Matthew 9:1And going on board the ship, he passed over and came to his own city.He entered into a boat, and crossed over, and came into his own city.And entering into a boat, he passed over the water and came into his own city.
Matthew 9:2And behold, they brought to him a paralytic, laid upon a bed; and Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, Be of good courage, child; thy sins are forgiven.Behold, they brought to him a man who was paralyzed, lying on a bed. Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, "Son, cheer up! Your sins are forgiven you."And behold they brought to him one sick of the palsy lying in a bed. And Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the man sick of the palsy: Be of good heart, son, thy sins are forgiven thee.
Matthew 9:3And behold, certain of the scribes said to themselves, This [man] blasphemes.Behold, some of the scribes said to themselves, "This man blasphemes."And behold some of the scribes said within themselves: He blasphemeth.
Matthew 9:4And Jesus, seeing their thoughts, said, Why do *ye* think evil things in your hearts?Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, "Why do you think evil in your hearts?And Jesus seeing their thoughts, said: Why do you think evil in your hearts?
Matthew 9:5For which is easier: to say, Thy sins are forgiven; or to say, Rise up and walk?For which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven;' or to say, 'Get up, and walk?'Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee: or to say, Arise, and walk?
Matthew 9:6But that ye may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins, (then he says to the paralytic,) Rise up, take up thy bed and go to thy house.But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins..." (then he said to the paralytic), "Get up, and take up your mat, and go up to your house."But that you may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then said he to the man sick of palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go into thy house.
Matthew 9:7And he rose up and went to his house.He arose and departed to his house.And he arose, and went into his house.
Matthew 9:8But the crowds seeing [it], were in fear, and glorified God who gave such power to men.But when the multitudes saw it, they marveled and glorified God, who had given such authority to men.And the multitude seeing it, feared, and glorified God that gave such power to men.
Matthew 9:9And Jesus, passing on thence, saw a man sitting at the tax-office, called Matthew, and says to him, Follow me. And he rose up and followed him.As Jesus passed by from there, he saw a man called Matthew, sitting at the tax collection office. He said to him, "Follow me." He got up and followed him.And when Jesus passed on from hence, he saw a man sitting in the custom house, named Matthew; and he saith to him: Follow me. And he rose up and followed him.
Matthew 9:10And it came to pass, as he lay at table in the house, that behold, many tax-gatherers and sinners came and lay at table with Jesus and his disciples.It happened, as he sat at the table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Jesus and his disciples.And it came to pass as he was sitting at meat in the house, behold many publicans and sinners came, and sat down with Jesus and his disciples.
Matthew 9:11And the Pharisees seeing [it], said to his disciples, Why does your teacher eat with tax-gatherers and sinners?When the Pharisees saw it, they said to his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with the tax collectors and sinners?"And the Pharisees seeing it, said to his disciples: Why doth your master eat with publicans and sinners?
Matthew 9:12But [Jesus] hearing it, said, They that are strong have not need of a physician, but those that are ill.When Jesus heard it, he said to them, "Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick do.But Jesus hearing it, said: They that are in health need not a physician, but they that are ill.
Matthew 9:13But go and learn what [that] is I will have mercy and not sacrifice; for I have not come to call righteous [men] but sinners.But you go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,' for I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."Go then and learn what this meaneth, I will have mercy and not sacrifice. For I am not come to call the just, but sinners.
Matthew 9:14Then come to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees often fast, but thy disciples fast not?Then John's disciples came to him, saying, "Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but your disciples don't fast?"Then came to him the disciples of John, saying: Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but thy disciples do not fast?
Matthew 9:15And Jesus said to them, Can the sons of the bridechamber mourn so long as the bridegroom is with them? But days will come when the bridegroom will have been taken away from them, and then they will fast.Jesus said to them, "Can the friends of the bridegroom mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.And Jesus said to them: Can the children of the bridegroom mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then they shall fast.
Matthew 9:16But no one puts a patch of new cloth on an old garment, for its filling up takes from the garment and a worse rent takes place.No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch would tear away from the garment, and a worse hole is made.And nobody putteth a piece of raw cloth unto an old garment. For it taketh away the fullness thereof from the garment, and there is made a greater rent.
Matthew 9:17Nor do men put new wine into old skins, otherwise the skins burst and the wine is poured out, and the skins will be destroyed; but they put new wine into new skins, and both are preserved together.Neither do people put new wine into old wineskins, or else the skins would burst, and the wine be spilled, and the skins ruined. No, they put new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved."Neither do they put new wine into old bottles. Otherwise the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish. But new wine they put into new bottles: and both are preserved.
Matthew 9:18As he spoke these things to them, behold, a ruler coming in did homage to him, saying, My daughter has by this died; but come and lay thy hand upon her and she shall live.While he told these things to them, behold, a ruler came and worshipped him, saying, "My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live."And he was speaking these things unto them, behold a certain ruler came up, and adored him, saying: Lord, my daughter is even now dead; but come, lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.
