, that they may be a witness to me that I have dug this well.He said, "You shall take these seven ewe lambs from my hand, that it may be a witness to me, that I have dug this well."But he said: Thou shalt take seven ewe lambs at my hand: that they may be a testimony for me, that I dug this well.
Genesis 21:31Therefore he called that place Beer-sheba, because there they had sworn, both of them.Therefore he called that place Beersheba, because they both swore there.Therefore that place was called Bersabee: because both of them did swear.
Genesis 21:32And they made a covenant at Beer-sheba. And Abimelech rose up, and Phichol the captain of his host, and returned into the land of the Philistines.So they made a covenant at Beersheba. Abimelech rose up with Phicol, the captain of his host, and they returned into the land of the Philistines.And they made a league for the well of oath.
Genesis 21:33And [Abraham] planted a tamarisk in Beer-sheba, and called there on the name of Jehovah, the Eternal ùGod.Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and called there on the name of Yahweh, the Everlasting God.And Abimelech, and Phicol the general of his army arose and returned to the land of the Palestines. But Abraham planted a grove in Bersabee, and there called upon the name of the Lord God eternal.
Genesis 21:34And Abraham sojourned in the Philistines' land many days.Abraham sojourned in the land of the Philistines many days.And he was a sojourner in the land of the Palestines many days.