Matthew 9:19And Jesus rose up and followed him, and [so did] his disciples.Jesus got up and followed him, as did his disciples.And Jesus rising up followed him, with his disciples.
Matthew 9:20And behold, a woman, who had had a bloody flux [for] twelve years, came behind and touched the hem of his garment;Behold, a woman, who had an issue of blood for twelve years, came behind him, and touched the tassels of his garment;And behold a woman who was troubled with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment.
Matthew 9:21for she said within herself, If I should only touch his garment I shall be healed.for she said within herself, "If I just touch his garment, I will be made well."For she said within herself: If I shall touch only his garment, I shall be healed.
Matthew 9:22But Jesus turning and seeing her, said, Be of good courage, daughter; thy faith has healed thee. And the woman was healed from that hour.But Jesus, turning around and seeing her, said, "Daughter, cheer up! Your faith has made you well." And the woman was made well from that hour.But Jesus turning and seeing her, said: Be of good heart, daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.
Matthew 9:23And when Jesus was come to the house of the ruler, and saw the flute-players and the crowd making a tumult,When Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the flute players, and the crowd in noisy disorder,And when Jesus was come into the house of the ruler, and saw the minstrels and the multitude making a rout,
Matthew 9:24he said, Withdraw, for the damsel is not dead, but sleeps. And they derided him.he said to them, "Make room, because the young lady isn't dead, but sleeping." They laughed him to scorn.He said: Give place, for the girl is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.
Matthew 9:25But when the crowd had been put out, he went in and took her hand; and the damsel rose up.But when the crowd was put out, he entered in, took her by the hand, and the young lady arose.And when the multitude was put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand. And the maid arose.
Matthew 9:26And the fame of it went out into all that land.The report of this went forth into all that land.And the fame hereof went abroad into all that country.
Matthew 9:27And as Jesus passed on thence, two blind [men] followed him, crying and saying, Have mercy on us, Son of David.As Jesus passed by from there, two blind men followed him, calling out and saying, "Have mercy on us, son of David!"And as Jesus passed from thence, there followed him two blind men crying out and saying, Have mercy on us, O Son of David.
Matthew 9:28And when he was come to the house, the blind [men] came to him. And Jesus says to them, Do ye believe that I am able to do this? They say to him, Yea, Lord.When he had come into the house, the blind men came to him. Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" They told him, "Yes, Lord."And when he was come to the house, the blind men came to him. And Jesus saith to them, Do you believe, that I can do this unto you? They say to him, Yea, Lord.
Matthew 9:29Then he touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith, be it unto you.Then he touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith be it done to you."Then he touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith, be it done unto you.
Matthew 9:30And their eyes were opened; and Jesus charged them sharply, saying, See, let no man know it.Their eyes were opened. Jesus strictly charged them, saying, "See that no one knows about this."And their eyes were opened, and Jesus strictly charged them, saying, See that no man know this.
Matthew 9:31But they, when they were gone out, spread his name abroad in all that land.But they went out and spread abroad his fame in all that land.But they going out, spread his fame abroad in all that country.
Matthew 9:32But as these were going out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed by a demon.As they went forth, behold, there was brought to him a mute man who was demon possessed.And when they were gone out, behold they brought him a dumb man, possessed with a devil.
Matthew 9:33And the demon having been cast out, the dumb spake. And the crowds were astonished, saying, It has never been seen thus in Israel.When the demon was cast out, the mute man spoke. The multitudes marveled, saying, "Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel!"And after the devil was cast out, the dumb man spoke, and the multitudes wondered, saying, Never was the like seen in Israel.
Matthew 9:34But the Pharisees said, He casts out the demons through the prince of the demons.But the Pharisees said, "By the prince of the demons, he casts out demons."But the Pharisees said, By the prince of devils he casteth out devils.
Matthew 9:35And Jesus went round all the cities and the villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the glad tidings of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every bodily weakness.Jesus went about all the cities and the villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people.And Jesus went about all the cities, and towns, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease, and every infirmity.
Matthew 9:36But when he saw the crowds he was moved with compassion for them, because they were harassed, and cast away as sheep not having a shepherd.But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, as sheep without a shepherd.And seeing the multitudes, he had compassion on them: because they were distressed, and lying like sheep that have no shepherd.
Matthew 9:37Then saith he to his disciples, The harvest [is] great and the workmen [are] few;Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest indeed is plentiful, but the laborers are few.Then he saith to his disciples, The harvest indeed is great, but the labourers are few.
Matthew 9:38supplicate therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he send forth workmen unto his harvest.Pray therefore that the Lord of the harvest will send forth laborers into his harvest."Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he send forth labourers into his harvest.
